I still remember the demonetization scene like it was the other day, and the funny (i mean ironic) thingis that I was going through my first ever nasty depression fase too, it was also just a year of having my first bucket list dream car, which was the Renault 19 CHAMADE 16v (a very rare euro compact sports 90s sedan) but dude, you felt like a company man. I always kept coming back to kinda check on you, don't want sound creepy, I acknowledge that you don't know me 😅 but it just how I felt and thanks to your Smurf and thanks to my Red french bathtub, the world felt better. I also met so many nice people through that machine. I'm glad both our lives are going as we wish. Still wishing also to one day just compliment you in person and thank you for everything, for making the lives of your community have lots of Smiles per Gallon. Before I finish, I don't know if you remember, i did a replica of Smurf over Twitter on a game called TrackMania canyon. Anyways. I'll go to sleep with a huge smile. Thank you, take it easy 💙
Have you ever considered tracking down your Black Mustang? That'd be such a cool journey to go down just to see what happened to it. Heck, maybe even repurchase it and do something unique with it.
I literally can’t believe I’ve been following David for so long!!! So freaking great! And yes, I do feel old! At 25 I finally bought my dream 2013 GT! Thanks for all the years of inspiration. Here’s to 10 more years of content!
@thatdudeinblue .. YOU and SMURRF have been a constant in my life, through my divorce, and losing a house and some family, you have always there for that support and comfort.. you have let it be known really even without saying it, you have your car which is there for you.. and the people you meet when you go out of your comfort zone.. you have always been there and always will be.. thank you
I never comment on UA-cam videos, but this one warrants a comment - I started really getting into your content when I went to college back in 2015. I’ve watched the Smurf Saga unfold and watched you and your channel grow along with that car. You’re one of the realest, most humble dudes on UA-cam - a lot of UA-camrs only share life’s highlight real, and you show it all. You share your mental health struggles in a way that’s constructive and relatable while also putting out some of the absolute COOLEST car content on the platform. Love your channel, love your cars and love your story, brother. Thanks for what you do - excited for the future of your channel and your future as a human 🤙🏻 Stay real, Blue
Talk about a throwback! Its been awesome watching you grow over the years and getting to talk to you at various events. We have always loved watching you succeed and appreciate all of the hard work you did for us. Keep up the great work and let us know if you need anything else! - Tyler R.
10 years and 1 day later (genuinely ironically, I ordered it in February) and I'm picking up a 2022 Mustang GT, grabber blue, manual, and have a roush catback sitting in my garage waiting to be put on (from a 2020 mustang that was totaled last year) You were the original inspiration! The future is bright *and blue*!
Hearing the backstory like this is so cool. I’ve been watching fun the beginning and it’s been such a great journey watching you AND your channel grow over the years.
Wow, this video made me strangely emotional. I can't believe it's been 10 years already! I was somewhere in the first 600 subscribers, and plan to stay for many more. Thanks, David for all you do.
Man, started watching you when you got the car. I had a love for 5.0s and started consuming your content as quickly as you have provided it. Thanks for all the entertainment and smiles over the years
Great video David. Been watching you for a few years now. I have 4 kids all older than you. I am a car guy and I ordered a Dark Horse on 6 April. I have been driving German cars & Corvettes for over 4 decades. The DH will be my first Mustang. I like both your your boosted Mustangs. Keep on growing your business. I am a fan!!! 👍💪😎🇺🇸✝️
Dude, you're one of the biggest reasons I want to own a mustang in the future. Can't believe I've been with you for like 7 years. Here's to you enjoying smurf for many more years and to you being able to continued making content
Dude I've been subbed for 10 years?! I was 15 at the time... This brings back so many memories for me alone, let alone all of us on this journey with you! I've been itching for a mustang ever since I found out about Smuurf, and now at the age of 25, I'm about to get my first GT! Congrats on 10 years of this beautiful car, and thank you for all of the memories, David!
My son showed me your channel back when I had my 2013 gt 5.0 and I’ve been following you ever since. Always great content and I especially like when you review high hp cars, it always makes me smile when you react to the pulls. Keep it up buddy and congrats on 10 years!
Smurf if literally one of the main reasons I wanted a Mustang so bad in high school. I’m 2013 I use to watch your videos repeatedly living vicariously through them. It’s crazy to see how far Smurf has come over the years.
