The songs you didn't know are their original songs. Water was written by Kirstie. This recording was in JAPAN and recorded by an MTV crew, so the quality is really good. PTX is HUGE in Japan. (I believe, Kirstie and Mitch were dressed as anime characters.) Part of their most recent tour was in Japan, Australia and the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe. They will have a USA tour this summer.
I’ve watched this video over 50 times and it never gets old. Perfection. Another excellent live is Joyful Joyful (live from the Evergreen experience). If you want more 🤯 live songs, search songs from the Hollywood Bowl (Miles Reuben channel).
The first two songs and the last one were off their first originals album ("Pentatonix"), a great album. "Water" is probably my favorite from the album. They have a big following in Japan and always enjoy their visits to Japan when touring (especially Mitch and Kirstie). One video they did specifically with their Japanese fanbase in mind is their "Perfume Medley" (Perfume is a JPop Girl Group), and much of it is actually sung in Japanese. You should definitely check that one out. Also, their video of "Rather Be" was shot in Tokyo when they were in Japan on one of their concert tours. It's also a favorite of mine. As others have noted, Mitch and Kirstie were dressed as Anime characters in this one. They've done something similar in a few of their videos, most notably the aforementioned "Perfume Medley" and Kirstie in "Daft Punk".
Well they all ready tell you that three of this song are original, the last One that Kirstin sing she wrote that song, and is my favorite and one of my favorite from her, they are a fantastic group they can do so much, very talent and professionals.
They've been all over the world and on tv in live performances for over a decade. With a 20 million plus fan base, it's surprising how many don't know them. You've probably heard their songs without knowing it was them. Not just pop, but Christmas and most every genre of music. Try another original of theirs...Love Again.
👋😃The evolution videos are LIVE one takes! please react to official videos and live performances. Fun Facts: The Trio, Scott, Kirstie and Mitch are childhood friends from Arlington TX. In highschool The Trio made their own arrangements aside from being in choir and musical theatre, which they grew up doing. In college Avi was an opera/music major he is a basso profundo. Kevin's family are all in the medical field. His father is a doctor, his mother a therapist, his sister a pharmacist and his brother a doctor. Kevin is the oldest of the siblings and he has graduated pre-med at YALE, The goal was to be a heart surgeon, he was invited to audition with The Trio for a televised A Capella show The Sing Off. The rest is history.
As others have said, the Popspring series of concerts is performed in Japan, where PTX has a huge fan base. PTX seems to return the love, because they've done more songs partially or totally in Japanese than any other foreign language: Perfume medley, Pretender, Dear My Friend, Midnight in Tokyo. Perfume medley is a medley of songs from the J-pop girl group Perfume - PTX once performed it in Japan, knowing Perfume was in the audience - talk about pressure! Pretender is sung ENTIRELY in Japanese - and they've performed it on a Japanese variety show during one of their Asian tours - no pressure there either! Dear My Friend and Midnight in Tokyo are both collaborations with the J-pop girl group Little Glee Monster. If you check out Dear My Friend, watch the First Take version - First Take is recorded live with no cuts, no edits - it truly is a first take.
For live performances, I recommend the following: • Hallelujah: ua-cam.com/video/ASYzLoi810k/v-deo.html (This is a recent live stream. The current arrangement of the second verse appears to be designed to show off Matt's full range, which is still growing.) • The Kevin Show/Kevin's Fifth: ua-cam.com/video/DbCasvcNx78/v-deo.html (Note: Just over 13 minutes long, and Kevin used it as a chance for Matt to show off his skill on drums.) • Daft Punk (the official video, their first Grammy winner - watch it before live versions): ua-cam.com/video/3MteSlpxCpo/v-deo.html • Daft Punk private performance, off-mic: ua-cam.com/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/v-deo.html • Daft Punk live from a recent concert: ua-cam.com/video/bIdJJOTyTqs/v-deo.html
There are many live performance recordings available on UA-cam. It can be a bit of a minefield in terms of quality though. There are a few professional recordings like this one that have excellent audio/video quality. The fan recordings can vary a lot in quality. Pentaholics will happily steer you towards the best ones!
Their live videos can be amazing, but some of their Official Videos are pretty wonderful, too (Imagine being a great example of the Official Video beating any live performance). There's a live Hallelujah that you might like - Hallelujah - Pentatonix (From A Pentatonix Christmas Special). The live stuff that's recorded for broadcast tends to have much better sound than the fan cams from concerts. Though there is 1 famous fan cam that will get suggested when you're ready. Enjoy!
Ya the mind just blanks out the fact there are no instruments. I actually like the live Evolution of MJ more than the official. I Love the song Water. The great thing is you know live what you are going to get. World class A Capella. All 3 were originals. Then their Evolution of MJ. Great reaction, loved it. Another great Live is their concert from BYU, especially "Joyful, Joyful."

All four songs are great, but I favor Water.
Recommend their cover of The Prayer.

How did I miss this? Well I know, my son just got married yesterday and I’ve been stupid busy! Yay I’m so excited!
Absolutely.... Always live with PTX!
