Germany wants STEM workers from India. The rapid population decline in Germany is set to affect its economy. In today's day and age, a productive STEM graduate is the most important resource. More valuable than oil or any mineral. Getting closer to India will help Germany tremendously. On an economic front, China was at the same level in 2007 as India is today when seen from the perspective of GDP. 15 years later, China is a powerhouse. India now has the largest English speaking population in the world, and the world can benefit from this human reservoir.

Regular less educated Westerners might be finding it uncomfortable if India buys Russian oils but Western policy makers are totally happy India buying Russian oil at such huge discounts. Russia has to sell it at thin margins of profits. India can and probably sells the excess Russian oil at profits to other western countries. Everyone wins here apart from Russia.

India's views on Russia are simple, it helped India supply weapons and oil when democratic nations like US, Germany, and UK supported Pakistan during the war in 1971. The USA brought its Navy fleet to the Bay of Bengal in support of Pakistan, USSR (Russia) supported India by sending it nuclear submarine fleets, In the end, Pakistan was defeated and 93000 Pakistani soldiers were captured. India has been warning the world about Pakistan's terrorism and military dictatorship on the world stage but the whole world ignored India's warning. Before the 9/11 attack, India faced several terrorist attacks, later Osama Bin Laden was found next to Pakistan military compound. So, Russia helped India in need and helped India defend itself by supplying weapons from communist China and military dictatorship Pakistan its homegrown terrorists. Now, when Russia attacked Ukraine, why should India support Ukraine? when the superpowers like the USA, Germany, UK are supporting Ukraine. India imports oil because the European union started buying oil from the Middle East to replace Russian oil at higher prices than the people of India can afford. So, India is importing oil from Russia to keep the price of oil normal, and to help the Indian economy run so people in India can survive. I don't see anything wrong done by India.