6years ago....I happened to stumble on a vid, thanks algorithm, and I've been here since. Can't remember which one it was....but you seemed to be charismatic and really enjoyed driving and being in the car scene. Between you and others I've been able to keep up on things as I have not been very active in the scene, but that is changing.....thanks! Keep up the good work.
Now I know what thatdudeinblue means. I've been watching for less than a year and I've pretty much only seen you drive other cars. From one smurf to another (Mariner Blue Miata here), that's an awesome story. Glad you still have it and hope you get it running soon.
I have a 2014 Mustang GT premium track pack in grabber blue but I have taken a different route with mine. After 10 years it has 2500 miles, still has every original part except the oil filter. I change the oil annually despite averaging around 224 miles per year. Even has original tires. Never been washed with water, never been rained on, never spent an entire night outside, garage is heated and cooled just like the rest of the house so it lives in an environment very similar to my living room. I love it!
I’ve been here all 10 years! Got a 06 v6 Mustang when I was 16. Started watching Mustang videos online and found your vids. I used to watch all the “vlogitty vlogs”!! I’d watch your reviews over and over again. I’ve watched JDs GT500 and the Cobra video at least 15 times each. Upgraded to a 19 PP1 GT about 3 years ago now! Your videos exposed me not only to the world of Mustang, but all enthusiast cars. Even hopped on some FH2 lobbies with you back in the day!
I started watching about the time you became Smurf's caretaker. I said here is this kid who is trying to make a go of it on youtube and his channel is about one of my lifelong ambitions automobiles. I watched your Vlogs and it gave me an insight to what my children (your age) might be going through. The Vlog you did with your dad really hit home. Now here it is 10 years later and I have finally moved up from a foxbody to an S197 Coyote engine car. I still catch the videos that are about cars and events I relate to but have enjoyed watching you grow and handle life's road-bumps. Keep up the great work while staying honest and you will continue to flourish!!
Amazing content as always, been a fan for many years. You are the reason I own a 2004 Terminator. Thank you for being a UA-cam creator and reviewing for so long!
Wtf i been subscribed to u for 10+ years? Thats crazy. Im the guy from the first boston subscriber meet who told his job he was going to the bathroom and came to the event.
Found you on UA-cam my Sophomore year of college 2014. This channel pretty much started my love for cars. I also learned a lot from this channel. To this day you're the one car UA-camr I still look forward to new videos. Love your work brother 🤙 Keep being you.
First video I saw of yours, you were talking about the new S550 Mustang that hadn’t yet come out. I think it was 2013 or ‘14. I went back and watched all of your Smurrf videos at the time and I’ve followed the whole journey since! We actually met once at the end of your first rally in Pueblo Colorado, my dad and I drove our 1966 Mustang down to meet you and we went and got Wendy’s with your friend Brandon. I still have that car to this day and I feel the same way about it as you do with Smurrf! Also, I just want to say, I really appreciate how real you’ve always been with your viewers. As others have said, you’re one of the most real and humble creators on the platform. It’s been a pleasure following you for these past nearly ten years, and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors! God bless!
David….. this is literally the 2nd video of yours I’ve watched. The 1st one was the review after 70k miles. I have to say that these 2 videos were very much an eye opener for me. You have such a connection with your audience in that you love and appreciate them for their support throughout your journey. It can genuinely be felt through watching you talk about it. Also, the way you talked about how you were content with the car and fast forward 10 years later, you still have Smurf….. that to me speaks volumes. Your humbleness, your dedication, and your passion for what you do is so refreshing. You’ve not only gained my respect, but you also gained a subscriber for life. Keep the videos coming, don’t ever change who you are, and thank you for being so genuine! Thank you!!!!!
Started following you eight years ago when I was about to purchase my ‘14 mustang. Looking around for some S197 content and stumbled across the channel, been a fan ever since. 👊😎
So I was 22 bought a new 11 gt manual and noticed your videos. Became a regular viewer and over time caught myself noticing we had simular taste in mods etc. Needless to say a white 13gt with red leather became available and I bought the car and continued to watch the videos until the 240 took over, and I would come back to watch fast car reviews lol! Congrats on the 10 year anniversary and your youtube and life SUCCESS, to GOD be the GLORY!
