Original song "Father and Son" by Yusuf / Cat Stevens.
• Yusuf / Cat Stevens - ...
Side note: I do these videos because I enjoy making them & I really don’t expect anything in return.
However, I have noticed that some people have commented saying that they'd like to make a donation to help me to continue to do what I love, so if you’d like to make a contribution, you are welcome to do so on my PayPal: paypal.me/thek.... Thank you!
I must say that I cried while listening to it. My father died 6 years ago, and I miss him more than anything. Dad's advice is something that I needed a lot in the past few years. I always try to do the best that I can and it is in my possibilities. Sometimes that is not enough. Life brings in some extra difficulties that make everything look like a complete disaster, but that wouldn't matter if there is a calm person with good advice that I can talk to. Thank you for this song.
So sorry for your loss. We lost my dad in 2019. Hardest thing I've lived through. Miss him every day. Dad was our anchor. This is a beautiful reminder of how dad's calm is during rough times, eh?
Yes I lost Father 2022.....I knows what you say
Thanks for sharing brother. May he rest in peace. I’m sure you’re still making him proud. Much love.
🙏🕊️
Me 2
It's nearly Christmas '23 and the first time I've seen this. What a wonderful, laid-back dad. And great to hear that amazing Cat Stevens song again too. So many old memories flooding in. I'm in tears here. ❤❤
Please can we have more with your dad, he's great.
I am so glad that I went Kiffness Wandering tonight. Great song with dad! Your videos bring sunshine into my day. ❤
More with your dad please!!! Very special and much needed!
That makes me miss my dad. You're so fortunate to have your dad. Give him an extra hug.
His father looks so kind and wise and intelligent. This a great video.
Thank you! He’s a retired Ear Nose & Throat surgeon. He’s full of wisdom & a great role model.
@@TheKiffness this song was beautiful on so many levels. Thank you so much for that. Wishing u well in the future n g'day from Sydney, Australia :)
@@TheKiffness Hey kiffness, hope you are all well. Do u reckon ul could do a rona parody on cat Stevens, cats in the cradle and the silver spoon. To let people know while we're stuck in quarantine, we can at least connect with our kids. Have a great day. Yra gem :)
The Kiffness ....and he sings that well? He’s very handsome. Where are u quarantined, by the way?
Thank you bru I had to share that with my son....masterpiece!
This is a parody ... but the main topic, calling your dad because you can't handle it anymore and dad calming you down and telling it's gonna be okay....
I just had to bawl my eyes out.
Well, now we know from whom The Kiffness inherited his voice! Kudos to Dad!
Every time I want to remember my dad. I listen to this. Thank you so much. Its make me cry. 💔
🤗 Much love Michael! Please read 👉 Matthew, Tell Me About Heaven ... and you will learn that your Dad is a mere whisper away 24/7. THAT'S TRUE!

You make me miss my dad. RIP dad, you were the best friend I had until the end, you will be cherished forever.
I am crying in gratitude for this interaction between you and your dad. I had a rage-aholic father and never any comfort... so I am receiving peace thru seeing this interaction between you two. We loved Cat Stevens when he was performing... thank you Cat! ❤❤❤ Thank you Kiffness! ❤❤❤
How many times did my dad tell me to relax, get drunk and watch TV singing a Cat Stevens song about how cold his beer is? NOT ONCE, you are one lucky son dude.
😢
💔
Roses & Prog 😂
I know eh?? Too lucky I'm jealous.
Shame forgive me yes please if I too share how F*CK SHIT both my parents are. Jip birthed me and that's about where it ended. Both turned their backs on me and sheeeet how I wish I could have a relationship even close to this with even ONE of my parents. Both still alive but both made it CLEAR that they're not at all interested in me - and neither's willing to give an explanation. LOL all I can do is frown upon them, Oxygen Thieves.
Песня очень грустная. Я плакала. Очень красиво спето и передан смысл отношений между родителями и детьми. Цените каждую минуту, проведённую со своими родителями. Ведь их скоро не станет.
Holy crap! Your dad is a STAR! Amazing!!!
that is not cat stevens
Adorable, yet poignant. Those days dragged on so long, seeming endless, but now they’re gone. I am thankful for all of us who made it through. 🙏🏼
The problem is, many didn’t stand against the tyranny, and it will happen again because they know they got the masses to do what they wanted the first time.
