"He goes up to her room and finds that she has hung herself" truly scared me for a second because that did not happen in the movie but he made it seem like it did.
Having this movie on DVD is so great. You get Far Far Away Idol after the credits: which is a display of a bunch of characters singing classic tunes. Then you get to pick which character wins, but if you pick certain characters Simon Cowell declares himself the victor.
Also, when you boot up the disc, the main screen lays out the main cast in a "Brady Bunch" format, and they all have dialogue to yell at eachother.
In short: it's great!

@@CarbonDioxide. several hours and one annoying talking donkey ride later, gingy and the gang had several two hours more getting both shrek and co outta jail and making le grand gingy and an unspecified 30 minutes to an hour later from Drury lane to castle far far away. So it took 7-8 hours for gingy, an eternity for shrek, fiona and donkey and one montage later.

the fact that high boi manages to review entire 90 minute movies, sometimes longer, mention every important moment, as well as the majority of non-important details, call out every little plot hole, inconsistency, and unrealistic (to an extent obviously) detail, and manages to fit all of it into a video thats usually under twenty minutes is impressive and he deserves an award for this feat of intelligence

It really amazes me how good Shrek 1 & 2 are. I loved them as a kid, but even now I still find them entertaining to watch. The mixing of basically every fairytale you can think of was so cool.

you should watch puss in boots the last wish. its got all the whacky fairytale characters like shrek does but i honestly enjoyed puss in boots better than any shrek movie. keep in mind tho that the introduction and first few parts of the movie is questionable and a bit aimed toward children but it gets real fucking good fast when goldie and the 3 bears show up (its a slight spoiler but you just really need to hear this)

I think it was meant that when FG died, all her (active) magic died with her, so the spell on the king was undone, leaving him a frog again and implying her dress had been conjured up as well (which begs the question why she didn't use her magix to fix her eye-sight or maybe she just thought glasses made her look wiser and more Godmotherly...)

@@mouhiazeck My thoughts are that magic and magical potions can both achieve the same things, but just done in different ways, so even if someone had taken such a potion, she could just simply devise a way to completely reverse it, and vice versa. So in this case, it's all too possible that the king was modified via spell rather than potion, and her being essentially vaporized meant all of her spells ceasing to work.
Or in layman's terms, potions can achieve a lot and is very easy to automate (probably so she can turn it into a business), but direct spells can still achieve the exact same thing, albeit being somethig only experts can do, and would cease to work upon their demise. At least, that's my personal theory.
3:17 Fun fact, this is like the only time Puss in Boots wears a cape in the Shrek films, he takes it off and never puts it back on. Same in his first film, he has it in the beginning scene, but immediately loses it. The new Last Wish movie is the longest he's ever worn a cape.

Fun fact: The reason Dragon wasn't in this movie was because they didn't know what to turn her into when Donkey drank the potion. Even the creators have no clue what she turned into, and I'd like to think she's already her perfect self, so she wasn't even affected 😅
In the film's commentary, they planned for her to be a talking Pegasus, but the test audience were afraid of her pregnant moodiness, and it was hard to keep the pregnancy a secret because she had so much to say

Shrek 2 is one of the greatest movies of all time. The attack on the castle scored by I need a hero is just so amazing and epic in all the right ways and might just be my favorite "action" piece from any movie ever. Considering its an animated "kids movie" it just has no business being in either of these categories.
Shrek movies really aren't "just for kids" which is something I truly adore. Sure, most films out there aren't rated "just for kids" but there are movies where truly nobody but kids would be willing to watch and enjoy it as much. Doing dirty mature jokes in these movies actually what makes it enjoyable for the entire family. I see myself laughing from these movies more than PG 18 comedy movies out there sometimes.

Glasses are usually referred to as accessories rather than clothing so if the Thanos-snap bubblada kedavra spell is meant to only vaporize people and their clothes, the glasses wouldn’t necessarily be included under that definition.

@@CoralCopperHead Given that she moves her hands outwards as she disappears her rings could have been flung off in the other direction. The earrings might count as a part of her body since they are directly attached to her through bodily modifications. (It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but I really like Shrek 2 and refuse to accept that it has any flaws so just go with it)

The theory behind the king turning into a frog was that he had the happy-ever-after potion to turn human and the effect was immediately broken because the maker of the potion ceased to exist. Thus, the curse, although it was reflected, seemed to have had an effect on the king.
Why Shrek didn't turn back into his OG is something I don't know.
Surely the King drank the potion and wanted to remain human when he kissed the Queen, yet Shrek and Fiona both wanted to go back to being Ogres, the potion just does whatever you want.