My first time seeing Smurf was 10 years ago I was young and dumb looking up UA-cam videos on cars and stumbled across your channel with the black mustang then you posted a video the next day of Smurf and I was like this dude has my DREAM car right now and I’ve been watching and enjoy ever since I’ve gone through many of the same troubles but 3 years ago now I was able to get my own dream car it’s a 17 GT in grabber blue and it is 100% my forever car sure I’ll probably have 6-7 other cars but this will stay forever with the great people and memories I have in it and working on it. Buying material things might not bring happiness but the feeling I get being able to floor this thing and track it sure does bring a big smile to my face.
Can't believe I found you towards the end of 8th grade! I absolutely loved the vlogs, your first s14 240sx review! It really showed me the automotive landscape in a new light and formed my positive opinions on the car scene and the sense of brotherhood it created. Afterward I would watch fast and furious after I turned 13 as It's PG13 🤣. Nowadays all these years later I'm almost 22 in university studying engineering and my passion for cars is as large as it's ever been! It's truly amazing to think that as I eventually buy a vehicle and live my automotive life as passionately as you!
I remember being in high school watching everyone of your smurf/mustang vids just waiting on the chance to get mine. Bought my dream 2013 grabber gt at 19 shortly after graduation and haven’t looked back. It’s been 5 years now. Thanks for the inspiration!
This essentially how I felt when I bought my Infiniti G37 back in 2019. As my first car with no money to my name, she was the fastest and comfiest thing I could afford, and taught me so much about how cars work and just the modding scene in general. The statement you made with Blue about you and your car hit hard with me as I used my G to escape my problems as I really enjoyed driving. Sadly my G was totaled due to a Tornado that hit, but now I get to be a part of the S197 Coyote squad and definitely going to make her as badass as Smurff was.
I started following you when you got this car because I got my 2014 5.0 Gotta Have It Green around the same time and I still have mine as well, only 60k miles.
I can't put into words what it's been like and meant to follow your journey. I've been here since just about the start. I got through a lot of hard times and kept my love for cars and car people with your channel. I lost so much in the last few years. From a home to my mom. She shared a love for cars with me. From writing stories to working on my broken down car. I keep here in spirit. Watching your videos keeps me grounded and good. Continue being you, David. I can't speak for everyone. But I'm positive most of us will be here alongside you and Blue.
Great video David! Can’t wait to see Smurf get the electrical issue fixed and back on the road! Also just want to mention that you have been a big inspiration to me. I remember watching your car reviews back in the day like the unicorn mustang and the skyline reviews and I was just wishing I could own a car and be like you and all these guys with their awesome builds. You also inspired me to make a UA-cam channel even tho it never got good or serious, And now it’s cool seeing that unicorn mustang again. Feels crazy that I went from wishing I could get my first car however many years ago I started watching you to getting my first car in 2018, my 1967 mercury cougar, and making amazing memories and living the car guy dream. Keep up the great work @ThatDudeinBlue
I've been with you for a long time David, like Woodward TV but longer, I forget what videos got us started but it was like ten years and a couple UA-cam accounts ago. Thanks for everything especially your deduction and being real always.
My first time seeing Smurf was in 2014 when you came to Mt sterling Kentucky for a cruise. I had a red 2008 3v. It was my first mustang and only had it about a year when you filmed the video. I will always love that car. But about 3 years later in 2017 I bought my gotta have it green 2013 and I love that car just as much, I still have my 08 and my 13 and hope my kids get to enjoy them one day. Seeing Smurf always made me want a 13-14 mustang, still to this day they are best looking mustang ever made. It’s just nostalgia from that point in my young adult life where mustangs was my personality. I wasn’t a social butterfly but cars was my freedom and escape from everything.
I’m not to big on mustangs, but I really like the S197. In fact, your channel is the only channel where the Mustang is the main car for the channel. I really appreciate your story with Smurf. The ups the downs it’s all a journey. Never sell it
Smurrf really is a beautiful car, I understand the point in having a deep connection with a vehicle, ever since I got my Honda I treat it like if it were my kid, it’s something I worked hard for and was able to acquire, buying new parts and just seeing them on the car really makes you appreciate your ride even more, a stock car is like a blank canvas you should be able to do what you want to it and appreciate it more and more along the way and develop that connection with it almost as if it were a living thing, a love for a car is really something else, I hope that I will be able to soon get a 2014 GT or a Boss 302 and have the kind of money to take it on a boosting journey too
I'll never forget pulling into Caffeine and Octane in front of you a few years back in my GHIG 2014 GT after I'd been following your channel for years. Then when you walked around with me and my buddy and talked to us a bit and posted a picture of both of our cars together on instagram. Literally made mine and my friends day. Keep it up David! Thanks for bringing us along
Found this channel 9 years ago the day my dad bought his 2012 5.0 it’s been crazy to see the growth of the channel and the car scene as I’ve grown up. Hoping to buy a S197 of my own when I’m done with college.