It's the most beautiful thing I've seen today. Duet with someone who loves you unreservedly is special! Keep going! :)
Most beautiful, enduring and full of gentle love. The Dad and son, such wonderful voices. I cried with happiness and feeling their love genuine. Thanks for sharing YOUR world of realness and tenderness.
That was so sweet. I raise a glass to all those Dad's, like mine, who are no longer with us. Great work guys.
CHEERS TO OUR DADS WHO ARE NOT WITH US ANYMORE I MISS MY DAD TO
Has me remembering my dad who is no longer here..
O its really his dad...how sweet is that
How did I see this for the first time just now, being a Kiffness fan already for many months? This is my new favorite video, even if it's a year old. It's genius, and thanks for sharing wisdom and insights (and talent) from your Dad, Kiff- A Fan from Brooklyn
@ninacohen5401 Davey'a father is extremely personable. I would like to hug him. And he sings well too!
*Excellent... really, really excellent. We're still in lockdown here on the Isles of Skye (Scotland), but this video didn't only make MY day, it brought a tear to the eye of my Dad - a 69-year-old retired police officer, whose not exactly known for showing his emotions! It also made my (94-year-old and very computer literate) Grandad's entire week too! So well done fellas, for spreading a few smiles and tears of happiness. Cheers!*
Рада за вашего грэндпа. Долгих , беззаботных и радостных лет вашим родителям
When I was sixteen years old, I told my artistic father he should pierce his ear “like I had done”. Why? Because he was an artist (pottery), and because I wanted to rebel a little. And, (much to my never gonna forget it and love him forever surprise ) he did it( in 1987!!!) for me.
Great song mates! I hope you and dad are doing well.
👏
Oh my goodness...I love your dad! What a glorious voice and so handsome! The two of you singing together is so wholesome. Definitely put a smile on my face.
This was beautiful. Got me misty-eyed. Thank you for sharing your gift.
This is as HIGH QUALITY as it gets - this musical piece can & SHOULD BE HEARD EVERYWHERE!
This song made me cry, I never knew my father but this is what my mother would do for me she's the best she's everything for me
Thats what a dad would do for you so lots of love to you.
Beautiful duet. The Dad’s voice is so calming and yet solid , the son’s voice expresses his youth and impatience. Well done you two. Dad, keep singing .
Good to see your dad sharing his original song with you & all of us. Thank you for the joy. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your Dad and your beautiful gift of musical talent with us. I think of my dad and miss him everyday. God Bless You ❣️
Beautiful relationship between dad & son
It's make me remember my dad who was passed away when i was graduated from my high school
Years ago
You are lucky still have your adorable dad
Awww... I cried like a baby... hadn't seen my parents (Who are 86 and 87) for three month, but today my sister, who cares for them (they both are having Dementia), drove them to my city, and we talked, while they were standing on the parking lot and I was on my balcony. Sorry for telling this, but I'm alone, and I had to tell it someone. Thank you for your music, stay healthy! Greetings from Germany Andrea :o)
😢❤💕💖
I'm sorry that you feel that you are going this "alone" - you still have family as you admit. (all my family cares about is who gets what when I snuff it). Call or email daily or more than that if you can. Find others on the "net" who'll chat with you now and then - I will gladly do so! There is someone there with you - even you can't see their presence. You sound to be about my age - early 60's. Remember, ear, there are truly many people who ARE lone. We're all going this nightmare alone, so take solace that the struggles and pain isn't yours alone - you've got a lot of mates, chums, pals and buddies going through this with you. Sometimes we just need a hug or to be held - I wish I could do that for you now...
