I rode this over and over as a teenager. I love this roller coaster, it is by far my favorite ride of all time. Went back for the first time in about 10 years today and took my 10 yr old daughter, 8yr old and 5 yr old sons. Much to my surprise my 8 yr old rode it with me. I was worried because he is on the autism spectrum. But he loved it... Proud dad moment!
Thanks CoasterForce for posting this. This was my first roller coaster :). It felt like seeing an old friend again after so long. I went to Denver in 1999 and remember riding this thing XD. My dad rode with me, and I remember gripping the lap bar so hard it had fingerprints in it when we pulled back into the station.
Shorter ride then Mr. Twister unless the video was cut. Sounds like the wheels stay on the track. That was what I always put my stomach in my throat with Mr. Twister. It would leave the track on the steep down hills. God that brings back great memories! Old Elitches was such a blast!
What a SWEET looking coaster! Wishing I could afford a drive or flight out yonder to try Twister II and Sidewinder (formerly Roaring Tornado at Magic Springs) for myself.
I went to this park once, in 1990, and rode all of the coasters that were there at the time. All of them are gone now except Sidewinder. Mr. Twister was the roughest, loosest coaster I've ever been on. This looks to carry on that tradition.
Went to Elitch Gardens sometime in the late 70's with the extended family from Denver. All I remember is getting off the Mr. Twister and headed straight for the Wildcat, back to the Twister, think we did that half a dozen times.
They should really get rid of the water park section and put some more rides. I know water parks are popular, but Denver is just too cold most of the year to really benefit from it. An RMC raptor would be perfect there. Cedar Fair should think of buying this park as they currently have no park in the mountain west. They've done great work with the park in San Jose and that park is landlocked in the middle of a big city too.
Ah, good ol' Twister 2...or 'The Backcracker' as my friends and I called it. Haven't been to Elitches since the summer of '01, I think it's about time I went back.
This was my first roller coaster and I've heard news about the park shutting down within the next few years and imma be so sad bc this place is my child hood, so what the rides are bumpy and rough I still love them, best experience that only Coloradans would know.
Missile but like... I don't want one that goes upside down or that goes backwards.... My brother went on the Sidewinder first and now he hates roller coasters and the boomerang is too fast for me😕😕😕😕😕
September Queen Boomerang would be the way to go. Half pipe is too high, twister is too intense, sidewinder hurts too much, and mind eraser is way too intense. Boomerang is not as fast as you think it is, just try to sit as close to the middle as possible (and sit on the left seat).
Ikr? I took my nephew at tower of doom and a lot of scary rides and before they say clear to dispatch they press this red button like a frickin million times it scared the carp out of him and me
x FlameFox Yeah, I convinced my friend to go onto sidewinder with me (idk why he was scared, its sidewinder) but when the person said "all clear for dispatch" he looked at me like he was gonna try to jump out of the coaster.
I rode this ride today and I SWEARRRR it was ooo shaky I thought it was going to break!! For me, the scariest part was the tunnel because you just went in a downhill and it makes your stomach feel sooo weird. I rate it a 785787890378973298/10 tho!!!
i never been here as I live in Chicago. however I heard thay for some reason this park gets a lot of hate....not sure why though...looks like a fun place to me...heard Mt Olympus in Wisconsin Dells gets even more hate and i actually been there! in 2009. i actually enjoyed that park....
girlstorm09 Trust me this park shouldn't get as much hate as it does, I have been there many times and always have a good time..... I guess it is hated because the water park is not like Water Worlds(never been to water world so don't know) but I enjoy every bit of it
my friend and i were on this coaster and her lap bar came up and unlocked and we both started freaking out, safe to say it was our last ride of the day
I’ve only gone on it once the second time I was about to go on it someone found a screw so yes, it may be super old but it’s super fun. Definitely recommend.
There are some people who are afraid of this when they first me it but I'm telling you I was one of those people and the ride turned out to me super awesome :D So even tho you are scared just give it a try and then you'll know how it feels so you'll know if you want to go on it next time :3
Outlaw Run is a true wooden coaster, but its track is a bit different. Instead of the normal seven layers of wood topped with steel plating, the track has six layers of wood, and one layer of concrete-filled steel "Topper Track" that has the steel plating bolted onto it.