I was 14 when I first started watching you David. Now I’m 23. What a crazy 10 years it’s been. Thank you for being my YT therapy when I didn’t have much else. 🤙🏾You and Smurf are the goat
You're my UA-camr since 2012. I've been into cars my whole life. I loved how you love all automotive scene. I've always wanted to start a career in Automotive but then I got diagnosed with epilepsy in 2018 when i was about to start college in a field of automotive collision. But your videos cheered me up.
My first time seeing Smurrf was on subaruwrxfan’s channel. I’d been getting into his videos because I liked subaru legacy’s at the time, and then I saw your collab with him. I went over to your channel to watch the video of his car from your perspective, and I enjoyed how you made your videos. I also loved the sound of the mustang, so I started watching. 10 year old me really enjoyed the the bright color and the lovely sound of the car. I’ve set my eyes on a S550 grabber blue manual mustang gt for the past 3 years, and I will have one as soon as I graduate college. I can confidently say that you and smurrf have grown my passion and love for mustangs, so I thank you for that. I also thank you for the amazing content you have given us over the years. Please keep doing your thing, and I’m excited to see what the next 10 years has in store!
When I was like 17 years old, which is now about 9 1/2 years ago, is when I first saw Smurf....I KNOW CRAZY!!! I was torn between getting my dream car (Terminator) or a 13-14 Mustang (14 came out a bit after my hunt began), and at the time both were in similar price ranges. I watched a lot, A LOT, of your videos. About 5 years into all of this hunting I managed to find an 03 Cobra for sale; bone stock, 6k miles, original owner, and a bunch of the little goodies Ford gave Terminator owners. I couldn't resist, it was, and still is my, dream car...I bought it! That was the first time I saw Smurf and your page, still a fan. Maybe one day you can review/check out my ride!
I first started watching your videos back in 2015 when I first bought my 2015 GT when I was 23, first mod I did was after watching you install the 551C wheel and tire kit from AM. I took out my credit card and bought the same wheels and tires after that video. Been watching 7 years later strong!
It’s hard to believe it’s been that long. I’ve been following this channel since I was about 16 in highschool and was looking to buy a 300zx and saw your review. From there on I loved the channel and all the reviews you did. Honestly can’t explain how good it is to see a UA-camr as genuine as you are. Everything works out for a reason and man am are we glad you stuck with it. Congratulations on all of your success and keep up the great work!
You were one of my first car UA-camrs I’ve ever subscribed to buddy! You reviewing my Golf R was one of the highlights of my life bro! Had the time of my life. You legitimately are just like one of us. Thank you so much for not getting a big head with the fame. Cheers fam!
I want you to know I met you at Caffeine and Octane last year in September 5th. You took time out to speak with my friend Dalton, Nick and I. Invited us behind the ropes to stand by Smurrf with you and I want you to know how much that meant. You were the first UA-camr I had ever meet IRL and it meant the world seeing how genuine you are in person. Thank you for the years of entertainment and thank you for taking time out that day to spend time with your fans.
The first video of yours I saw was you putting on the axle back. You're one of the few things that's been a part of my life for ten years and I'm genuinely happy about that.
Dude. This car started your channel. Film school days. High school for me 😂 I have as many memories I can remember by seeing your car as I can with buddies who's cars I've taken road trips in. Awesome video man!!! Buddy just sold his absolute show quality 2v vert after years to move on to bigger and better. You have been a huge influence of the community man 💪 Keep doing you
The fact you have kept that car and not traded or sold it for something else is props 👏🏼 Way to many people want the new shiny toy. A person who is happy with what he has and takes care of it, like that old man who drives a pristine old truck that everyone asks if it's for sale.
Such a cool story. I remember seeing Smurrf at a Best Buy in Chesterfield and you were showing off the exhaust to someone. Still wish I went over to say hi.
