Fantastic video, the best one yet! I’m torn between any of the 888’s or the uk spec RC30! It’s very generous of the owner to allow access to this amazing collection, thank you so much.
An AMAZING collection of "CROTCH-ROCKETS". The local Can-am shop hired me at age 13 & my boss started taking me to Daytona Bike Week in 1973. Our AMA M/C CLUB flagged the Road Racing practices & races. 1973 the RR Bikes were air cooled, drum brakes, spoke wheels. We were right in the middle of all the action in the pits, starting grid, and track, riders.I learned a great appreciation for RR bikes,& riders. Back in those days all teams used box trucks & vans, well we happened to be standing in the pit/garage area when Team YAMAHA 53' BIG RIG Tractor trailers pulls in and unloads Kenny Robert's tz-750. This bike looked like something NASA made. Mag wheels, triple disc brakes, in-line 4cyl. liquid cooled 2stroke, 4expansion chambers, monoshock. Kenny lapped the 2nd place rider in the Daytona 200 and nobody was surprised due to the advanced technology YAMAHA put into this bike. Thank You
Awesome video mate, that’s a collection of my dreams! A couple of slight corrections to note re the WSBK championship, when it started, who Tardozzi rode for etc. 😊 The World Superbike Championship began in 1988 where Fred Merkel won both the ‘88 and ‘89 championships on his RC-30. Davide Tradozzi rode for Bimota in 1988 on the very trick YB4ei-r (Yamaha FZ 750 powered with EFI) finishing 3rd in the championship. It was Marco Lucchinelli who gave the 851 a win on debut at the first WSBK round at Donington in April 1988. After finishing second behind Bimota’s David Tardozzi in Race 1. He took the flag in Race 2 ahead of eventual series winner Fred Merkel (Honda RC30). These days I’m a bonafide Ducatista but I have also owned an RC-30 (years ago now) and completely agree with your comments re handling, they are a sublime bike to ride!
Yes 916 was an absolute game changer in superbike history…as in ways with its power and style things like the fireblade and the R1 had there times…particularly as game changing cool road bikes..widow makers’ unfortunate apt term. GSXR’s very much part of that…Awesome bikes, all of them …and this coming from a GSXR lover ….sh•t and the ZXR’s need there mention too…sherbet I’m getting emotional…back in the day. Rider aids were your right wrist. None of this anti wheelie bollocks…traction and crap. That’s what riding a powerful bike must be ..keep the front down or control the wheelie. Sure lap times will be slower but that’s riding not relying on electronics to control that…
It was wonderful to hear Shane talking about the late Steve Hislop. The other chat about racing days gone by (in particular the WSS championship at its heyday when 600's were THE bike to own) was wonderful. I grew up watching the 916's through to the 998's racing in BSB and WSBK, was fortunate enough to be at brands in 1999 with that MASSIVE attendance, and also later on when Shane did the double as a wild-card. Wonderful memories, great times. Thank you.
My favourite is the bike that shakey defended his championship on. I was there on the final weekend and it was such a thrilling spectacle! Also the sportsmanship shown when Leon was carried down to congratulate shakey after he had crashed out was just amazing. Still a big Shane sized hole in the bsb line up!
Slightly late to this video but what a treat. Incredible knowledge and passion which is infectious. Thank you both, and especially to the owner for sharing their collection.