I did not know that I was able to do this.. at all.. and the first few minutes I tried I thought how can I do this.. but I became a caregiver for my mother for 4 and 1/2 years.. she passed away over 5 years ago and I suffer for her every day and night.. and I find myself wanting so badly to go back to that very first time I started to take care of her.. she was paralyzed in a wheelchair and you know what.. we really became friends.. I would say to you since your mother and dad are still alive to do whatever you can for them now.. for their sakes and for you.. and remember people tend to put things off thinking they will get to it when they get up enough strength to deal with it.. but a consideration or something that could have been a Blessing.. sometimes turns into deep sorrow or regret when it's left undone and then it's too late and you can't go back and change it.. some people put my grandmother in a nursing home and claimed she had Alzheimer's and I kept putting it off to go see her trying to find strength..i started visiting with her a short time before she passed away..but i lived to regret all the missed times i could have made her life brighter...you can do some things for your mother and dad and please if it's all right start today and put it on your priority list everyday.. it's a nightmare when you can no longer find someone you love if it wasn't handled right. I've known of two people who are said to have Alzheimer's and I known people that were said to have dementia ..please bear in mind to have your parents checked for urinary tract infections because I've heard that when people get to be much older they seem to have dementia if it is a UTI and once the UTI is cleared up they can go back to normal.. and I really think that people with Alzheimer's can understand and process but that they just can't always communicate.. I've had a theory that they become paralyzed to communicating on a regular basis.. but yet can understand..
@@alwellus my name is treesa.. I'm in Arizona.. I think that was really great of you to offer friendship to this person.. as far as people go I'm also alone.. my mother passed away about five years ago and I'm just somebody that doesn't have any people to love them.. I do have my animals they are very important to me.. they love me and I love them deeply.. but it would be very nice to have somebody a good person to communicate with some times.. so if you think it's okay please send me an email once in awhile emailfortreesa@gmail.com.... but yes if the other person wants to I think you guys should become friends!!!
Andrea R. Warm wishes and a virtual hug from South Florida.
I only just heard this today. I want to cry. Beautiful
Hands down, The Kiffness earns the Corona Quarantine Entertainment Award!
The humor and creativity ... ingenious! Please, might I have some more?
Yes, the best 🥰💫🌟🤩
Corona, of course - you make me thirsty!
What a nice , optimistic Dad .
@@valerieobrien5521How great would it be if he could write a song about catching Covid, and family won't visit or help because they can't be around (unvaxxed or pregnant) and no agency assistance due to Covid, and how humanity and mankind leaves the weak to die. No racism, just each person out for themself.
@@mchasteler Yes, but maybe the sad thing is less for David.
Someone could make a real protest song out of this topic.
Apart from a serious Covid illness; how you were insulted, avoided and excluded as an
unvaccinated person, only to find out after a year and a half that the vaccination does
not protect against infection at all.
Warm kisses for super Dad. How nice dad and so good singer!!
Dude you have some serious talent. Really enjoying your style of coping with the quarantine.
Like father like son very talented 👍👍
How in the world is this not viral?! This is beautiful! :') thank ye so much, Davey Sr. and Jr. and Jr.'s luvvmuffin who's there to make him calm and grounded when days get too hard and blurry! :')
👍
...wait for it...
We should make it viral! Pass it on!
It will be any time soon. I found it just no, and so will others. This is one of the best corona-songs so far.
Being shared in Virginia beach, va.
beautiful ! Tell your parents that you love them when they are alive and not when they are dead. I love all your work and your voice. Always good videos and music.
Your father's voice is lovely and seems very intellectual 👍❤💯
I've only just seen this. Absolutely beautiful!! Please do more together! This is so touching! Well done dad!!!
Love your dad! That is a precious moment for you...made me cry...and smile. Perfect...Davey...lol
It is not easy to be locked in an endless quarantine, but it is much less to be away from the people you love, and to know if you will ever see them again. This creative parody makes us cry and makes our soul happy ... Lots of Love! Cheers!
This is really special & brought me to tears, as I just lost my Dad in January before the pandemic. This song has always had a special place in my heart, my Dad had Cat Stevens records he played when I was young & I always had a connection to the lyrics in this song, though I was a daughter, not a son. I really love your song parodies, thanks for sharing & keeping us entertained in this time.💛
My condolences to you.
@@KS-catnip Thank you💛
Sorry for your loss!
@@auroravegodsky9938 💛
I'm so sorry for your loss, Jane. I lost my darling dad 2 years ago. I have to tell you something though. When the worst of the pain eases a little, you will start seeing little signs from him. He's still with you, just like my dad is still with me,. Best wishes to you.
Dad has a calming voice.
