@ThatDudeinBlue have you driven a modified (to any length) current gen hatchback Corolla yet? I have a 2022 XSE 6MT with a very short list of modifications that currently include, and will eventually expand from, custom one-off center-exit cat-back exhaust, Titan Motorsports 25mm wheel spacers in the back, rear valance delete (aesthetics), and Riken Raptor directionals sized at 245/45/18 at all four corners. I have several other modifications planned, but it's all being pieces together in stages because I don't have the money to do it all at once lol
I'm all the way in California so we'd have to figure something out for you to drive my car, but I would be honored to be chosen for your review of a modified XSE Corolla hatchback, even if I have to do more before anything can happen.

It is, but the GT500 is a different beast. GT500 does just shy of 1000whp with bolt ons and e85. For a 77k base model (There is one at my local dealership for this price, special ordered buyer backed out probably, as far as I know to get a base they have to be special ordered, but it can be done.) with a warranty its a fuckin deal imo. A mustang GT base costs around 30k. Plus the Odin kit with pro install 12k ish. Brakes, Suspension etc. Looking around 50k-55k for no "real" warranty. Is 20k worth a warranty the 5.2 liter engine and an extra 200hp over a supercharged 5.0 who knows? Now premium to premium. The GT is definetly better bang for your buck. Optioned out the GT500 is hitting 130k. Nuts.

I slapped a blower on my daily driver C6. What I've learned is that reliable power doesn't usually break things, but it will darn speed the process up. I spend a lot of time and money replacing things that were probably going to wear out in another 50,000 miles but instead decided to die now. Killed my trans, needed new rubbers in the torque tube too. Tires are toast. My lifters are questionable. Oh well, keeping it going is my hobby now lol.

I went down the rabbit hole too with my daily like that. when I supercharged my little 03 Tacoma, I had so many problems to solve in the first year. which was funny because everyone said you could put the kit on and nothing needed upgraded. first was I ran out of fuel and needed a bigger fuel pump then my clutch didn't even make it 3'000 miles before it started pushing through it and i could only drive normally with no boost and had to go to an upgraded 6 puck clutch. It also killed the knock sensors , the cam position sensor/ tps sensor, and all the extra fuel got the cat redhot and killed it as well. I even had to put a bigger radiator and engine oil cooler in it.

@@Highlander1432 its the little magnuson mp62 for the 1st gen tacoma 5vzfe 3.4 v-6. they sell it with no fuel mods with a 2.37" pulley so it only makes 5 psi of boost which is around 75 hp. I wasnt't happy with that . I had all the problems because I dropped down to a 2" pulley to make over14 psi of boost and triple the power and added the URD 7th injector piggyback kit and JBA/Doug Thorley headers.. the shitty thing about the mp62 setup is that its non intercooled and creates a ton of extra heat over driving it and It burned the rotorpack bearings up after a year, but I also had a warranty on the supercharger and summit racing sent me a new one. Theres no warranty on the trucks parts though. I'm pushing that little 180hp motor up around 400hp so all the weaker parts and cooling problems from the extra heat started to show. Trucks dialed in now though

Don`t get me wrong there is a certain wow factor to the sound and power of a boosted mustang GT. But it does turn the car into something different. I find it to be more sketchy to drive fast and never really pushing it as hard as a N/A setup. If you want something that is more confident inspiring a 500WHP N/A 5.0L is the sweet spot. I have a 2020 GT CA Special that is in the same place as you were before the blower. I love the thing, I wen with a Lund tune and in S+ and Track/Drag mode the thing pulls. It's not going to walk on anything that's got forced induction, but for a daily is a blast. I want to get a procharger ASAP but saving the $$ is taking a min. The issue I find with the 10 speed in manual mode is, if you are used to a 5-6 speed, its tough to know what gear you should be in at which speed, and how many to down shift when you want to nail it, it even takes the computer a sec to figure out which gear to be in when you nail it.

I will say I thought about supercharging it, but ultimately figured paying more for a turbo setup would be better. Stock block making 640/540 on pump. I will say with the turbos, I get better gas mileage (+3/4 mpg) on the highway if anyone was thinking about. turbo vs. sc. Obviously you. can watch the dollars go down by the minute when you're on it. The only thing is with larger injector duty stock mileage gauge thinks im getting 8 miles to the gallon.

I am researching/pricing out doing a coyote swap in a new edge ‘04 mustang gt and I’ve learned that the stock manual trans was a lot weaker than the corresponding automatic option, even back in 2004.
Auto can handle over 700 ft-lbs while the manual can only handle about 400 ft-lbs.
I’m surprised to hear this is still the case on a mustang 14 years newer and on the platform’s 2nd new chassis since the new edge.

Next time you fill, check Trip A miles and divide that by Gallons filled at the pump.

Beautiful car, and the mods are spot on (cosmetically). I can't even fathom wanting more power than what the new 5 L is putting out.... But then, you get used to everything and then always want more! Having had nine Mustangs in my life, I understand the addiction. I grew up in the hay day of the muscle car resurgence (the old 225hp foxbody days) - and I had a Paxton supercharged notch back that probably had 325 horsepower, and that thing was a stupid handful, but a lot of fun. Probably a 13 second car. To think that the new Mustang 5.0 with a blower more than doubles that is pretty amazing. I'd love to experience it but up here in Vancouver with gas at basically $10 a gallon (!!) - I have to stick to my lowly economical tuned GTI 😄

If the reliability is there, why would you not? The only downside is putting down over 500hp on the street is hard without going to a drag radial which then becomes dangerous in the rain, can’t use it in winter, and gets terrible mileage before needing replacement, so then you’re having to have 2 sets of rear wheels.

Superchargers have a lot of perks when it comes to these cars like you mentioned. Feels stock when driving soft, less parts to worry about, and there is less of a torque spike on the motor. I bet this motor will last a lot longer than if it had a turbo set up since turbo's typically make a ton of torque at lower RPMs. A lot of stress on the internals.