My favourite bike? The one you didn’t mention and Shaky even had is hand on it when he said he had no more nerdy info! The “Supermono”. Plenty of nerdy stuff around that one, especially when you start looking at the engine. Can you go back and do a whole show on just that one bike please? 🤣 By the way World Supers started in ‘88 at Donington, Tardozzi did win race 1 but on a Bimota. Ducati won race 2 with Marco Lucchinelli. Great video, I wished places like these were open to the public.
WOW and what excellent commentary by Shakey as it made even this room full of special bikes, come alive for me with racing and other memories. Nice work both.
I'm not a bike guy, but I have and sadly had many many friends with bikes, especially Ducatis, but I still feel tingling when I see a collection like this ... If I'll trust myself to buy a bike it's gonna be Duce Monster btw.. P.S.: Gotta thank Shane for arranging this, it was really something special !! Would love to see him more on the channel
Amazing collection and shakey is the perfect man to showcase it, thanx to whomever the owner is for presenting it! Id have the rs250, always loved that series.
Incredible!! I have the start of a collection just like this, only it's 1/12th scale! Great to see you Shakey getting into your zone after such an epic career. Hope to see you racing again in the future, and would be great to bump into an old friend at an event one day soon... it's been too long mate!
Fantastic collection of bikes. MR Shane Shakey has a wonderful way of delivering an engaging story. I remember when 851 arrived on the superbike scene and changed everything. So the 851 would be my favourite for sentimental reasons, or is it the any other V twin or V4, how the hell is someone suppose to choose ?! I remember watching the Australian Superbike Championship and hearing those 'V' config engine bikes above the inline fours, that will stay with me till my last days.
Just come across this episode and Thank you so much to the owner for sharing his collection and thank you shakey for passing on your knowledge. I wish it went on for an hour or two.
Thanks so much, Shakey and John! Unbelievable collection of bikes and very interesting stories and facts. My favourite bike is Ducati 1098 which Troy Baylies won the wsbk championship 2008!!!
just incredible, the whole collection is stunning. To walk between that lot let alone own them would give me goose bumps. Amazing content thank you very much
amazing collection of superbikes, for the speedway fans a trip to the national speedway museum would make a great programme ,some very famous bikes on show
What a fantastic episode of nostalgia. I was smiling ear to ear. My Mrs couldnt stop listening to me sharing my excitement and names of all these bikes from back in the day. Man what a privilege to see this... Duke 916 hands down the best and sexiest of the lot.
I'm definitely a Honda biased guy. With that being said, 100% Nicky's bike. Such a tragic loss. I've been a huge fan for as long as I can remember. Man, what a cool video! Such a pleasure to hear Shakey speak about the history of this collection. I much enjoyed it.
Johnny, the quality continues! Your content is always superb and shout out to Shakey as well. All that is left now is to drag @sniffpetrol on once in a while.
Always been a Ducati lover and especially in Superbikes! what a fabulous collection of bikes. Shane Shakey Byrne was a fabulous rider seen him many times on UK circuits.
Wow what a collection. My favourite is the NH Fireblade that he won in Malaysia on. What an absolute find. The owner is obviously extremely wealthy and I understand why he wants to remain anonymous. So thank you to the owner for allowing The Late Brake Show to visit. Shakey is nearly as good to watch presenting as he was to watch racing. Love this channel.
What a wonderful collection, I'm so pleased you've been able to share it with us. Hats off to Shaky and all concerned for a brilliant, knowledgeable and passionate presentation 🤩
On 20:48 Mr Byrne tapped the (yellow) but of the ducati supermono racing motorcycle. I bet they had to make choices about what to tell - yet that motorcycle does have a really interesting story behind it that pre-dates the duc 916. A little bit of reading in wikipedia will give you an idea about it.

Wowsers, One of the best videos, such a great run down on bikes, knowledge and banter, would happily watch the full unedited version.
Awesome collection, thanks to the owner for sharing and for you both for your presentation, especially Shakey with your wealth of knowledge !!
I met Shane with my son years ago at a BSB race and he was brilliant to talk to. Great video
Great stuff Shakey and Jonny. Thanks so much for a glimpse of undoubtedly the best (mainly) Ducati bike collection in the UK..... Fantastic
Shakey has come such a long way since I used to read his road tests in the 90's Fast Bikes magazine....I loved that mag. ( I'd take the UK spec' RC30)
Im not a bike person at all...but WOW WOW WOW! Amazing. Loved watching this. ❤
Amazing collection and shakey is the perfect man to showcase it, thanx to whomever the owner is for presenting it! Id have the rs250, always loved that series.
Absolutely gobsmacked watching this!! And Shakey turning into a first class presenter. THANKS!!!
Absolutely beautiful collection. Thanks Shane and Jonny. You two are chemistry working together. I'll take Shaky,s bike please
Byrne out needs to crank out many more episodes please. FAST! I absolutely love this show!

I'm literally watching this from a Tesco Staff room lmao. Also, for me, I'd have to take home a Honda RC30, they just look soo good.
I'd wheel out the 916. It's my absolute dream bike. Fantastic episode guys I really enjoyed this.
amazing collection of superbikes, for the speedway fans a trip to the national speedway museum would make a great programme ,some very famous bikes on show
Brilliant Shakey ....your a natural....your knowledge is impeccable too mate ...Great addition to the channel ...
Joey Dunlop RC40 Honda would be my favourite bike. Thanks for sharing the collection. Cheers mate from Australia 🇦🇺
Just sublime, thanks to all involved in sharing those beautiful dukes. Its the 888 for me. never forget seeing one those for the first time.
Congratulations guys, this is one of the best bike collection videos I have ever seen, fantastic
Excellent episode. What’s great is the stories and personal insights Shakey can add to a collection tour like this.
Massive thanks to the owner for giving us the opportunity to see this incredible collection!
It's so hard to pick a favourite from these.
Yea shakey and Johnny, great episod. Loved it !!!! I just want to smell that room !
Keep up the fantastic work !
Wow.. Wow.. You guys kept me buzzing through that place. What a collection. The perfect tour of that Magnolia office. Thank you 🙏 Jamie
Great collection great video superb history lesson from Shane. Bike for me would have to be RS 250 , 2 stroke fan till my dieing day
What a wonderful collection, I'm so pleased you've been able to share it with us.
Shaker is like a walking encyclopedia. Just amazing!! And what a collection!!