Love this! Love to see a father and son having a great bond! God bless you both!🙏💖
Davey, you are so lucky to have a Dad like that. My own father passed away in 1991 when I was 18 and I never got to experience "adult" conversations with him. I am less of a man for not having someone to tell me to calm down, shut up, take it easy etc. I know it's only a parody but still, you are a fortunate man.
Good Morning from Sacramento, California, USA. What a great parody. I wish my Dad, (as well as my husband) were still alive so I could share this with them 😘
This is so wholesome. Lost the old man last year, this brought a tear to my eye. Thanks
Beautiful. I lost my dad several years ago. I miss him so much.
I'm just seeing this song now and it made me ball my eyes out its so wholesome may dad kiffness's beer's always be cold 🥺❤❤

Is he really Cat Steven's son?
Same. At work trying not to cry...so funny and sweet at the same time.
Yup. This is truly a Corona Classic! Well done Gentlemen! Kudos!
I loved Cat Stevens back in the day! Good to see him and his son.😊
Loved this, Davey. Made me laugh and cry. What a sweet Dad and talented too. Thanks for sharing him today.
Wasn't that the sweetest thing ever , dad & son singing together. It was not just melody but the words they were so nice.
From a South African Sitting in Canada - this brought a tear to me eye. Thanks man.
I was actually touched by this as my dad died 28 years ago and I really miss talking with him. And what a great dad you have. Love to you both! 🙂
What a great start 2 my day with u n dad singing together!!! It's soooo very special. You guys sound so awesome!!! Thank you!!!
25th September 2022, still coming back to listen ☺
Hysterical and sweet all at the same time. Y’all are are talented singers too!!!
Good voice & talent really flows in your family 😊
This should go viral.
share it guys :)

Village People Philippines If it doesn't I can't understand. Perfect. Stay happy healthy and wise. thanks
Absolutely brilliant, the original cat stevens song is one of my favourites, this is also one of my favourites.
This put a smile on my face to see you and your dad singing a duet. I lost my dad in 2003. We were supposed to meet at a symposium where he would be speaking a few months later. I'm still a bit miffed he broke our date, because I ended up giving a eulogy in his absence. *_Cherish everyone you love_* because you have no idea how long they'll be around. Stay healthy everyone!
You just gave new meaning to one of my favorite Cat Stevens songs. Thanks for making me smile :)
How could anyone dislike this...????? It was brilliant!! Thank you again for smiles during the storm..
Simplemente me encantó. Tu padre , tan cálido , aconsejando te, maravilloso. Me conmovió, los aplaudo 👏👏👏
Es muy triste esta canción. Me gusto mucho
Ahhh Bless you both! that was AWESOME!! Listen to the older generation is probably more important now than ever, love the they way you adaptd the song, which is a great song i remember, take care both and well done!!
Не ведаю ангельску мову, але адчуваю любоў сына і бацькі ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful! My dad is 87 & is in a nursing home on lockdown. He has dementia & is confused & sometimes upset that I don't come inside & visit. We talk thru a metal fence with yellow caution tape keeping him 8ft back. I just want to hug my dad!! Thank you for this song 💕
Shelly look up Dr Mary Newport on UA-cam. She discovered something which can roll your Dad's memory loss right back. Listen to her TEDx talk and her other videos where she appears with her beloved husband for whom she undertook three solid years of research. Her discovery turned her husband's condition around and he recovered his memory and his personality.
Remember the coconut oil must be COLD PRESSED ORGANIC. Goof luck.
I watch this video almost everyday. Thank you both. 😂
Bravo, really, to your dad for doing this with you!!!!!!
That was a beautiful moment shared with your Dad.
Thank you man. This made me smile and I needed it.
Wow, that was a tearjerker! You're amazing together, now we know where your talent comes from 🥰🤩
This was so beautiful. I lost my dad April 12, 2020..not COVID-19 related. I wasn't allowed to visit him or to say goodbye due to the patients in the hospital with the virus. Love your dad every single day. You just never know what tomorrow brings. I miss my dad excruciatingly much.
My condolences to you.

Keep up the great content!
Absolutely BRILLIANT!! Really moved me......&brought ☺. Thank you!!