Yesterday i got on this ride and side winder they were fun but before getting on them i cried cuz i have never gone on them before and never trusted them but now i love those rides i also got on half pipe but that one wasnt scary at all it was just overall fun
Does anyone know if this would be scary for a first timer? I've ridden one roller coaster before but it was an alpine coaster (you could adjust the speed) and it wasn't that scary But ofc I am terrified of roller coasters
got stuck on this because someone was trying to get in one of those gated that say do not enter there for safety the ride has to stop and we were almost at the top but it started going so i still got my ride😀🙂☺
I've said this for many years.. Elitchs needs a huge coaster, stop wasting money on halfpipe and lame stuff like that. Twister II, my favorite coaster there, outdated.. Mind Eraser, outdated.. Boomerang, outdated.. Sidewinder.. outdated, and kinda sucks you have a huge stair set to climb before and after the ride.. Flying coaster was a POS.. the best ride there (slingshot) you have to pay to go on. Elitch gardens is doomed without a big staple ride to bring people in.
Uh yeah sure I understand what you r saying but what about the braindrain? 2014 not really outdated and they make a lot of money how many people go there a day well take that times it by the number of days they see how much when they charge 30$ 40$ yea...
I went on this ride and I got so scared i became paralyzed, haha, I couldn't speak, scream and i could barely breath, all i could move were my eyes haha that was fun.
I as an employee there say this, standard procedure and protocol is an absolute must as well each guest SAFETY. GET use to hearing " ALL CLEAR FOR DISPATCH" when riding any of the rides here at ELITCH GARDENS. If you don't like it DON'T come. Me personally it's music to my ears. JUST LIKE BRAIN DRAIN
I rode this over and over as a teenager. I love this roller coaster, it is by far my favorite ride of all time. The falls are THE best part because they're so smooth
This coaster WILL kick your ass. And seeing the entire frame before the platform flex under braking is like watching tall grass waving in the wind.
This ride is a lot better irl
Thanks CoasterForce for posting this. This was my first roller coaster :). It felt like seeing an old friend again after so long. I went to Denver in 1999 and remember riding this thing XD. My dad rode with me, and I remember gripping the lap bar so hard it had fingerprints in it when we pulled back into the station.
I grew up in Colorado and I've always loved this roller coaster even though it's sketchy AF 😂
Ikr
Not as sketchy as Lakeside Cyclone but not as fun either!
5MadMovieMakers THE LAKESIDE CYCLONE? Ugh, rode that four times and each time I felt like it would fall off faster than before.
it ain't sketchy
5MadMovieMakers you live in colorado?
I LOVED Elitches. All the rides were fun. My favorite is the Twister 2. I went with my 3rd grade class. Best field trip ever!!!!!!!!!!!
Fu Xian Hope same I have a eliches pass to go all the rides and the best
This is one of my favorite roller coasters
I went on it three times in a row in 3rd grade
This one hurt, I went here with my school band to play, and my group rode this, and it was sooo bumpy, I was holding on for my life
I went on the Twister II and it was my first roller coaster ever. Scary but really fun!
The ghost rider form Knotts Barry Farm is better then this one because the ride is long fast and more turn to
The lift is so weird, its like pull, slow, pull, slow, pull, slow.
But, this coaster is really fun and I love screaming in the tunnel.
I love it suspense yo
Shorter ride then Mr. Twister unless the video was cut. Sounds like the wheels stay on the track. That was what I always put my stomach in my throat with Mr. Twister. It would leave the track on the steep down hills. God that brings back great memories! Old Elitches was such a blast!
Man, only Coloado people know Elitch Gardens
Im colorodan , and that is true
Hello fellow Coloradan
Peanut Butter Jelly You no live in Colorado? aww you should Elitch is fun ;-;
Jane TheKiller I do and have been there a few times, I'm really scared of the rides...
Peanut Butter Jelly Same When i was Younger it scared me soo much!
What a SWEET looking coaster! Wishing I could afford a drive or flight out yonder to try Twister II and Sidewinder (formerly Roaring Tornado at Magic Springs) for myself.
Watching this gives me such good vibes I miss Colorado so much
I went to this park once, in 1990, and rode all of the coasters that were there at the time.

Mr. Twister was the roughest, loosest coaster I've ever been on. This looks to carry on that tradition.

It would be cool if they gave this the Iron Horse treatment and called it Twister III
I have been waiting SO long for someone to say that or even know what it is!
Don’t count on it since there’s the plans to eventually & hopefully relocate Elitch Gardens. (They better save Sidewinder)
That would involve Elitch’s spending money
Ah, good ol' Twister 2...or 'The Backcracker' as my friends and I called it.
Haven't been to Elitches since the summer of '01, I think it's about time I went back.
Which ride do you think is more enjoyable: this Twister re-incarnation, or the one at Knoebel's?
This was my first ever rolloer coaster ride, good times man.
