100%. I'm not really an Immortal fan but my friend used to play this all the time when we were teenagers, and I've always loved it.
Sons of Northern Darkness is the single best black metal album ever laid down. Sheer brutality from start to finish. Dissonant, yet melodic.

In general, I'm not a Norwegian Black Metal fan, but Immortal rises above genre limitations. Horgh on drums is a beast!

I remember when I first discovered this in 8th grade when this video came out, I had never heard anything like it, I couldn’t even comprehend what the guitar was doing or how the drums were even possible. Needless to say I’m still a huge fan of immortal, just loved them from the moment I found this

This is the only black metal band I can enjoy listening to... It doesn't sound as raw as Mayhem or Burzum... Not implying that these bands are bad... It's just that I like when riffs are well put together with the vocals and drums it sounds pretty decent to me
Mayhem have alot of variety in their material! Maybe ”Chimera” by mayhem could work for you?

Immortal for me is one of the very best entry level BM bands. You can't go wrong with them. Black Metal in general is supposed to sound raw. If you're interested i could recommend you a good chunk of Black Metal bands.

Damnnn....since Motorhead and Metallica, I have never seen just a blast of wonderful noise played so awesomely tight! My black metal years are a bit over by now, but I can still appreciate a bunch of musicians playing like this!
Was feeling tired and in pain and needed motivation for the GYM this evening and I came across this again after years and my adrenaline & testosterone levels shot through the roof!
I first watched this when I was just getting into metal at the age of 13 or so and found the video quite spooky tbh
I'm not an Immortal fan , but One By One is a heavenly piece (peace) of music which i really love & appreciate :)
