After the hellish successes of “Evil Dead” (1981) and “Evil Dead 2” (1987), director Sam Raimi made himself a name for the obscure and in 1992 he would take the main character of his previous “Evil Dead”-films Ash (Bruce Campbell) and literally throw him to the middle ages to fight the evil forces on an epic scale. Bruce Campbell delivers a wonderful schizophrenic performance between horror and comedy, which makes the movie a (bloody) feast. Wonderful musical accompaniment was given by Joseph LoDuca, who also worked with Raimi on the previous projects and proved to be the very right choice. Based on a strong main motif (reminiscent of the main theme of Bernard Herrmann’s “Cape Fear” (1961)), LoDuca gives us all: big themes, big orchestra, big chorus - everything over the top, as the movie, supporting the wild actions on screen just right. Enjoy!
If music can sound "cinematic", this this is it! Nothing original, but all of it intense and always reminding an epic story is being told. Hold on to your seats! A fun entertainment, made more so by this exciting music.
Thanks Fred for the new version❤👍🏻 Sam Raimi + Bruce Campbell priceless❤❤ Bravi Joseph LoDuca + Danny Elfman❤👏🏻 Of the Evil Dead trilogy, I saw this one first. Always funny and with his catchphrases! In retrospect, I think the film's slapstick and epic tone influenced the Raimi-produced TV series "Hercules" and "Xena." I have the "Evil Dead" video game. I still haven't seen the 2013 remake, the "Ash vs Evil Dead" series and "Evil Dead Rise". I would love to have Ash's outfit and weapons for any type of party!
Hello, Fred!! With a passage in rock and an academic background in jazz and classical, Lo Duca once again demonstrates why he has already won nine ASCAP Awards and one Emmy _ as we listen to his score, almost everything comes to mind: epic brass by Rozsa ( or Newman), some strings by Herrmann and others by Donaggio, mixed choirs by Goldsmith, delicate female choirs by Elfman, pizzicati by Williams... Everything you can imagine! Just like in the film, the musical " battlefront " here is so vast that there is material for about three or four other films! Without a doubt, an effort capable of making Spartacus and Xena envious!... Thanks and bye!!
Hello! In fact Danny Elfman did write a nice cue for the film called "March Of The Dead", which is heard in the movie and featured on the soundtrack CD. It just didn't made it into this video. :-) Best! Fred
This is the original trailer music for the film cutthroat island before John Debney produced his masterpiece soundtrack for the ill-fated film. ua-cam.com/video/IV5JD490ZL4/v-deo.htmlsi=n-I6eP9aQnGtS3PU

The suite is such an amazing banger, it has a Dracula - Van Helsing - Indiana Jones vibe to it :D
A fabulous score; one of my favorite fantasy scores of all time!

Yes heard of this so thanks for the suite.
One of the silliest movies I’ve ever seem
"All right, you primitive screw-heads, listen up! This... is my BOOM STICK!" Such a fun movie with an excellent score. Thanks Fred!
Thank you for this amazing upload, music, movie/film and soundtrack
🙏🙏🙏🙏
Les francophones se souviendront aussi avec nostalgie du Donjon de Naheulbeuk.
I forget that Danny Elfman didn't do this one. Add a little carnival/merry-go-round flair and you've got Elfman.

At around 10:10, "The Deathcoaster", sounds a bit like James Horner, "Aliens". 😀