I grew up riding this coaster at its original location a couple miles to the North-West. Haven't been on it at the downtown location.
This was my first roller coaster and I've heard news about the park shutting down within the next few years and imma be so sad bc this place is my child hood, so what the rides are bumpy and rough I still love them, best experience that only Coloradans would know.
Does it have much airtime?
Went on this yesterday, didn't realize how loud it was until then.
Missile is it good for a first time ride I have never been on a rollercoaster before, and want to know which one there is best!
September Queen
If you're looking for a good starter, this may be a little too intense, I would suggest either sidewinder or boomerang.
Missile but like... I don't want one that goes upside down or that goes backwards.... My brother went on the Sidewinder first and now he hates roller coasters and the boomerang is too fast for me😕😕😕😕😕
September Queen

Missile it is the fastest rollercoaster there😭😭😭😭I am to scared to many times going upside down it'll make me woozy
God I hate it when the person says, "All clear for dispatch." Because then your like, "No turning back I guess."
Ikr XD
Ikr? I took my nephew at tower of doom and a lot of scary rides and before they say clear to dispatch they press this red button like a frickin million times it scared the carp out of him and me
You are so right I was scared in line for the Half Pipe and when they said "All clear for dispatch" I was more scared than ever.
The HalfPipe is terrifying, but I would prolly ride it again :D
x FlameFox
Yeah, I convinced my friend to go onto sidewinder with me (idk why he was scared, its sidewinder) but when the person said "all clear for dispatch" he looked at me like he was gonna try to jump out of the coaster.
I rode this ride today and I SWEARRRR it was ooo shaky I thought it was going to break!! For me, the scariest part was the tunnel because you just went in a downhill and it makes your stomach feel sooo weird. I rate it a 785787890378973298/10 tho!!!
I went on it yesterday! THE DROPS ARE AWESOME!
Wow! Definitely living up to its name.
I just went on twister two days ago or one day ago but it’s not twister 2 anymore. It’s twister three Stormchaser.
i never been here as I live in Chicago. however I heard thay for some reason this park gets a lot of hate....not sure why though...looks like a fun place to me...heard Mt Olympus in Wisconsin Dells gets even more hate and i actually been there! in 2009. i actually enjoyed that park....

Rolly Coaster ????? did i say something?
its 'cause a lot of stupid teens go there and litter and thats real sad 'cause its a great park
I can see how this is like twister from knoebels, the first drop has a similar angle and the double turn arounds
i want to ride this but im freaking out about it is it scary coaster force ( as in scary i mean do u get butter flys)
Isn't the red RMC-Track also steel-made? Where's the difference between "Hybrids" like Outlawrun and Iron Rattler? :)
my friend and i were on this coaster and her lap bar came up and unlocked and we both started freaking out, safe to say it was our last ride of the day
This was my first rollercoaster
My favorite ride in the park! This video doesn't quite capture how insanely loud this ride is, though.
I’ve only gone on it once the second time I was about to go on it someone found a screw so yes, it may be super old but it’s super fun. Definitely recommend.
I'm 15 and this was my first rollercoaster. That was last week
I'm really scared of going on the tower of doom is it really bad? Please reply!
i remember getting on the ride 5 years ago i havent went to eliches since
I'd think the Mind Eraser would do that first.
What is your favorite theme park?
That has to be the shortest run-in to the station I've ever seen. And did you hear those wheels? They sounded like the Tin Man, "oil can, oil can".
this ride is the best roller coaster in Colorado
This was the scariest thing of my entire life. I regret choosing this roller coaster as my first one ever, but I guess it could be fun to some people.
its faster if u sit in the back
isaac vigil I agree and it feels like it lifts you up in the back
The ghost rider form Knotts Barry Farm is better then this one because the ride is long fast and more turn to
This is my favorite roller coaster in Eliches if I spelled that right
So I'm going to go Colorado should I go here
Yes
Yes
meat machine YES
September Queen lol that comment was posted a year ago
The ghost rider form Knotts Barry Farm is better then this one because the ride is long fast and more turn to
I've heard Elitich Gardens was a really bad theme park, what do you think CoasterForce?
There are some people who are afraid of this when they first me it but I'm telling you I was one of those people and the ride turned out to me super awesome :D So even tho you are scared just give it a try and then you'll know how it feels so you'll know if you want to go on it next time :3
Very back seat is the best because it bounces around a lot I love this ride
This was my first actual roller coaster that was fast. I only have ridden kiddy ones until this thing XD
So how is this in better condition than Mister Twister was? I thought Herschend was good.