My first video of yours was when I was Subaru obsessed as a teenager. I would watch your review of that silver Hawkeye STI at my first job and see you just hoon the heck out of it. From there it was a gateway to your other videos, mostly the Subaru ones. I was 15 at the time, and now I am 24 still watching all your videos. I never ended up getting a Subaru, but in two months time, I technically will lol. Getting a GR86, I already have the vin! Thanks for all the memories David. I look forward to seeing what you do next.
Congrats on 10 year anniversary, started watching in 2014 and kept coming back to see what you and others were doing with their cars, plus I liked the way you speak, clear, simple and professional.
oh man.... i dont remember my first time seeing smurf, its been that long man, all i remember seeing was the blue integra video you reviewed cus I saw integra and rsx and thinking the rsx was an integra but technically wasnt. I stuck by you through the years and to hear its 10 years since you got the car, I felt happy for you man. And Me wanting to aspire to make a project car, I thank you for reminding me about the message of How the car doesnt make you happy (completely) but how it can make memories, opportunities, meet people and so on. Thank you David.
David, congrats on the 10 years. I want you to know watching your channel and that racing channel gave me motivation to start my own. I’m about 10 months in and I’ve almost got the required watch hours to get monetized. Subs are about 700ish. I’ve had a couple videos shared by haltech and Kozmic motorsports. That was pretty exciting for me. I review cars as well. A few cars I’ve recorded have also been on 1320. Actually last week a Eagle talon that was on their tx2k video that everyone was amazed by I recorded the same day or maybe the day before. He’s a friend of mine. I think you may know the owner too. Summer time is slower for me living in Houston because of the heat so I may record some vlogs about my 2014 5.0 mustang in the time being. Going over the mods and some tech footage. I’ve always been kinda ehhh about recording my own cars because I don’t wanna seem like I’m showing off. I’m gonna give it a go tho.
been watching since the beginning and finally got my own 2019 10spd GT! you are truly an inspiration man thanks for the content and all the good reviews
I can’t believe it’s been a full decade of entertainment and education from you and Smurf David! I was 14 when I started following you and now I own my dream mustang all because of the video you did on the black terminator all those years ago!
First vid of yours I saw was your Porsche 944 video! Binged all your vids after that and I definitely remember that procharger vid! You've always stood out as a down to earth car guy who isn't out to prove anything but just enjoy cars and share the love of the hobby. Be about it!!! Ps I have a bolt on 94 Taurus SHO 5 speed ALMOST ready for you to review down in Phoenix AZ.... Car hasn't ran in 10 years and your vids have helped me live vicariously while I was in a position where I couldn't afford another "cool" car with a young family at home. Thank you David!
Damn I remember watching your videos in class in high school not long after getting my first vehicle, 2001 ram truck, in 2011. It was probably very soon after you started doing reviews of others stuff that I caught on. I’d never thought much about cars before that, they were appliances. But that first solo drive was also in MY truck and it kind of awakened an addiction to these things. I still have that truck. Being in the upper Midwest it shows, SOOO much body rust. But I’ve built the drivetrain with gears/lsd, built trans and lastly I built the engine. Truck has taught me a lot and given me a bit of an irrational confidence on tackling unknowns with cars. Watching your videos of Smurf and how much you’ve raves about the coyote engine in those videos she the other mustangs you’ve reviewed REALLY pushed me towards a Ford when it came time to have something more dependable to daily. I’m now on my 2nd coyote F150 and I could not be happier. These things are cheat codes lol. I hope to boost it one day maybe but I run an E85 flex tune as it’s all over in Iowa and with a gt350 mani/tb package it’s a reliable and extremely fun daily driver.
I have a friend from high school who showed me your videos after telling me he met you at import alliance. He was a big mustang guy and ended up boosting a 2014 track pack mustang gt and it was the first fast car I ever rode in. I think he derived a lot of inspiration from you and your videos. Thanks to your videos and the experience I had in his car I now have the mustang bug
I got into cars because of you, and I can’t express my gratitude in any sort of sentence. Smurff was the reason I loved the ‘13-‘14 Mustangs. I ended up buying a Race Red ‘14 GT not long ago because of you and Smurff.
Always been proud of you as a fellow Richmond native! My little brother and I have been watching since the beginning in 2013 Watching your videos was a way for us to bond when we didn't have many other common interests. Looking forward to running into you in Atlanta someday as I've ended up there as well. Heres to 10 more years of great content!
