      Wow!!!Your comment made my day!!! I am still in the "Wonder Years"' of Ducati ownership...I fell in Love with a ST4S , loaded with accessory/performance upgrades,hot sexy style,surprising power,Handling beyond my expectations and current skill set, purebred and full of history and with 33k mi. !!! Til death do us part!!!Full of suprises (good mostly and sometimes bad)...I never in my life expected to Love and hate anything like this...all the joy, frustration,thrill etc. Has been my motivation to battle and hopefully conquer the cruel demon within the electrical system. Narrowed it down to the rect/relay...hope to be riding it daily soon on the many fun,twisty roads we are spoiled with here in San Diego, So Cal....I haven't posted anything lately but will soon...I am still married to 5 Bandit 12's!!! This Duc' is my Mistress for life!!! Just found a "Foggy" hat and am slowly discovering the reason for the respect.

    I went through the same process with my Busa and it’s been so worthwhile, amazing how great bikes get into the hands of people that just don’t appreciate them for what they are.

    You’ve done an incredible job of getting this ST3 to where you want it to be Andy! All in good time! It’s a great tourer & still has that unmistakable Ducati sound that can never be replicated! A true Ducati man you’ve become 🇮🇹🇦🇺🙌

    Done a good job with the bike Andy looks great , I was looking at those but bought a 2009 1100 monster and I have to say it has the worst seat on any motorbike I've ever ridden ! But I can change that . Love watching your vids I'm going to rewatch the one on the dry clutch quietener mine is way too loud .

    I do have a ST3 dry clutch, some owner before me tuned it with KN filter and ST4 exhaust. It's has larger pipes and louder silencer. It's a bit hard in engine in 140km/h and above.

    The Supersport is one of the prettiest bikes around.
    But the ST3 looks definitely grow on you. That and they are well priced in the used market.

    It still is a great looking and sounding bike!
    The sport-touring segment is coming back, that was one of the earliest models of that segment:
    I'm going to Italy in november to take a look at the new Moto Guzzi V100, that is also a great looking bike.

    Enjoying watching your videos. Got a question if you could be so kind to answer it. What fuel do you run the motorcycle on? Reason for asking is I’m in UK and all the unleaded fuel is now E10 and this bike is not compatible with E10 fuel. I wonder if you had any issues like this and what your done about it. I just try using E5 in my ST4s.

    • @ANDY5
      @ANDY5  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, I use 95 RON unleaded petrol. We have pretty good petrol here in Australia and I’m not familiar with what is available in the UK but your owners manual should state what you need to run for your region. It’s all about the compression ratio and the petrols resistance to pre ignition or detonation. If I can’t find a service station with 95 Octane I will buy 98, many servos here will stock either or. 91 octane and E10 are definitely prone to preignition, particularly on long runs when the spark plugs become heat soaked. Combine that with 11.3:1 compression ratio and it is not an ideal combination for 91/E10.

    • @mickmorris1394
      @mickmorris1394 2 роки тому

      @@ANDY5Less problems with injector fouling when using the 95 (Shell normally) when compared to 98 RON due to the octane lifting additives used for the 98 (in Australasia anyway); especially if the engine has not been regularly run or fuel stabilised. I have the ST3s chipped, carbon pipes , airbox etc; goes very well! Great vid Andy; enjoy the ride and shiny side up.

    Hi Andy, excellent videos! I’m looking at a 2005 ST3 ABS tomorrow, 14,000 miles. Looks great in photos, he’s asking $5300 US dollars. Says always maintained by local Ducati mechanic, with records.
    Any suggestions on “watch outs” that could burn me down the line? Much appreciated!

      Not really mate. They have one or two known failure points, such as the rec/reg. I can’t think of anything else at the moment but they are a pretty solid bike. Make sure that the oil level sight glass is clear. They are known for getting a little milky from condensation that forms in the engine, and that’s okay, just make sure that it doesn’t look super milky like there is coolant mixing with it.

    • @NavySWO
      @NavySWO 4 місяці тому

      Thank you! Appreciate the advice, I hope the bike is a solid deal. Take care and be well.

    Andy, can I ask how many kms on the ST3 when you bought it? It looks great, especially in that colour. I got the very last ST4S in Aussie stock (according to NF Imports) and it’s a red one. I still have it and enjoy it, but wish it was grey after looking at yours lol 😂
