    • @2Good2BeTrue45
      @2Good2BeTrue45 5 місяців тому

      You can tell he wants yo be successful on the big screen amd get a long term role in a big tv series.
      Those jobs you mentioned do not pay well at all are part of the "grind" before you get to where T.C Carson was. T.C Carson, being one legendary sitcom, making the money he was making, being the voice of Kratos before he was unceremoniously kicked out for Christooher Judge before the technology could get get his performances even greater, etc cannot just go to do anything, which is the same sentiment he spoke of in this interview

    • @oliverseoliverse
      @oliverseoliverse 5 місяців тому

      @2Good2BeTrue45 Don't big time Broadway names make an enormous amount of money? You were saying Broadway and a professorship are more like the grunt/grind but my understanding is that there are levels of acclaim in them both that command high pay. Now, I agree he most certainly wants success commensurate to his experience and I think he is overlooked by the industry. He is a gem that really isn't hidden but is treated like he is. Of course actors have multiple streams of income, so I don't think Broadway and teaching would be his only work. I was just saying those are things he would be amazing for.

      I think what he meant was that he knew he had a specific calling. And based on that conviction, his calling won't allow him to accept anything less. Fast food and low skill jobs are used to represent the least a person can pursue or accomplish. Although respectable, some people are aware of a "higher" purpose. I don't think that was a diss. He's never presented that kind of mindset.

    You can go work retail. Geoffrey Owens from The Cosby Show worked at Trader Joe’s until things got back right. I know it’s hard, humility is a tough lesson. I’ve been humbled before. I have 2 degrees, lost my job and family and took a job boxing bleach so I wouldn’t be homeless. I was weeks away from it. Also, lost my truck during that time.

      The problem is some of these Hollywood actors live above their means. My mom always told me if you make $10 an hour and if you get another job making 20$ still live like you are making $10 an hour! I have 2 used cars that are paid for and my home is paid for also because I knew how to live within or even under my means!

      I understand what you're saying, but I think a lot of people takes other people's Journey personal and get offended when they say something that isn't aligned with what we feel like what we should be doing. And heck he's 65, I'm more than sure he doesn't have the capacity for that. Heck I retired from retail after a few years.
      He is not Geoffrey Owens, and his purpose is not to work in retail, and that's fine. He is an artist so he probably needs to feel fulfilled and he's probably has done enough of the ground work to exhaustion and doesn't have the capability to do it anymore. He doesn't even need to work in retail, he is an established actor with lots of talent and he's respected, all he needs to do is find a way to translate his talents to the now.

People get a little taste of being able to pay their bills with their art and when they can’t, they don’t feel like they can go back into the regular world for fear of embarrassment. I’m not saying anyone should dream of having a job at target but save your money and work. Whatever job helps you pay the bills while you work on your craft is a blessing, not a detriment.