Does anyone think the twister 2 is a good choice for first timers?
September Queen yep
This should be turned into an rmc. They should call it Twister III
Definitely
Or Twisted Twister.
The ghost rider form Knotts Barry Farm is better then this one because the ride is long fast and more turn to!
Does anyone know if this would be scary for a first timer? I've ridden one roller coaster before but it was an alpine coaster (you could adjust the speed) and it wasn't that scary
But ofc I am terrified of roller coasters
It's not bad at all
This looks like a fun ride, except for those brakes at the end.
Just rode this today! Although it's bumpy, it was still a fun ride!
QCriderBrandon is it good for a first time ride?
September Queen yep :3 it was my first roller coaster
The ghost rider form Knotts Barry Farm is better then this one because the ride is long fast and more turn to
OMG this is the elitches in denver fav ride by far!!
There's only 1 elitches 😂
Alexandra Bidwell There's only one Elitches...
That first drop nearly gave me a heart attack... it was incredibly fun though
Is there a death drop???
Nevaeh Barlow What is a "death drop"?
There's the Tower of Doom.
I have to agree, it does need a new coaster.
Ah I love elith gardens
This ride is so fun
This was the first roller coaster i've ever been on! I passed out too! Lol!!
1:59 this is the part i passed out on lol
Lol, I almost passed out when we dropped
Umm. NO. I've been to many different Theme Parks in many different cities and I still love Eliches more than any other.
I hope twister 3 is smoother than twister 2
To my understanding it’s the same layout
Well, it kinda is not that much but the good thing is the seats are are better, but sometimes at the end mostly your stomach will get pounded
i very vaguely remember riding this in 08, i haded it, but that was 6 years ago
Every Time when I get on this ride when it Is over I want to get on it again but then I realize that if I do I Will be in line for an hour
My first rollercoaster
got stuck on this because someone was trying to get in one of those gated that say do not enter there for safety the ride has to stop and we were almost at the top but it started going so i still got my ride😀🙂☺
Very cool ride.

U took the words from my mouth
Uh yeah sure I understand what you r saying but what about the braindrain? 2014 not really outdated and they make a lot of money how many people go there a day well take that times it by the number of days they see how much when they charge 30$ 40$ yea...
amcall2303 they need some sort of hyper
amcall2303
They need a real ride, like the ones they have at six flags parks.
we need a b&m
Don’t know how this god damn thing hasn’t collapsed yet
Perhaps they could hire RMC to rework Twister II to be more like the original.
This ride is amazing!
i always get mute, reallign soar throat, and partial deafness after riding .
I scream my lungs off in the tunnel!!
Lol I stop screaming in the tunnel
My first time on it was last Thursday... Glad I covered my ears in the tunnel XD
I just went again this weekend! So much fun, and short lines for this popular ride! halfpipe was closed though, :(
This was my first roller coaster. I didn't like it, much. Never been on a coaster ever since. Sad, I know
Back seat is the way to go
This is soooo much faster irl
Full coloraden here...never left the state so this is nothen new to me
I was just on this ride the other day and it was shaking so much I thought I was going to die
I live in Colorado and I rode this and tbh it's more fun than scary
Sidewinder is the best ride!
Now it's twister III
Last time i was on this ride my head was bobbling around because if how bumpy it was
I went on this ride and I got so scared i became paralyzed, haha, I couldn't speak, scream and i could barely breath, all i could move were my eyes haha that was fun.
I love this ride in real life
This ride is soo fun, my friend and I got front seats and we touched the American flag before the first drop..
Really needs to be RMCd. Would bring in a ton of new visitors to the park. It could be called Rocky Mountain Twister
I hate the words "all clear for dispatch" it's scary!!
Doctor Piggins yup
I as an employee there say this, standard procedure and protocol is an absolute must as well each guest SAFETY. GET use to hearing " ALL CLEAR FOR DISPATCH" when riding any of the rides here at ELITCH GARDENS. If you don't like it DON'T come. Me personally it's music to my ears. JUST LIKE BRAIN DRAIN
I love that ride but it's so rough on your neck and head
the seatbelts malfunctioned just before I got on...
This ride was fun but I will never go on it again. Wood rollercoasters scare me!
+Micheal Vanderpool same when i went on it i almost passed out it so scary
You know you messed up when they say “ all clear for dispatch”
ouch, listen to that this screech. sounds like its in pain, poor thing :(
Rough, of course, it's a woody, awesome looking? Fuck yeah, great layout
I went on this ride with my crush over summer and I squeezed his hand tightly the intier time...
Respect +10
