Firstly - welcome to the wormhole that is the PTX journey. :) I'll try to answer some of your questions and give you a little background on the group... Scott (the tall, blonde guy who sings the lead for most of this song) was part of an acapella group in college, where he heard about an acapella competition on NBC called "The Sing-Off". One of the people working on the show (Ben Bram) was an alumni of the college acapella group Scott was part of and they became friends. Scott wanted to try out for the show, so he contacted his two highshool friends Kirstin (the only woman in PTX) and Mitch (the guy with the long hair and high voice, who sang the solo towards the end). The three of them had been a trio in highschool and performed together quite a bit. But the show wanted the groups competing to be five members or more - so they needed two more members. Ben Bram introduced Scott to Avi (the groups orignal bass singer) and they found Kevin (the beatboxer) through youtube. Scott offered to pay for Kevins plane ticket to LA for the audition to convince him to join them. As he's said ever since - it was the best investment he's ever made! :) Anyway - they auditioned for the show and long story short - ended up winning season 3! (this was in 2011) They won a record contract, but the label dropped them about a week later. A blessing in disguise as it was a terrible contract to begin with. So they started making youtube videos to keep their audience after the show and they ended up a few years later (after a number of EPs etc) with a much better contract with their current label: RCA records. Avi left the group in 2017 on good terms and was later replaced by their current bass singer: Matt (who is in this video). PTX has sold millions of albums, toured the world playing to sold out arenas, been #1 on the charts, won 3 Grammys and they are still going strong. They do a lot of covers, but also original music (like this song). And no, there are no instruments - unless you see them in the video. Kevin is playing his cello in a handfull of videos, and they are joined by Lindsey Stirling on violin in two videos. Recommendations: Covers: Mad World, Sound of Silence, Imagine, Bohemian Rhapsody, Can You Feel the Love Tonight, Can't Hold Us, Problem, Havanna, Jolene, When the Partys Over Originals: Sing, Can't Sleep Love, Love Again, Run to You Christmas: Mary Did You Know, Making Christmas, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy Medleys: Daft Punk, Any of their "Evolution of..." videos Live: Hallujah, Aha (singapore star vista), Popspring performance
A little bit more details on the record contract the won...it was with the Sony-owned Epic Records. It was a major label, but the label would have had full control over their creative output. They were dropped because the marketing execs at Epic couldn't figure out a way to market an a cappella group and decided to pull out of the deal before the group had a chance to record anything. This caused legal problems for both Sony AND The Sing Off, who had promised the record deal and had to delay their fourth season for a full year until all the legal issues could be solved. In the meantime, Pentatonix quickly gathered a huge following on UA-cam...so much so that eight months after dropping them, Sony relented and signed them to a lesser deal with their small Madison Gate label. Over the next year and a half, Madison Gate released three Pentatonix EPs: PTX Vol 1, PTXmas and PTX Vol 2. Vol 2 would include Daft Punk, which was the first Pentatonix single to make worldwide charts and for the video to go super-viral, leading to their first Grammy Award. Immediately afterward, Sony rewarded the group by bumping them up to the major RCA label and a much more lucrative contract.
It's the first time I've ever seen a reactor have one of their original songs be their first ever Pentatonix reaction. And yes, they are an A Capella group. Their beatboxer Kevin is an amazing cello player, and he can beatbox while playing the cello, so some of their songs do feature Kevin doing this. They've also collaborated with other artists, but if there is an instrument being used, it will be clearly visible in the video. Because they are an a capella group, most of what they do are covers, I guess it's because people like to compare song with or without instruments. But they have some amazing original songs as well!!! Loved the reaction, can't wait to see more. They are truly incredible and in my opinion, are the best at what they do!!!
So just a fair word of advice: If you want your channel to grow fast in the near future just keep doing pentatonix reactions. For some reason we Pentatonix fans just can't seem to get enough of people discovering their music and being blown away by it every single time
This is an original song. They mostly do covers and are famous for making covers that are better than the originals. All of their Grammy Awards involve covers.
The only instruments are their voices! Try Hallelujah, Daft Punk Medley, Bohemian Rhapsody, The sound of Silence, New Rules X Are You That Somebody?, Blinding Lights, or anything they have done. There is a nice introduction video - The Beginner's Guide to Pentatonix. Enjoy! Cant wait to see more from you.
