@@thatDUDEfromMAINE speed and acceleration are much different, speed meaning you can get from one place to the other in a certain amount of time, while acceleration is the act of changing speed. He may be fast, but he can't get into the next gear to get just that little bit more separation. But as a receiver you can be like that, but still beat a defender. Look at Davante Adams, one of the best route runners in the league that knows how to beat a person and coverage with his feet. When you talk about acceleration, that all comes down to physical discipline to be able to change speed and direction, something that dorsett has never had, and up until he got into nfl, never needed to beat average athletes in college. Being fast only goes so far.

Such a clean analysis of a future HOF QB. "Death by 1000 cuts" sums up Brady's career so perfectly. Extremely rarely makes mistakes, doesn't turn the ball over, take what's given to him, and this is all what has made him the "G.O.A.T." in so many people's opinion.
Edit: in the big picture Beady is a perfect QB. Even though he makes mistakes and isn't technically perfect, with a guy like him it feels like you're in cheat mode.

Gotta respect all the Pat fans who are wishing him well next year. That shows a fan base that knows football, respects and appreciates what they had for 20 years. I think The Biggest Tribute to Tom Brady that I’ve not seen to this degree is how many Patriot fans who are becoming Tampa fans now. Since I am in this category, I’ve made effort to scan comments of all of the Brady videos on youtube to see if I’m the only one. Im finding that it’s happening.
There is a school of thought that calls this “band wagon” fans. I quit using this term many, many years ago when I was a die hard Steeler fan since 1st watching them in 1973.
About mid season of Brady’s 2nd year as a starter,?I found myself watching every game they were on TV. More than any player before him I was so excited about what I was seeing. Excited because I thought he was already an objectively, elite level QB, but there was this feeling that he had the ingredients and potential to attain what he has attained. NO, I am not saying I expected it. Too many before him that have shown this early ever got there. But Brady would continue to pull me along his journey because each week he continued to progress. Not only that, he was consistently doing it. He didn’t have that year or years like others who had regressions in their growth. So I kept following him and began rooting for him because I felt he was pulling me along his quest to being the best. Through his whole career after that, I liken it to the excitement of a memorable baseball home run race, except for me this home run race lasted 16 years.

Roger Welsh yeah definitely hard to call someone a bandwagon for following him to TB. It just means you were more a fan of the player than you were the organization and aren’t people more important than businesses anyway? I’m sticking to being a New England fan since I always have been and I live here, and I’m excited about the possibility of Stidham performing well. So long as New England is in the Super Bowl race I’ll be rooting for them. But if they get eliminated and TB is still in it? I’ll definitely be rooting for my fav quarterback. I think he needs to win at least on Super Bowl while he’s there for his legacy in being able to say not all of his success is tied to him being in New England, because it clearly isn’t. (I know like the player with the more rings than any other *needs* a 7th.) But I’d love for him to get that in these last couple years before he retires and then for the Pats to be the ones with long term success as Stidham or whoever else develops as the franchise QB. Would be cool.

Chris Simon I think all football stats are useless without context. Football is such a complex game with so many moving parts that It take a true expert to understand all the data. Football stats are suppose to assist you analyze a player, their play style, their strenghts and weaknesses like it being done here, instead of using it to for vaccum comparison or proving an agenda like those sport pundits do. Stats are misleading without a proffesional mind to understand them.

Bro I enjoyed this so much. When people don't like Tom Brady I'm perplexed beyond words. The guy is everything a quarterback is suppose to be. I became a fan of his since 02 because when I watch his quarterback play vs other , it's a no brainier he makes wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy smarter decisions with the football that like 95 percent of the league. And he's beating other quarterbacks with way better talent around them than he does. Brady is constantly surrounded with trash receivers but makes them look like stars cuz of his accuracy and their game plan, and his and Bills attention to detail and break down what teams like to do on defense. I use to tell my friends I'm more impressed with how few interceptions he throws on a consultant basis than I could ever care about touchdowns. Brady is the best EVER and you haters ain't never guna see another qb like this again in your life time. Better start appreciating the legend before he's gone. Loved your analysis bro. I know we're normally film over data people around here but I read somewhere that the Pats were rated LAST in receiver separation last year. God knows how that data is compiled or assessed but it's supported by the film. Brady was forcing throws in tight spaces all year and they still made the play offs. There are still only maybe two QBs in the NFL who could have got similar results with what Brady was playing with last year.

