Good interview, despite the Overkill mutual admiration. I've always loved the Guess Who music and admired Burton's songwriting and incredible voice, full of soul and resonance and range, plus his musical chops. But what I like most of all is his humbleness. He is truly grateful for his success and that success hasn't gone to his head. Thank you Burton!
This is BRILLIANT!!!! WHAT A BRILLIANT MAN!!!! I am a huge fan of BURTON CUMMINGS. HE is such a great story teller! Loved every one of his stories! I hope he makes a HUGE come back to a younger generation. He is totally GENUINE!!! That's what the world needs. REAL AUTHENTIC people who sing and speak from the heart:):):): GO BURTON GO!!!! LIVE LONG AND ENJOY LIFE!!!! Ooooh and my FAVORITE SONG is "I'm Scared".....TOTALLY, a life changing and inspirational song for TONS of people!!!
I liked how Burton talked about how Randy drove him to open up his musical vocabulary. There has clearly been some tension between these men, but there is a solid layer of respect as well!
Burton has always been there on his terms. Still out there playing with his band and singing his heart out. Do I wish he was more well known?.....yes. But I'm SURE HE’S HAPPY AT THIS STAGE OF HIS LIFE.
This interview is 8 years old but I hadn't seen it yet! I've heard Burton tell the stories before and I loved watching him tell them again! He always speaks from the heart! I'm one of his longest and biggest fans!! Kim is an amazing interviewer. I so miss him on Q-107!!
What a classy, mature way at 3:45 to refocus the interview in a positive way. It goes from a slightly prickly area, and flows into some great insights. Well done, Kim.
There’s a song of Burton’s called My Own Way To Rock which I truly love which seems to be a parcel of his life set to music. Great interview and thanks for uploading.
My late mother used to play bingo at the Broom and Stone in Toronto back in the seventies. The woman had a lucky streak at bingo, she won three jackpots in a row. Unbelievable, now I suck personally at Bingo and gambling. The most I won was fourteen dollars at the New York New York at slots. LOL
Burton was asked how he felt about the Lenny Kravitz cover of American woman, and he simply replied, "I'll just go and buy another mansion with the royalties! "😅
A comment on a thread on another inerview, the commenter is saying the place is now, I think, an Ace Hardware. They said where the stage was is marked on the floor, and a sign says American Woman was written on this spot!
@@cherylangus4406 Super! Can you please link me to a photograph of the couple, and/or to anything which talks about them? I want to see and read proof. I have heard so much about Cummings having married an American.

Kim Mitchell, I saw you in concert at Club Regent Casino and Resort in Winnipeg. It was a good concert.
A fantastic interview indeed. A couple of incredible Canadian musicians with both Kim and Burton.

Didn't Burton Cummings MARRY an American Woman?
No, he married a beautiful gal from Toronto.