Hello, Welcome to PTX. Scott (tall blonde) is a baritone. He sings bass when Avi (who left in 2017) and now Matt sing bass. His range is 4 octaves. He arranges a lot and founded the group. Mitch (counter tenor) his looks change all the time. He has an amazing naturally high voice. Kirstie (rhymes with thirsty) is a Mezzo Soprano. Her looks change a lot. Kevin (beat box and tenor) also is an internationally recognized musician on both the sax and cello. He has played Carnagie Hall twice. Matt (bass) joined in 2017. He is a prestigious bass. Avi (left in 2017) majored in opera. He is a basso profundo. His low range blows speakers a lot. They have 3 Grammys. 1. Daft Punk 2 Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy 3. Jolene The trio went to HS together. Have been friends since they were kids. Scott was at USC in an a cappella group and heard about The Sing Off. An all a capella contest on NBC. The minimum was 5. Scott found Avi through a friend and Kevin on UA-cam. He cello boxes. Kevin just graduated Yale when they got together for the show. Spoiler. They won. Won a contact and then got dumped by label. They started making YT videos and got a huge following. Now, their cover of Hallelujah had more than half a BILLION views. Welcome to the best journey ever!!!!
Great first time reaction to Pentatonix. What you see is what you get with them. Kevin (the beat boxer) plays the cello in a few songs. They don't hide it, you'll see him play the cello and beat box at the same time. Recommendations: Daft Punk Medley, Hallelujah, and Bohemian Rhapsody.
If you ever have a chance to see them live it's so worth it! They are acapella, all vocal, unless they have an instrument showing in the video. Lindsey Stirling joins them in 2 videos with the violin while Kevin plays cello and beat boxes. They are all amazing vocalists and the harmonies will blow you away and give you chills if your a music lover. Covers and originals are all worth seeing. They even do a version of Joleen with Dolly Parton.
Subscribed for more Pentatonix! I don’t know what to suggest because everything is incredible so I’ll go with any of their Evolutions (of Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ariana Grande) because they are amazing and all filmed in one take where they are on screen the entire time, so it gives you an opportunity to watch them all through every step. And the transitions into each song are so seamless. Enjoy the journey, they will continue to blow you away with each video!
Just to add to all the facts given to you already, Scott Hoying ( blonde guy) Kirstie Maldonado and Mitch Grassi (guy with long hair, high voice) are childhood friends from Texas. They grew up doing musical theater and choir. When they got to high school they were still in choir but were known as "The Trio". (There ate Trio videos here on UA-cam) After graduating Scott moved to So.California to attend UCLA and became part of the Famous So. Cal Vocals choir. At the time there was a televised singing competition The Sing Off Scott was told he should audition. Scott contacted Kirstie and Mitch to join him. He was suggested to get a beatboxer and bass to make The Trio sou d fuller. Scott was introduced to Avi (Ah-vee)(from California) a opera/music major who was an AMAZING bass. Scott was also told about Kevin (from Kentucky) a cello-boxing beatboxer who had a vital UA-cam video. At the time Kevin was attending YALE and had just graduated Pre-Med (he was going to be a doctor - his whole family is in the medical field) when Scott invited him to audition for the show. Scott helped fund a ticket to fky Kevin to LA. the 5 members OFFICIALLY met as a group a day before the audition. They claim that when they started to sing together a 5 piece group it was magic they clicked!. Pentatonic means 5 scale vocal. Scott thought of the name and added to the x for a cooler effect.
Kevin O, the beat boxer, is also a cellist. On their covers of "Say Anything" and "Shallow," he does play the cello. They join Lindsey Sterling, a violinist, for a cover of "Radioactive" and a French song I don't know. On those songs Kevin O. does play the cello in harmony with Lindsey Sterling's violin.
Yes all acapella unless you see the cello! Yes they have a bass, his name is Matt. Yes they have percussion, his name is Kevin. Yes, they have insane harmonies! We all love Mitch & his voice & his hair & his outfits which change all the time! New original album dropping 2-12-2021. This is one track from it, as is Be My Eyes which features Kirstin as lead. Welcome! You’re on your way to being a Pentaholic!
Before you react to anything else take a listen to when they competed on The Sing Off and won The whole show is A cappella so they are only using their voices
All their music is produced by them (their mouths and bez boxing). Amazing isn't it? Thay have a huge number of great covers, but IMHO they show their raw talents more clearly in "No" (Meghan Trainor cover) and "Gold" (Kiiara cover), as they are "less studio supported". Anyway, if you keep reacting to them you'll quickly realize how great they are (Daft Punk Medley, Sound of Silence, Imagine, Can you feel the love tonight, Love Again, Come Along...). See you in the next one
I loved your reaction. The Beatboxer plays the Cello and beatboxes at the same time on a few songs. They use the Piano on a couple songs, but that is all. You have so much to learn about them. If you like this then you can not go wrong with anything from them. They do covers and originals. Their covers are almost always better than the originals. They do a ton of Christmas music. A few of my favorites are Aha, Singapore live at Star Vista, No, Sounds of Silence, The Prayer Carol of the Bells ( Christmas Under the Stars TV special, 2021) Mary Did You Know, Bohemian Rhapsody,, The list goes on forever!!!! Enjoy the journey!
