- Unboxing the aftermarket Akrapovic exhaust and comparing its weight and sound to the stock OEM Akrapovic Double-Barrel exhaust.
Both exhausts have the Healtech ESE BM-1 installed for sound reference.
The aftermarket version isn't noticeably louder, but it is deeper with a deeper burble, especially on decel. (Please be mindful, sounds clips of exhausts on the internet aren't the greatest. In person they are amplified)
The new exhaust also saves a little over 2lbs as shown in the video, which is a nice plus.

About the same, but this aftermarket Akra has more of a growl, especially on decel.

Thanks. Didn't do anything to it but ride it. The chrome turned blue by itself.
@@MotoPapa88 this is the option I should have taken on my trophy, I did not take the chrome and the pipe remain mainly kind of brown 🥲
The pipes are titanium and the heat turns the blue.

The part number is in one of my videos on my channel where I show the replacement. I ordered it from Bahnstormer in the UK because they had it in stock. No dealer here in the US had it unfortunately.

Does it sound much louder than then bmw OEM exhaust without the ES eliminator ?
I am happy with it. Looks fantastic and is lighter. I don't know how it sounds compared to the BMW OEM exhaust as I haven't heard that one...only the Akra BMW double-barrel.

Thanks. Its not two times cheaper but it is cheaper only because the double-barrel is a BMW version which will always be more expensive, not necessarily better. The sound of the aftermarket one is much better than the stock Akra.

I agree. Just doesn't sound that great compared to other cans. Even the stock OEM one sounds better than the double-barrel
Man I love that black Akrap but I think even with the flap servo delete it ain’t loud enough. I plan to buy the same muffler the black one, but I might also invest in QD SS headers, the complete headers without the Cat and a resonant chamber instead. That’s the way to go, at that point remove the DB killer from this muffler as well, if it even has one?
Unless we add headers, we can't get it louder unfortunately. All the Euro 5 garbage has made sure of that. I like the QD headers, but they're not much lighter than the stock, so I'm waiting to see what Akra comes out with so I can have a full Akra system. As for a DB killer, there is no way of removing anything on the aftermarket black Akra...I checked.
At this point.. I just want to know how you get your bike to always look like its never used?!

That's easy. Hire a mobile detailer to come to your house every other week to wash your cars and bikes... ;)

Aha! I didn't think about that. Here in the Netherlands, mobile detailing services are not that popular, although I see it happening more and more often.

Hey what do you think of the Karoo 4’s on road !
They are sticky, but if you have rain grooves on the freeways where you are, they do like to track all over the place...but they are solid knobby tires that inspire confidence in the twisties. They do howl like any other knobby. And because they're soft and sticky, they wear out quickly, but they are a good tire.

I hear ya. This is my first all black bike. I just think all black on this bike looks great...but I do struggle with adding color or not.

It sounds better, yes, but doesn't look better. The J&H is way too big for the bike and doesn't flow with the lines of the bike like the Akra.
Just put an es valve eliminator on the akra and you have a better sound and 1000$ less than the jekyll and better looking akra
