Is Gambling a Sin? Why Gamble if you believe God, That's why it's forbidden, because it brings your belief in God into question.
Money is the root of all evil... Gambling is considered selfish and an endulgence.
It could be, maybe to you. But after paying bills sometimes nothing is left but just enough to enjoy the fruits of your labor. I gamble to make a little money to stretch the rest of the month because I am on social security which is really not much to live on. I find it enjoyable but I can only go every other month or so.

Everything is "multi faceted," @Grace Digital Network, that what we're experiencing now that the "light of civilization" is behind the horizon and allows us to see all sides clearly without the light's glare nor dark's distortions, we're mostly so busy judging we're unable to receive the wisdom of these events.
I was a serial gambler among other sins but Jesus Christ saved me ..I became a born again Christian and my entire life changed. I am tempted by the demonic realm to go back to gambling and that God won’t mind..my spirit becomes convicted that it is wrong and so I need to put the armour of God on and fight the temptation..don’t do it! God is not pleased with gambling. God bless❤️
Not all people that gamble are looking to be rich. I live in California and my apartment manager said my rent will be increasing 8% every year, which is way more than my income increases. Some people gamble just to have a little extra cushion and to relieve stress from paying bills. Also, the stock market is a gamble, so is investing in crypto currency, gold, and other metals. No work involved there either.

Here's what I can say about this subject. My whole Christian life I considered gambling to be a sin and a terrible waste of money. However, in 2020 during a very difficult season in my life, where I was really struggling with my finances the Lord came to me and specifically told me to go and purchase a lottery ticket. I did not know the first thing about how to play the lottery and had to research it so I wouldn't embarrass myself at the purchase counter. I got the ticket and that same week won $1000 in lottery winnings, confirming that God had indeed asked me to do so.
So, my advice to you is, unless you have received an explicit promise from God that he intends to give you the lottery, then don't play it. You're wasting your time and money and probably having your heart corrupted in the process. But, if God has indeed spoken to you and told you to go play the lottery than do it, because He has good reason for it.
"But now as for what is inside you-be generous to the poor, and everything will be clean for you." Luke 11:41 NIV
may I ask how did you know if it was really Jesus who told you to purchase a lottery ticket, and not a devil in disguise? "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 2 Corinthians 11:14

( Numerous lottery winners said they are sorry they won the lottery, several programs were made about marriage break ups, losing friends etc after winning the lottery life changed for the worse.)

One of the main reasons to accept this as a sin is that most of those games can have a cheating function/action/move by the machine/players/objects and if you cheat you have Greed. Most today's games (by hand or electronic) can be caught cheating in any moment. Some have this rule since don't want to lose and keep cheating if doing it or as long as possible "PRO-PLAYERS ARE FORBIDDEN". What an excuse to keep doing traps.
PS. Most electronic games from mobile and computers have a gacha function. That kind of game is too gambling.

The lust of money is sin
Money isn't everything never gambler know they have been people that are gambler - holics some lost their stuff from gambling. I am not a person that would gambler know need money pay bills and have to eat not going waste all my money on gambling.
Funny thing is smoking is a sin !! Looked it up , so we have in this world millions who sin everyday , ur destroying gods gift who gave u life , a great gift , knowing that smoking will destroy ur health !! And eventually kill you ! Sooner or later . That was what motivated myself to quit ! Slipped once or twice but finally quit !

The scripture says that if any two of you agree, God will do what He promised. You don’t have to find a dozen people that agree. You may not be able to find five people, but there is one person that God has already ordained that will come into agreement with you for what you’re believing for. There is a power partner that is not going to break their agreement. They’re going to stand with you through thick and thin. When others doubt, don’t think it’s possible, try to discourage you, they’re going to keep believing, they’re going to keep speaking faith.