Ahhh, that was sweet. Thanks, Dad and Davey. We're here in Washington state, USA.
Love it! His son sounds just like him when he was young.
Love this I miss my dad. He passed away 5 years ago to cancer. I miss him everyday. I love your songs so much and it’s makes me smile and I show my mum too. And she smiles too. I wish you could make the photograph song longer.
Gabby Husband I echo your sentiments & my father would have giggled at this parody! Stay safe Gabby 👍
Gabby Husband I'm sorry to hear about your loss of your father. I lost my father to his fifth heart attack but lost my mother to cancer.
I miss my parents every day. My father died in 2015 and my mother in 2018, both were old, and unwell towards the end. This song is wonderful and cheered me up. Greetings to you all from the Maltese island of Gozo where I live.
I just lost my Dad. Spent a week in the hospital with him never waking up. After the service we flew home and 2 days later we hear about CoVid, then we get locked down. Dad may have been the first in Charlotte, but we won't know because no one was looking for it.
@@kathrynblodgett1969 I know a few people in England who said they had a weird flu in January, one of them had a friend who had just been to Wuhan, and they now think they had Coronavirus. Sorry about your dad. Keep well yourself!
What a beautiful, funny, lovable father & son! Just amazing to hear from them. Working out the script was excellent!! Well done boys!!!
My mom, Beverly, was moved to ICU and put on a ventilator today. I’m afraid for her. Because of COVID-19 I haven’t seen her since February and I can’t hold her hand at this horrible time. I love your music and I love the laughs you give me. I know she would get a hearty laugh from your parody’s. For some reason, seeing you and your father sing this song made my want to share my heartache. Please keep uploading more music. I’ll always be watching. Stay safe.
Donna Mcdan Sending ❤️ and virtual hugs your way.
I'm so sorry. Once she gets back home, if you haven't been anywhere for a week, just go visit her and hold her. No laws out there are worth moments you can never get back. Xx

Michelle R Jackson you are very sweet. Thank you.
Beautiful, I love it. Kudos to your dad !!
One of my favourite parodies so
far
That is brilliant, davey kiffness. It was funny, touching, abit of bodgy advice, but that was funny. It was beautiful on so many levels.
I love this....yes I know it tugs at the heartstrings, but, it has some humor, too. For the sweetness, for the truths, but especially thank your for the humor, as always. The dagum line, "...you're being strange" sounds JUST like something one of my parents would have said to me. I miss them terribly, but thankful they went to be with Jesus before the Covid Craziness.
Thank you both for this!
My dad too would say that to me... Loved that part of the song...
so sweet, so beautiful, thank you both soooooo much for the smiles and the tears!
Fantastic... after loving this song for almost 50 years, now i love it more than ever...
i miss my dad ...this songs makes me some kinda of energy ....i am listing this daily
😆What pure kiffness! Making us proud here in Suid Afrika !💥⚡️
My favorite though: The Sound of Sirens🙌🙌
See you around town when the lockdown's over! 💜💜💜
Beautiful. So emotional when older father and grown up son talking heart to heart.
Love this so much!! I’m a huge Cat Stevens fan and I would listen to you two can sing lockdown or no lockdown... any day. That cold beer sure did look good. Cheers 🍺
Very precious to see the complicity between father and son. Thank you for sharing. Great song.
Absolutely loved this video!!!💕
I had a great dad. No complaint. I used to sing with him rancheras...Lol..he was so funny, and lovely father. He was so smart and evolved, that he taught me the basics to have a safe and happy and balanced life. I am so glad to see this kind of videos. You are so fortunate to have this wonderful Dad. I pray for all the families to make the life more sweet to their children. That is key to have happy adults in the future. Thanks for sharing !!
This song makes me think of my son, before and especially now. I wish his Dad were here to tell him to be a bit less anxious and to encourage him, but we lost him when our son was just twenty. I'll make sure to encourage him as this Dad does, and to be honest, my son encourages me when I struggle, in the same way.
Gotta be one of my favs Kif. I love the picture of u 2 at the end. I never had a dad like that but I’m lucky I got to grow up and be that kind of dad to my son. We’ve also played & made music together. Some of the best memories of my life.
Thanks for sharing this 🤘