    Great video breakdown
I would love to see you do a video on "Bradys effect on HIS defense"
Because I believe as beneficial as Bradys style of play is for avoiding sacks and getting short yardage downs.
It has an even greater effect in Helping his Own defense.
Avoiding INT's keeps your defense out of bad yardage situations.
Likewise not throwing picks keeps short yardage scores and pick six points off your defense.
Methodical short yardage plays, 3 yard pickups also take time off the clock and rest your defense.
Also avoiding sacks minimizes bad yardage situations for his defense.
A guy like Jameis Winstin who is quick bomb score and then Int or pick 6.
Keeps His defense on the field much longer and wears them down.
Would be interesting to hear your take on how Brady's play Helped benefit the Pats defense over the years.
And if you feel the Pats inconsistent offensive weapons ultimately effected the Pats defensive decline as the season progressed??

New England has tried continuously since Randy Moss to get a deep threat receiver that could stretch the field and just wasn’t able to find him. But I don’t really think it was so much a lack of talent around him but more so the injuries to the offensive line. Rookies are just that and will make mistakes. But with a decimated line, fullback and lack of blocking tight end Brady just couldn’t wait for the receivers to get open and was forced to throw the ball away quickly. Good luck to him in Tampa. May he have great success. And I’m wishing the same to Jarrett Stidham and the Patriots as well. Would love to see them both in Tampa come Super Bowl. Let’s go!!!!!!!!

His receivers let him down last year.Yes he had one or two errant throws like the pick 6 versus Miami but overall he is very, very good still.

Their receiver is one of the worst in separation and they were dropping balls too, so yeah..

Wow! Just found your channel recently and love your analyses. While most sports analysts on TV just use vague terms such as “this player has no heart” or “cannot play defense” etc. as if they only watch the highlights and look at the stats, you actually watch and take the time to analyze these games. Props to you, sir!

The intentional grounding issue is not a "loop hole". It has been in the rules for a reason. All QBs do it.

Really nice, clearly articulated breakdown. Particularly since Tom Brady is getting on in years and doesn't have some of the most eye-popping physical tools, it's interesting to see some of the aspects of his game that have allowed him to be one of the most successful QBs. I'd actually love to see your film breakdowns of some of the older, now-retired QB greats, who had really long careers, and how their approach to the game evolved.

You act like Brady invented throwing away from the pocket. Give me a break. That stuff was taught by Bill Walsh, and he wrote about how that was taught by Al Davis. That goes back to when WRs could be mugged 15 yards down the field.
I know you are a young buck and are learning your history.

Shared this on Facebook. Preciate the hard work you put in.
I was never a fan of the Pats, so, naturally, I hated watching Brady win so much. And I also believe that Brady, as good as he is, had help from refs in past playoff games: 2001 Pats vs. Raiders (infamous "Tuck Rule" game); 2017 Patriots vs. Jags (questionable PI calls on CB AJ Bouye); and 2018 Patriots vs. Chiefs (pre-snap penalty called on DL Dee Ford, called way after play was done, and at such an opportune moment)--these are the only games I can remember off the top of my head. These refs gave Brady these breaks because... well... he's Tom Brady, a virtual demi-god to most people.
Point is, even though I hold these beliefs, I never subscribed to the assertion that Brady was in steep decline. I believe this notion came from a couple places:
    1) Mainstream sports media (Max Kellerman, Shannon Sharpe, Rob Parker, etc.)
    2) Peyton Manning's steep decline. (He came off a surgery that left people thinking he wouldn't come back. It was amazing how good he did for that period of time.) I think since people grew up with these two titans, him and Brady, they think because one went down quickly, the other would go in a similar fashion. Based on his lifestyle choices and injury history, his decline probably won't be as steep.
I honestly believe he's gonna tear it up in Tampa. Coming from a Floridian, that would be pretty cool even though I'm a Jags fan (don't laugh).

When I was younger and I picked the Pats in Madden I was always frustrated thinking "they aren't as good as they are in real life", now I know I'm dumb and can't read coverages like TB12.

If there's one thing I praise him for it's that. Him and the Mannings studied so much film, Peyton could read defenses before they even set up. That's the craziest thing about that generation of qb

    • @lightyagami3492
      @lightyagami3492 4 роки тому +2

@@Villani_AV the thing is brady could inherently read defences better than Manning could. It was their rivalry that made manning better at reading defences. Compare some of the old Colts Pats highlights to when he was in Denver playing the pats. The difference is night and day in how Manning reads defences. Brady has been consistent for the vast majority of his career in that respect.