My son got me in to watching you way back then because I've been a Mustang fan since the 1960's. Hard to think it's been that long you have been doing this.
My 03 cobra is my one that I won’t let go, still have it. I’ve been watching since you were a really young dude. Congratulations where you were able to make it and wish many more years
That's crazy...10 years..I remember that 2016 Year..I moved from Snellville/ATLANTA area back to Richmond, Va right when you moved to it .. Atlanta was the best choice for you..Car scene is so plentiful.. Congratulations..Keep Grinding!!!
I didn’t realize I’ve been subscribed for over seven years! I remember seeing you procharge Smurf and I didn’t realize that was almost eight years ago. Man time flies, and you deserve all of your achievements and successes David.
First off let me say I’m in love with both of your Mustangs! The first time I saw one of your videos is about a year ago when I got my Mustang and was just trying to learn everything about them and I’ve been watching your vids ever since! Keep them coming!
I came across your videos when I was a teenager just getting into cars. You're only a few years older than me and you had a cool car and a superb personality. I've kept up with you ever since. I look forward to every video. You've definitely been a big inspiration and kind of a go-to for examples of aftermarket stuff. Keep it up man. I'll follow you until you quit youtube
I started watching David my freshman year at Ferris state in 2013. I literally feel like I grew from a teenager into adult hood with him because I’ve seen just about every video since then. I used to love hearing “Welcome to another vloggity vlog” lol you’re the OG car review king and we love you!
I found your channel just before you got Smurf boosted and haven't left. Life hasn't afforded me the chance to live the car life, so I live it vicariously through your channel. Thank you for taking us along on the ride. It's been so much fun to watch.
I'm sorry that I'm not an OG viewer. I might've started watching about 6 years ago. Was great to hear your UA-cam growth story and how Smurrf was always there for you. Hope you can get her running again soon. Thanks for all the awesome content.
I’ve been watching you as long as I can remember, the first video I saw that absolutely set me on my car addicted path was your terminator and review I’ve actually lost track of how many times I watched it. Long story short I would watch your video day in and day out and told all of my friends and myself “I Will” get one of those and two years later ended up buying an 03 Redfire Cobra. I remember seeing your Svt Lightning review and it set the thought In stone and I knew I had to have one in my life. Well another long story short I’m currently typing this in my 2nd gen Lightning lol. You’ve reached out and actually wished me happy birthday on Facebook several times, I remember thinking how crazy it was that ThatDudeinBlue was actually reaching out to say hello to me and wish me happy birthday. You have one of the best and most humble personalities for UA-cam and I love that you haven’t changed into someone you aren’t. You have influenced so many people in a positive way and I for one know the world needs more people like you spreading the positive mindset and posting and just being yourself. David I don’t know any other UA-camr in the car community who deserves it more than you, you are seriously killing it and I love seeing the channel grow and you hitting these crazy milestones.
I don’t remember when I subscribed, but I know it was before you moved to ATL. I was happy for you because the car scene there is great. I knew big things were going to come from it for you. I met you in person at Gridlife 2017 at Road Atlanta. We talked a little bit about everything for 45+ minutes. I didn’t realize my go pro was still recording the whole time. It was so good to meet you. You were so kind and humble. Just a great person to be around! Hope nothing but the best for you man! Keep it up!
