Geoff isn't the lowest bass - and he's fine with that. What he does have is probably the richest, smoothest, silkiest tone of any of the big name basses.

He's the best bass, in my opinion, even though not the lowest. My own chest range has him beat by 3 semitones, my subharmonic register has him beat by over 1/2 an octave, my fry range has him beat by 2 octaves... he can sing better than I could ever dream of. Most basses don't have instant access to their range the way he does.
OMG, can't imagine a better performance of this epic song. They are simply wonderful and phenomenal. Best performance so for we've seen of them. Thank you so much for sharing this. In their cover of the HALO theme, Geoff hits a B0. This is Geoffs' arrangement and putting in VIOLAYNE was just the icing on the cake. Pick anything on VoicePlays or Geoff's channel and I'll be here.

When he's not singing lyrics, Geoff is imitating (pretty successfully!) a bass guitar line throughout the song.
This is only the 2nd time that VoicePlay has used an instrument in a video; the first was in Warriors, where Layne played violin again, and a little from J. None as well.
Because VoicePlay is actually the longest running a cappella group of the Big Three (Pentatonix, Home Free, and VoicePlay), they've had a number of personnel changes over the years, especially in the last 3 or so. They are currently down to 4 permanent members, so they've been using guest artists to fill in the missing slot. Just fair warning that you'll be seeing various different faces in other VoicePlay videos, but all of them are amazing singers and do a fantastic job.

He shows off his base pretty well in Oogie Boogie . And that is a good introduction to how this group does theater musical video game songs with a complete production.
There are two other bass you should hear. One is Avi in early Pentatonix (Daft punk is a good example)

Not only can Geoff rock your world with his bass notes, but he also arranged this masterpiece of a cappella wonder! Geoff and Layne (beatboxer and violinist) usually split the arrangement duties for VoicePlay between them, and they both are just excellent at making the most of the voices and talents they have available.
VP Recommendations: Halo theme (Geoff hits his lowest recorded note so far - subharmonic B0 not once, but twice), The DragonBorn Comes (Skyrim), We Don't Talk About Bruno
In a growl, he can hit A0 - the last key on the piano, in subharmonics, he can hit B0, in full chest it starts at F#1, and his highest note is A5 in falsetto. VoicePlay has over 800 videos and I've listened to all but a few that I missed. There isn't a bad one in the bunch. This one is my favorite but I do have lots of others: I Can't Make You Love Me, We're Good, Warriors (done 3 yrs ago, the last time Layne played his violin for us and earned the nickname VioLayne), should be followed by Dream On (Geoff calls it Warriors 2), Dragonborn Comes, Hoists the Colours, In the Hall of the Mountain King. for starters.

Cool. Yeah. The better place is Orlando Florida where Voiceplay is. Theme park capital of the world. That's basically how they got they're love of performing. They all performed at Disney World, Universal Studios or both in shows. Geoff was Frankenstein in the Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue for 10 years at Universal Studios. His wife Kathy was Bride of Frankenstein.

He can go very low. There's a reason he works on his bass range. In live shows, he gets a lot of females squealing when he goes low. :) A good example of his low range is his Over The Misty Mountains Cold. But for a prettier song. his Shenandoah is lovely.
High and Dry is another amazing solo song for Geoff
His recent cover of Till Then is also lovely.
being a child of the 60's and 70's acapella groups were bigger them than now, and i must say these guys are phefrigginnomenal. especially considering the black album is my favorite metallica album.

Side note. Scott Porter, former member who left to pursue an acting career, is back as a guest on the Halo theme. He was the original beatboxer. When he left, Layne Stein (whom you just saw with the violin) switched from baritone to being the primary beatboxer. Permanent member baritones since then have been Tony Wakim, JNone, and now Cesar De La Rosa. JNone went into the Navy, but he stops back in and works with Voiceplay whenever he's on leave. So, in this Nothing Else Matters vid, you actually have three baritones (JNone, Cesar, and Layne). Eli is the only tenor. But realistically, pretty much all of their permanent members and guests have wide ranges.

Ahoj Lucie, podle jména jsem odhadla, že budeme krajanky 🙂 Voiceplay je nejlepší Acapella. Jsou vtipní, písně nezpívají, ale "žijí" a mají neskutečný "náboj". Pokud o nich budeš chtít vědět víc, stačí napsat. Přeji Ti úžasné chvíle s Voiceplay.
@@lucievreacts Kapela vznikla už v roce 1996. Jak šel čas, obsazení měnilo. Některé členy jsem s nimi ani neviděla. Do jisté doby bylo nejlepší obsazení: Deoff, Layne, J. None, Ellie a Earl. ... Geoff Castelluci - dlouhé vlasy - (křestní se čte Džef, ne Džeof). To je basový základ, ale má hlasový rozsah 5 oktáv. Jeho hlas je neskutečně hladký a oblý, jestli mi rozumíš. Layne Stein - beatboxer - jeden z nejlepších a nejkreativnějších. S Geoffem na sebe skvěle slyší. Geoff basová kytara a Layne skvělé bicí a všechny perkuse. Vedle Geoffa sedi J. None - teď už bývalý člen. (Odešel do armády). V této písni hostuje. Místo něj přišel skvělý Cesar (ten druhý tmavý kluk). Jeho hlas je jemný a sametový a je to miláček. A uprostřed je Ellie ( Elí). Zpíval v rokové skupině, což je znát na jeho nakřáplém hlase. Je to takový diblík. 🙂 Produkci i aranžmá dělají Geoff a Layne A Geoffova manželka má myslím možnost přítupu do studií a ke kostýmům. Ale tím si nejsem jistá. Snad Ti to trošku pomohlo. Moje nejoblíbenější videa jsou:Trilogie Panic at the disco 1. a 2. part a Billie Eilish i 3 minutes. Toto pořadí je nejlepší, protože 3. díl vysvětluje, co předcházelo. Nicméně jedničku a trojku můžeš prohodit a budeš to mít jako takový seriál. Potom We dont talk about Bruno, Hoist the colours z Pirátů z Karibiku.... A rada na závěr. Pokud si pustíš Just sing, uvidíš, kdo všechno s nimi zpíval. Titulky jsou u toho nutností. :-) Tak snad máš o čem přemýšlet a už teď se těším na Tvoje první reakce :-)
