Hey, wanted to leave a comment for hope; I fell into anxiety 7 months ago. It was really bad but since I discovered Shaans videos and Claire weeks about 3-4 months ago (thank god!) my journey actually began, and I started learning things for more than just anxiety. My symptoms decreased, my response was getting on point, and yes I fell into 2-3 true setbacks, one harder than the other but they got shorter and I started to respond even better to those setbacks. Now when it hits me out of nowhere I am 100% sure I can respond correctly.
It is possible! And what Shaan is teaching is really the way (I am not from the mentorship or got payed, this is honest self experienced opinion).
Don’t loose hope! It’s really not that bad how we think it is in the situation. You got this guys!

Thank you so much for this! :D For the last few months I have started responding really well, and I'm not even worried that a lot of symptoms are still there. I just do more and more in my life and respond as well as possible :) BUT it was a big help hearing that Kaylee had "12 out of 10" symptoms as that was my number as well, and that it took her 2 1/2 years for all of the symptoms to go away - it makes me super hopeful that I will be fine eventually even though I'm still having symptoms! :D I just KNOW I can do this! :D

    SUCCESS STORY & QUESTION
Hi Shaan, I’m about 7 weeks into practicing complete acceptance and I can’t believe the change I’ve experienced. I’ve felt with pretty severe anxiety the last 2 years until I hit a point when I got panic attacks multiple times a day for about a week. Then I found you and Dr. Claire weeks. I wanted to thank you!
I’m blown away by how much better I’ve gotten in such a short time. I noticed that after about 6 weeks of totally acceptance (i practiced a lot before all this but I never did it for anxiety lol) my body has gone into this rest mode as if I’m starting to heal.
I’ve had pretty much ZERO anxiety for the past two weeks and have been feeling much better. I feel at peace. Almost bland … if that’s a feeling. It’s not a bad thing. I much prefer it to anxiety. But my question is if my body will return to its natural state where I actually start feeling like really good and motivated?
I feel so much better but will my body and mind go back to being able to feel good feelings again instead of like dullness? For a while I could pretty much only feel negative feelings and after reading the books I understand why now. I guess I just miss feeling joy from things I used to love doing. I feel like I don’t get as much pleasure out of things after 2 years of anxiety… is my body just too burnt out to be able to feel good from those things? will that come back? But yea that’s my question thanks again!

At this point, I find the symptoms extremely annoying, they used to scare me but now I'm just irritated by them. I guess technically I'm not reacting in fear but I'm not sure if annoyance perpetuates the nerve sensitivity or not.

Sometimes i got the same. they dont really scare me anymore - at least i dont stress about them to much. But sometimes some of those symptoms annoy me. Well i guess we just have to let them be. dont focus too much on them. like live your live with that annoying symptoms, so they wont annoy you too much. eventually they should disappear :)

@@vasi3005 My descent into this new found world began early December last year, so it's been about 3 months. I'm thankful I found shaan and studied his material in such a short time frame. I see from your other comment that you have been stuck in this for almost a year, how did it all begin for you? Was it the random and sudden panic attack? Thats what started my journey, a very terrible panic attack.

@@spikeSpiegel114 Hey, glad you got to Shaan so quickly! That probably saved you a lot of grief :)! Well, yeah, it's been almost a year now and it *really* feels like a roller coaster ride, where sometimes you're screaming with joy and the next second you're terrified of the next downhill. It all started with a youtube video I watched about cancer, it really freaked me out and I immediately started checking my symptoms. How I was breathing in and out deeply. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop it and after 2 months of constant deep breathing, I had my first extreme panic attack at night after stress with my girlfriend. I called the ambulance and then everything calmed down during the night, but the next day I had another panic attack and it went on and on. I now know that it didn't start with this video in particular. It started 1 or 2 years before my panic attack, when I realized that I was getting more and more unhappy with my life and more and more stressed because I was trying to manage my life with a job that kept me busy. Like a chain reaction - bam. Panic attack. So it's pretty good that I had/have this journey. It gives me a chance :) If you want, we can keep in touch.

@@vasi3005 Did you also get stuck in the weird mental loop where you feel that you must manually control your breathing or else you will stop breathing? as if you forgot how to automatically breathe? - I ask because the heavy breathing thing usually sets that mental loop into motion. I found that as some of the physical symptoms alleviate, the mental loops and habits remain.
We could keep in touch! however, I don't have much social media.

    • @vasi3005
      @vasi3005 2 місяці тому +1

@@spikeSpiegel114 hey, yeah that breathing thing is really *the* symptom for me. As shaan mentioned; usually the first symptoms of anxiety will go away the slowest so I’m being calm and patient. This exact loop you mentioned is what kept me in the anxiety cycle for so long! It was really terrifying at first because I really had no clue what was going on. After stressing out so much about it I fell into the loop even more and got scared automatically as soon as I was again concentrating on that loop. It was exactly how you describe it. But - for our goood sake - it eventually calmed for me. I’m out of this loop and I will tell you how I “did” it. I do no longer really focus on my breathing in most cases. Even when I go out of this loop after some seconds. I still got that weird sensation to take deep breaths (just one of those bad habits) but I am no longer scared of this breathing issues, also I don’t get shortness of breath (it went away completely - what I never noticed until now lol, so thanks for the reminder;) ).
I tell you what I did, that the focusing loop went away; nothing. Yeah you read that right. It’s a little bit more complicated tho. I did just what shaan asks you to do all the time. Do nothing about it. That’s really it. The focus loop is basically trained behavior because of anxiety. You do this, because of the deep breaths / shortness of breath what ever, and you breathe deep / shortness of breath what ever because of anxiety. So far so good. Now your body / brain were trained by no one but you to do this behaviour. Now you focus on your breath cause you think that controlling it will give you at least some control over the situation or probably cause you think you will not die because of it. That’s exactly what’s actually keeping the loop alive. I had several obsessions like the breath thing during my anxiety and all went away as soon as I started to loose my attention to them. I basically didn’t engage with those things and sensations. Just accepted them as part of me for now. I knew they will eventually pass in the future but I did not care about them too much for the present. And it actually happened. They all are gone. So just accept that you are feeling or thinking this way, but don’t let it influence your day. Accept everything how it is now, don’t add second fear (like Claire weeks says and basically what shaan is trying to explain I guess) and continue doing what you do. It’s unpleasant and will eventually pass don’t worry, but for now just let it be there, don’t give it too much attention and just continue living your life. It will eventually pass like it did for me, cause I can’t remember the last time I was stuck in that loop. It just went away without me noticing it.
I’m really left with some leftover anxiety basically. I got some bad habits like still a little resisting over my symptoms or this deep breathing habit (that are basically the most sticky elements in my journey) but I don’t do anything about them. They are here I don’t really care, they are welcomed to be there with me for this time. If I get a day that this breathing is happening really often I don’t stress out and just accept it. Time will pass and I am kinda confident about them really going away if my nerves get the chance to heal.
Trying to figure out how to exchange contact information haha :)