I remember when I was ... interestingly enough, about 10 or 11 years ago, I saw the new mustangs and I wanted to see more, and eventually later on while looking later for mustang youtubers I found you and smurf, and at the time I just thought 'wow it's a real person and not just someone who has a bunch of money and can beat the car up and has no worries paying it off. I have wanted a 2011/12 GT/CS black on black, black wheels, and that was that. I set out to find it and couldn't find one .... but... in 2016, after my dad wrecked his 2011 Challenger R/T I got a notification for a black on black GT/CS from car gurus pretty close, around 55k miles (or 58500 i can't ever remember)... and my dad told me 'If you don't go you may never get it'... my dad was laying in his bed, back and neck bracing, so I listened, and I went to at least look at the car... I drove 2 hours north to Jackson, MS and saw the car, it has had dents and dings since it was on the lot, and they said no hail damage, just had some dings. they were minor but I still wanted it... There was also a brand new 2016 GT performance pack 1 that was being sold for almost the same price, about 28-30k at the time, but I didn't want it, I didn't care for the S550 look at all. And... I guess they wanted to sell it because my credit was over 650, I had been working hard, the guy asked me if I could do 500/mo and I told him yes, I didn't care, I didn't have a girlfriend, I had hardly any friends left but I left a 2015 kia optima LX at that dealer lot and drove my 2012 Black on Black GT/CS home that day. And I still have it! It has black wheels (similar to GT-R or GT350, but I got them because I wanted GT-R style wheels, more so than 350's) IT has a few bolt ons, tuned on 93... and I plan for a vortech j7 jtb in the future, potentially building a 3-2-1 swap with forged rods and getting about 1000 wheel... It's going to be a long road, and I am glad you kept smurf. One more small thing... I've been hurt by girls, I thought about smashing the car into a tree, off a cliff, or something equally as bad... and I didn't, because this car has given me so much, it's taken so much abuse, i've learned how to work on cars because of it, and I don't think i could ever sell it, I don't care if I win the lottery tomorrow, this car will get the primary parking over any other car in the world, and I stand by that. It doesn't really bring me happiness... but it's never left me alone, never left me stranded on the side of the road, and I would not change a thing. (P.S. I don't have a name for my car... everything I wanted to name it I backed out on... for one reason or another. names I had were black betty, someone else had it though, Mary (i don't want to talk about it) but Mustang Mary had a nice ring to it..., and a few others i can't think of... ) I swear maybe I should make videos... I think people might enjoy this story if they didn't have to read a book 😂
Sorry for replying so late, I do hope you see this. But Smurf and you of course have been such a huge part of my life, I remember when I first started watching your content back in 2014 and just seeing how amazing Smurf has become over all these years was so fun! and will never forget when I first flew from Florida to Atlanta and went to Caffeine and Octane and saw you and Smurf there, it felt like meeting my heroes. And now I too live in GA and see you all the time (you may remember at the May C&O of this year we talked for hours, you're so awesome and seriously made me feel like we're friends lol)
Man. Right on the feels. I think I first saw one of your videos when I was searching for exhaust for my 2011 GT. I was on my own after consecutive break ups and bought my 2011 for myself as a partial “FU I’m doing this for me!” And was easing into the mods. I remember the procharger video, I remember being scared for you when the Penske truck hit you. I lost my car (Trigger…every cowboy needs a horse. And every famous cowboy had a horse with a cool name…Trigger just seemed to fit mine) in 2017 after taking it out in the rain and making some poor decisions. Damn I miss that car. Anyway, thanks for the content and thanks for the trip down memory lane! Keep it up man!
The last two minutes got my eyes watery. Been here since I created me UA-cam account about in 2013. One of the few guys I’ve hung on to. Keep it up man and well said.
This cars always been a massive staple of your channel and 100% is not the reason but the thing that people know you by. Keep up the good work bro and hope to see Smurf back on the road soon
I remember i found your channel back in 2012 literally because i was looking at a 2011 manual mustang GT and was really excited to start moding (before even having a car) didn't work out though and ended up getting a charger a few years later, but still subscribed because your channel sorta introduced me to this cool car culture that i didn't really know about. So thank you David and Smurf!!
My man! Dude I’m a recent sub but the way you present your work and genuinely speak of your likes and dislikes makes me a fan I’m a 50 year old Asian male that loves your work I’m like binge watching ALL your past uploads and truly can’t get enough Probably your slight sense of humor or just being “real” is so refreshing Thank you truly 🙏
First TDIB vid: Boost and Personality S14. Inspired me to get my S14 (never letting go) and watch every single TDIB vid since. Much love D. Happy 10yr!
Bud I got my love for mustangs from you back in high school when I was a freshman, I’m 26 now lol. Now I’ve went down a rabbit hole with it make around 700 wheel and couldn’t be happier with my choice. Thanks for your long term content and staying true to yourself ❤️
YOU’RE MY BOY BLUE!!!💙💙💙
The first vid I saw was when you reviewed evens is300 and I have been loving your vids since then
"I will never retire!" - Ric Flair & Smurrf.
I think the first time I saw your video was when I was on the 9th grade when I was 15 and I'm 19 turning 20 soon
Have you ever considered tracking down your Black Mustang? That'd be such a cool journey to go down just to see what happened to it. Heck, maybe even repurchase it and do something unique with it.
