I do want to fish for lingcod, and have absolutely no idea where to start! Thank you for making this video! I love eating lingcod, and my wife and I in Olympia WA just got our first sailboat, so I am super excited to try out some lingcod fishing !! Thanks again for the clear instruction.
You bet! We are actually hosting a training tonight for an hour on lingcod fishing. Feel free to check out our Facebook group if you'd like! We have guest experts on every week. :) Welcome to the best sport ever!! urlgeni.us/facebook/anglersunlimitedcommunity
From the opening shot, I was pretty sure of your general location.. We have a house on Center Island, which is in Area 7 west. We drift along the edges of Lopez. Just like you guys are doing. Awesome video.
I think thats a Penn Deep Sea Reel No. 149. A classic for sure. It can even use carbontex drag washers too, so it still has plenty of life in it, for those willing to go old school.
To everyone out there Topdedge111 had it correct, to not use this knot with braid, it is one of the worst for braid. It will slip and it will slip to the point that the tag end slips through the eye and you will loose the fish and the lure. Other than that, she has it correct. Just use a knot that will hold with braided.
Would love it if you would link a video or let people know what knot should be properly used for braid! Seems like an excellent learning opportunity for all, including me. :)
Sure did! And somehow I have manage to catch several lings with the "wrong" knot! Would love it if you would link a vido or let people know what knot should be properly used for braid! Seems like an excellent learning opportunity for all, including me. :)

Use a Palomar knot for braided line
We use a uni knot for braid most of the time, and have never had one slip or pull loose.
Your a awsome lady keep it hooked
Tell me you didn’t tie a clinch knot with braid smh

@@anglers-unlimited I think for braid just use a Palomar knot strong and very easy to tie
I use clinch knots with braid all the time and I've never had one slip out. You just have to use plenty of wraps.
Yup, it’s all in the wraps, never believed in the palomar knot for any purpose whatsoever, no cushion at all.
