@@turbocobra We are doing good. I rarely go anywhere so that is working in my favor now. I like lots of shop time but I am still working so it is business as usual. I hope you are well also!! Stay away from that big city!!
@@turbocobra was thinking about your rodeo hah... you've seen fork extensions and pick beams on forklifts. You could make a side pick that slides on. Carry a few sticks alongside the machine. Like 1000 lbs worth or less. After you get it off the truck, short chain to a side pick and walk right in the shop.
@@turbocobra I tried doing some of these on a drill press and gave up and finished it on a plasma table and even that took several hours. Having a laser would have sped up that process exponentially.
nice job . you can process that tube on the rotary and split the work on two program ( half tube cut in first program then flip the tube and process the other half)
Sweet video mate, I make some weight lifting at home too, I’ve done pieces like this only with a magnetic drill, not nearly as many holes as yours, definitely takes some time
Just a thought, How about moving the band saw nearer the door and make a roller table that's permanently outside bolted to the ground so you can plonk your materials straight on and crack on with cutting as soon as it come's in less work for yourself and manoeuvring too?
no worries sir, i have your stuff cut out. And yesterday i gave a sample to customer that has a high precision made for metal wide belt sander, adn he ran hte individual cut out through it with no problem at all, so when your ready i will head over to his place and run them all through. It was the guy i did these tubes for, his shop is 2 hours away
Good job,It can helps many people not optional the rotary device which can processing the square tube cutting ,But I see you always have the rotary device of the machine, Have you try to using that ?Maybe it can help you save more production time
Hi Gary. Would you be so kind to show me screen. How do you draw to do that. I am learning because my Laser arrive on October. I am from Argentina. Thank you for share your knowledge.
Great jigs Gary. I love jigs. I make lots of them, and save them. Unfortunately, I rarely end up reusing them. Need a couple of boxes (large!) of random jigs? I’ll tell you, that machine does beautiful work.
lol, I hear ya Mel, i dont have as many as you, but i have a few around. problem is, some of them i may not can find when i need it lol. But i have a feeling i will use this set again
Beautiful work. I learned a bunch from you. If you had to do a bunch of these it might be worth figuring out some "ends" to the tubing so you could get the 10" needed to use your tubing cutter.
yea, that was a thought for sure, to tack a 10" piece onto the end of a precut piece. I dont know if that would have saved much time to line that up, tack it, and then cut it loose each time
I have 3 years of experience working on plasma machines and more than half a year on laser machine. I wanna work in US or in Canada. But I don't know how can I find job offer.
Did you draw a program for that or is some other way to do it when i try to draw it the post it it thinks its cutting on a flat plate and would want to cut the plate also.
Great job! how you avoid head crashes over the tube? I tried similar jobs with smaller tubes and head loses reference and crashes, as material is non-continuos
i made a video a couple weeks back how i price some of the work I do. I keep track of all of the costs of material, and time involved on most of the jobs I do, and I use that as a learning to apply toward future jobs. Did I make the amount I wanted? Or did i maybe charge too much and i could be more competitive in the future? This particular job I can tell you that I WAY under bid it, lol but thats ok, alot learned i can apply to the future
Hi, I'm from Poland and I would like to buy such a laser, I have a few questions, are you generally satisfied with the China laser and why don't you use the night rotation for pipes since you have one. What was the price for your laser. Regards, Michał.
Man, I don't want to sound mean, but everyone asks these same questions, that's why i spend hours making videos. Every one of your questions can be answered in my many videos showing this laser
This is so impressive. I'm currently under alot of pressure, and desperately in need of some help to create a jig. This definitely helped me!
The mark of a professional is how easy they make this look as well as the quality of the output. Excellent work and an enjoyable video. Thank you
Thanks for watching James!
Nice work Gary! I like your setup. There is always a good payback for a repeatable setup.
Thanks Reid, i hope you are well sir

Nice job Gary, I can't wait to see your tubing cutting!
I really liked your square tube work around and repeated accuracy you were able to achieve. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Walter!
Nifty setup work. That laser is a clean cutter that's for sure. Quite the rodeo bringing your steel in hah. Be well. Thanks for sharing
Yes, its a very accurate machine!

I can't imagine doing this on the drill press.Good job.
yea that would not be fun

@@turbocobra Just drilled 1500 holes off the drill press making two squat racks. Took about 8 hrs- and now I'm looking at laser cutting videos ha!
Good idea with the tube jig you made.
Good job, I like it. Very good idea for cutting pipes. Thanks!!!
impressive video, Gary!

Hello Gary. that is a professional Jig. I thought you could not cut through both faces at one time.
Sliding a tube over the adjusters while cutting may be a good idea to keep the threads clean.
👍 Nice work, and one of the top 3 videos I've seen so far today.
I am here to entertain sir
Great!, which ones are the other two? lol
Great video, lot of time and setup involved, hope you got well paid, very tidy

where are you from ? we are fiber laser machine manufacture from Jinan, China
Good job Gary, that really would have been the only way to do that job and make any money.
it was a fun project but not a money maker, but it could turn into a larger project, and i would likely redo the jigs to hold several tubes at ones
A thought Gary for your jig to be adjustable, use f clamps with the fixed jaw on the outside edge of table and moving jaw towards center of table?
Hi Gary. Would you be so kind to show me screen. How do you draw to do that. I am learning because my Laser arrive on October. I am from Argentina. Thank you for share your knowledge.

Which company laser machine do you use.whats the laser source

This is an awesome idea Gary. How was the repeatability with the indicator after swapping out the tubing and maybe bumping it etc?
Did you draw a program for that or is some other way to do it when i try to draw it the post it it thinks its cutting on a flat plate and would want to cut the plate also.
you can choose ( only process selected graphics) option and select the circles only
Solid work buddy!!
Thanks Tim
Why don’t you use tube cutting attachments besides the machines
What would be the average cost to have this done considering the customer provided the tubing
Can we cut pipe even when you don't have tube cutting attachments In machine, with such adjustments
i need a cut Condition passed clean both sides on square tubing with only one time. help me
I am using the sheet of 2500*1250 mm on same bed.sheet is moving from its position while cutting.how to fix this please tell.
Could touch run edge detection on the ends ?
Why not use your chuck gantry?
Great job! how you avoid head crashes over the tube? I tried similar jobs with smaller tubes and head loses reference and crashes, as material is non-continuos
Some machine have aprofile cut condition , also you can define the high tube as thikness in software .
Nice job, totally jeleous of your equipment! I'm making some power racks right now myself and 1" holes using a drill press has not been fun!! Lol.
lol, oh yes, been there many times! I have some other videos showing manually drilling 2000 .050" holes in stainless tubing
@@turbocobra I wonder, if you could do such small holes with this laser machine?? Not possible, right?
God job Mr Ramsey
thank you sir
Hi mate, what power is that laser machine? 2000W?
How does the laser in the z axis not crash into the material? Does it have a sensor that detects the surface of the box section?
Yes, capacitance height sensing, i have demonstrated this in a few videos
Ramsey are you an oree laser rep in the United states? I am looking at possibly getting a fiber laser and would like some information
Yes, I am the US importer/installer for OREE. email me. gary@ramseycustoms.com
Hmm, it will be faster than using rotary system. But limited in regular design
Sir can you send me the drawing of that tube holder
Всё правильно, также используем лазер)!
Ладно я на подобных костылях трубу режу - нет этой опции, он то нафиг так ? Труборез же стоит в стороне .
