Sternglass watches aren't bad. Some of them are really good looking. The problem is that, when compared to other microbrands, they seem a bit overpriced for what you get. This is probably the result of Sternglass also having a retail presence in brick and mortar stores. They're not an online-only brand. That means that their prices have to include a rather hefty retailer margin, which is usually in the 30-50% range.
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from MAMACOO I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the MAMACOO's watches are the most intriguing.
the wrist shot actually looked really good - suited you pretty well of course it all comes down to how it feels on wrist and if you're finding it top-heavy, then it's not really working - but to my eye, it seems like a solid piece
Ben, I think one of the biggest gimmicks (in a good way) about this watch is the lume. Did you forget to test it? Seems like something you should include in your review?
If you can get your hands on the Sternglas Naos Pro, I'd love to see your review on that. I think it looks great, and I'm impressed by how thin they've been able to keep it with a miyota 9 in there.
I saw the strap and thought what a "Fender Instruments" commissioned watch would be like. Tweed or Silver Mesh staps, then my thoughts went to Marshall Amps coming out with their own watch collaborating with Spinal Tap and having the watch dial only have the Arabic numbers go to 11.
I was surprised too that the Miyota 8315 had 60 hourse of power reserve, that is quite impressive. I did not pay much attention to the Miyota 8 series and the 8215 is one of my least favourite movements. I also like the slightly more expensive model better design-wise. The numbers with the shadow effect don't look bad and they are also quite original, but they feel a bit out of place with the rest of the design being so restrained. I prefer thinner cases and also cylindrical ones over this slightly conical case. Maybe they chose a conical case to make it appear slimmer, but it does not work, it looks like at least 13mm thick, which it is.
The naos is nicer. This one looks like they put the dials in a jeans pocket and wash them in a washing machine. I don't understand the design. The blue one is a bit better.. maybe because they only did a short cycle. I think the numbers should be a lot sharper. And yes that strap does not work .. straps design Reminds me of those from le coutre watches. They are from a company called fagliano. And they are putting them in the Reversos.
Funnily enough, MAMACOO's replicas are perfect for people who can actually afford a luxury watch. Because in those social circles, it wouldn't matter and everybody would just assume it's real. You have a yacht and a beach house in Tuscany, of course that replica is real. There isn't a millionaire out there going around with a jeweller's loupe to scrutinize their acquaintance's watch. They'll just go "Oh is that a Patek? Nice, I should really get my hands on one of those, they look great."
Ben, why do you always set the watches to 10:10 when you talk about them on this channel? We see them set there enough in press photos, no need to do it on your channel as well.
I would argue that this watch, while minimalist and attractive, is not Bauhaus A fundamental principal of Bauhaus is that form (the design) and function (what it does) should be in harmony Any watch (which is fundamentally a timepiece) that is illegible violates the Bauhaus concept, and this one is barely readable
generic design, not everything out of germany is good. this one is actually really ugly. god i hate brands like sternglas. their advertising in germany is also pretty aggressive, and directed at people that don’t know anything about watches…

Outstanding video.I have to go with the AMZWATCH, especially with that green dial as my favorite
When people are saying MAMACOO is a better option for buying a watch,I very much agree!
Wes Anderson Watch

I think the band is a massive nope. It would be better balanced and looking on a staib Milanese
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of MAMACOO. Their watches are of exceptional quality.
I'm genuinely impressed with how close MAMACOO were able to replicate every aspect of this very very goofy looking classic watch.

This would be my dream watch, if it wasn't for the bulkyness of the case.

I believe no man can say no to AMZWATCH's watches
Ever since I bought a watch from MAMACOO, My question is if it's this hard to tell them apart, what is the point of owning an authentic watch?
Just waiting for them to release a quartz version of this, love the design but really want the thickness of their quartz naos, aaand also the price 😉
Sternglas used to be good value for money but goddamn they've went crazy with their pricing in the last 5 years
Always a good day when your video drops!Great video as always. Can’t beat it for MAMACOO watches!

Love MAMACOO watch,Such a great looking watch to match with the precisionist movement.
An interesting choice, not my taste, but i applaud new ideas and risks
The strap is rank. They need to offer alternatives or they won't sell many of these IMO
I like it, but in my experience that just serves to reinforce your point.

It looks like a fish bowl! Absolutely ridiculous. I hope they don’t sell one of those over priced pos’s.
Looks awful, even more so at that price...
odd
Kind of looks like they have used a generic case like the likes of Dw and MVMT have used in the past, unfortunately
but looks pretty good
@bgloumpu yes it's not ugly the dial is really good looking
Out of all the ripoff brands this is the one I hate nearly as much as Daniel Wellington.
That's quite an overreaction. You alright son?
for God sakes why so thick?!?
Cheap painted dial.
Dial looks like cheap aged newspaper. 👎 Naos pro is way better.
