Left the movies in shock, could not recommend it enough but didn't want to spoil anything so all we could say is.. " no-one can be told what The Matrix is you have to see it for yourself" There was no promotion except asking what it is, no spoilers, nothing like it had been done. It was awesome. Sense8 is a show by the same writers. It was cut short but still allowed an ending. Its sci-fi, social, empathetic, action, drama, cheesiness, love, sensuality all rolled into one.
I did exactly that, 7 days in a row. You might say the Matrix was the first big viral thing and it just blew everyone's minds when they saw it. It influenced practically everything that came after.
Keanu Reeves truly is a national treasure! You should watch Point Break, Speed, and if you are looking for a goofy time with him, Bill & Ted. The Devil’s Advocate with him and Al Pacino is a banger too.
Dude. The beginning of the movie already got me hooked and ends with him flying and with a rage against the machine song. Dude this movie was ahead of its time and still good. Glad you watched it and enjoyed it. Have an awesome day Mike. ✌️✌️
@@TheMikeLawz They were given a budget for the whole movie but they knew what they wanted to make... so they spent the entire budget on that intro scene and showed it to the execs, and that's how they got the money to make the movie.
This movie came out when CGI was in its infancy and wasn't really used on any large scale. To get the slow motion shots where the camera moves around the actors, the film crew set up dozens of cameras on set in different spots. The cameras all filmed the scene simultaneously, and then the production crew stitched all of the different perspectives together to get the one fluid motion.
I love that they use the true love's kiss trope while still actually having scientific backing. The fact is she was talking in his ear, she just had to convince his brain this isn't real. Mind over matter.
“You know what that means? It’s Latin… it means ‘know thyself’”. -Mother Matrix Thanks for the reaction and the laughs. Do yourself a favor and watch Animatrix. It’s adds context to the whole story and leads straight into Revolutions. Keep on keeping on and Gritos from Tejas. Five red pills into the rabbit hole… that’s deep. “Oh, sh*t.” -Neo “Yeeeeeehhhhhhhhs.” -Morpheus
You can take a lot of things from watching The Matrix, it hits people different, and that's what I love about it. To me it's a movie about self discovery, self acceptance, believing in yourself and gaining the courage to be who you really are, and to someone else it might be another thing entirely :) I love this movie.
I like they way you said it's good to see him so young... he was 35 when this was made... although than man just doesn't age. Dude how have you not seen this movie?.. your gonna have to do all 3 now..... enjoy!!!
If anyone wants to see how the world got to this conflict of humans versus machines, watch the Animatrix. It's very good, it's a collection of shorter stories some of which are talked about in the movies. How the machines evolved, what happened to the ship that told them the machines were coming with an army, and what the deal is with the teenage Neo fanboy in the sequels. It answered a lot of questions I had about the setting and the changing visual styles were fun to watch.
I watched all 3 movies 14 times each in the biggest cinema in Europe at the time. I love when people react the way you do to it. It's so cool so many years later.
Mister laawwz. You're gonna enjoy the rest of the series, hopefully! the newest one was a bit odd but either way its chock full of action, chosen ones and deep thinking!
Great reaction as always ;) But before reacting to matrix 2 reloaded you really should react to "The Animatrix" : These are 9 shorts stories on the matrix universe who helps to understand it (some are prequels and others take place between matrix 1 and 2). For example : -The second Renaissance : It's a matrix prequel which tells what happened between humans and machines and why the matrix was created -A kid's story : Origin story of a new character in matrix 2 & 3 -Last flight of the Osiris : It's an introduction to matrix reloaded, litterally a couple of hours before. So remember the right order to watch the matrix franchise is : -the matrix (1999) -the animatrix (2003) -the matrix reloaded (2003) -the matrix revolutions (2003) Btw, matrix 2 (reloaded) and matrix 3 (revolutions) are actually a 4 hours film cut in two parts (they were shot back to back) and this is why they were both released the same year with only a 6 months gap. A little bit like the lord of the rings which were shot back to back as well. Can't wait to see your reactions to the matrix sequels :)
Great reaction and it's one of those science fiction films where the themes are relevant to modern day, humanity causing their own destruction with technology and us being a disease like Agent Smith says in the movie.
You missed so much. It wasn't a jack rabbit on her shoulder it was the WHITE rabbit that the computer just told NEO to follow, which is why he said "Sure, I'll go".
2:19 The name of the buyer isn't Troy, it's Choi. And his girlfriend's name is DuJour. These names were chosen purposefully by the writers. It's part of the theme running through the series - the issue of fate versus free will. Choix du Jour is French meaning "choice of the day". Americans usually know similar phrases like Soup du Jour (soup of the day), etc.
When this came out, me and a friend watched this the first time sober, second stoned, third on lsd, and it was awesome confusing and different each time.
@@TheMikeLawz That's also an anagram for ONE. This movie would hit different if you had seen it back in 1999. There are so many movies inspired by Matrix now (I''m talking about the way you make/film the movies). You mentioned "Inception". That's one of them. So, watching the Matrix now, it may not leave that impression on you. As I always say, in movies, theres is "Before Matrix" and "After Matrix". That was the one movie that made me get out of the theatre, thinking about life, where are we, completely ... what just happened??

The original concept was brain power(neural network), not batteries, but it would have been to complex for some people to get so they simplified

I learned of Keanu from Matrix. These movies made him my GOAT
Trinity fulfilled the prophecy when she confessed her love for Neo, if she didn't, Neo would have died in that hallway.
True

The original reason the machines use humans was for processing power. Like a giant connected CPU.
It's pretty awesome to see Keanu like this because this was his first serious role as an actor. Before this he did nothing but stoner films.

"Why not use nuclear energy, why are you farming babies?". Because nuclear energy would be the sensible answer, and so the film could happen.