“It was just me, and Smurf.”
Man, that resonates with me more than you know. Almost teared up a bit.
Outstanding
I literally can’t believe I’ve been following David for so long!!! So freaking great! And yes, I do feel old! At 25 I finally bought my dream 2013 GT! Thanks for all the years of inspiration. Here’s to 10 more years of content!
He also helped me decide to get my 2013 back in 2015. One of the best decisions in my life. So glad to have such a great person making great content.
God I can't even remember when I subscribed, its been forever.
Bro me too 2014 I was 14 lol now I’m damn near 23 .. scary
Me too man. Been on his channel since 2012
I’m 25 too and I feel the same exact way dude, David really does it the best!!
@thatdudeinblue .. YOU and SMURRF have been a constant in my life, through my divorce, and losing a house and some family, you have always there for that support and comfort.. you have let it be known really even without saying it, you have your car which is there for you.. and the people you meet when you go out of your comfort zone.. you have always been there and always will be.. thank you
i am honored that i have been seen by you, again.. thank you.. you have no idea, literal tears boss man.. really. :) @thatdudeinblue
Thanks, David for all you do.
crazy to think u watched this get built 10 years ago! awesome channel and always will be
Damn 10 yrs already. Geez does time fly by quick.
You were seriously an MVP lol🔥
Found you on UA-cam my Sophomore year of college 2014. This channel pretty much started my love for cars. I also learned a lot from this channel. To this day you're the one car UA-camr I still look forward to new videos.
Love your work brother 🤙 Keep being you.
Damn dude your story hits home. Stay positive man. Great content.😎
Been following since 2013 lol crazy to think its been a decade
I feel like every enthusiast has that strong connection with their vehicle, and it's perfectly normal where some nights that's all you need
Dude I can’t believe it’s 7 years I’ve been watching u. First video was the gen 1 mazdaspeed 3 because I had just picked up one. Congrats bro
I can't believe its been 10 years already. Almost in tears. Thank you David
You gave us a shit ton of entertainment for a long time David 👍👍
This car is a classic! Never get rid of her!
Some women ain’t shit. You’ve accomplished so much and continue to grow your channel. You’re living the dream and no women will ever replace that!
I miss those smurff blogs man
oh man.... i dont remember my first time seeing smurf, its been that long man, all i remember seeing was the blue integra video you reviewed cus I saw integra and rsx and thinking the rsx was an integra but technically wasnt.
Been here only a year or two but videos like this make me wish I was around for your whole journey. You’re an inspiration David, thank you!
Literally the reason I bought my 14, 5.0 been watching you since I was 12 years old back in 2012
I got into cars because of you, and I can’t express my gratitude in any sort of sentence. Smurff was the reason I loved the ‘13-‘14 Mustangs. I ended up buying a Race Red ‘14 GT not long ago because of you and Smurff.
Man its cool to see how far you have come with smurf and that its still puts a smile on your face
Love your stuff David 🙂
2 kinds of people. those that understand a relationship with a car and those that don't.
5 or 6 years ago is when I started watching your videos David and I've been a huge fan ever since. Keep up the great work my brotha.
Keep it up!
Miss you buddy. Feel honored to be featured in the video as always. Been missing the goblin a lot recently. Never forget all the memories with you.
(P.S. I don't have a name for my car... everything I wanted to name it I backed out on... for one reason or another. names I had were black betty, someone else had it though, Mary (i don't want to talk about it) but Mustang Mary had a nice ring to it..., and a few others i can't think of... )
I swear maybe I should make videos...
My man! Dude I’m a recent sub but the way you present your work and genuinely speak of your likes and dislikes makes me a fan
I’m a 50 year old Asian male that loves your work
I’m like binge watching ALL your past uploads and truly can’t get enough
Probably your slight sense of humor or just being “real” is so refreshing
Thank you truly 🙏
First TDIB vid: Boost and Personality S14. Inspired me to get my S14 (never letting go) and watch every single TDIB vid since. Much love D. Happy 10yr!
Bud I got my love for mustangs from you back in high school when I was a freshman, I’m 26 now lol. Now I’ve went down a rabbit hole with it make around 700 wheel and couldn’t be happier with my choice. Thanks for your long term content and staying true to yourself ❤️