Only 5 members. SCOTT - (lead in this song) is a baritone (and can cover bass when their bass singer sings); MITCH is a Contra Tenor; KIRSTIN is a Mesos Soprano; KEVIN is the beatboxer/play cello/and sings; MATT is the new bass and has a strong voice as well. SUGGESTED: WHEN THE PARTY'S OVER MAD WORLD HALLELUJAH DAFT PUNK MEDLEY (Grammy winner) LITTLE DRUMMER BOY MARY DID YOU KNOW CAROL OF THE BELLS SAY SOMETHING SHALLOW CAN'T SLEEP LOVE (Original) RUN TO YOU (Original) DREAMS EVOLUTION OF MICHAEL JACKSON EVOLUTION OF BEYONCE BOHEMIAN RHAPOSDY CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT THE SOUND OF SILENCE SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW JOLENE (with Dolly Parton - Grammy winner) CAN'T HELP FALLIN IN LOVE IMAGINE (John Lennon cover) GOLD That should keep you busy for a little while. Enjoy. There are plenty more. Peace man.
The group Blond Scott Hoying Girl Kirstie Maldonado High voice is Mitch Grassi Beatboxer is Kevin Olusola Bass is Matt Salee 2011-2017 Bass was Avi Kaplan. He left to go solo in 2017.
Oh it was so much fun to see you get impressed and excited. Yep! No instruments just 5 amazingly talented singers and performers. Been a fan since 2011 and I am still blown away. Enjoy the ride. 🤗
Great first reaction. No instruments. And for the few songs where there is an instrument, you'll see it in the video, as the beatboxer (Kevin) also plays the cello....WHILE beatboxing. Ha! Enjoy the ride that is on its way!
Hallelujah, Daft Punk, Sound of Silence. BTW, since you'll probably ask this question at some point...there's only been one change in the group. The original bass, Avi (who you'll see in Hallelujah and Daft Punk), amicably left the group and was replaced by Matt (he's in Happy Now and Sound of Silence). I can count on the rest of the Pentaholics to give you more recommendations.
Great reaction 👍 this is their newest original release (another one is being released on 10/14 ahead of what we think is the release of a whole originals EP on 10/16). They are mostly known for covers and have been around for close to a decade so there are plenty of songs to dive into, plus most members have had their own "side projects" that also need to be checked out 😁
love it when someone discovers them for the first time, exp when they are not aware that they are A capella. If they do use Instruments you see them right a way (Kevin's Cello and guest Lindsay Stirling) react to Daft Punk, no auto tune, no instruments but they won a Grammy
Nice reaction. You might want to check out their version on Hallelujah and Bohemian Rhapsody and many more amazing stuffs. I assure you, they will blow your mind. Cool. Keep 'em coming!
First...really enjoyed your reaction. Now welcome to the rabbit hole of their experience (they have over 400 videos over the past 9 years). After you do another reaction, you will become one of the many MILLIONS of PENTAHOLICs. Enjoy the journey !!
While they all have had solo projects (Kirstie and KOKevin), Mitch and Scott (Mullet and tall blond) have been friends since they were 9,along with Kirstie in high school) and have a double EP and youtube channel called Superfruit. Amazing stuff from every member. They are RIDICULOUS! Enjoy the rabbit hole!!!
To me this song is a result of a time that you lose someone, and in the beginning you become a ghost of your self (Mitch in the white Shear) but you finally move on, and as you are starting to ask, is it ok to be happy now, and then you finally break through and you allow yourself to be Happy Now, me, myself and I. This is a strong and loving song! I have lost 2 loves through my life and each time I have held on to missing them, and I did not realize I was still holding onto the hurt until this song, and it allowed me to let it go, and start back on my road to being Happy Now
I am so happy you chose this song to react to first! Their original stuff deserves a lot more attention than it gets and this song is just amazing. It's the first single to their upcoming original album and we're actually getting the second single in a few days. They generally don't use intruments. On the rare occasion they choose to add an instrument to their song, you're gonna see it in the video. Plus, it's usually a cello, because the beatboxer (Kevin) plays it. A really good example of a song like that is their cover of Shallow, where you can also hear Kirstin (the lady) sing, since she didn't have a solo here. And you can hear the bass guy (Matt) sing in their cover of The Sound of Silence, which is truly amazing too. The two guys you heard singing here were Scott (blond guy) and Mitch (high voice, Harley Quinn make-up queen). Scott is the group's baritone and is pretty versatille with his vocals in terms of style, so he gets a lot of leads. Mitch is a countertenor (a pretty rare type of high male voice) and is considered to be the objectively best singer of the group. He's also pretty much universally loved by everyone who ever hears him, because his voice just really stands out, but (as you pointed out), he's still able to blend in when it's needed. I'm subscribing. Thank you so much for this reaction and I hope I'll see more PTX on your channel. Since it's October though a very good song to react to in this season is their cover of Making Christmas from the Nightmare Before Christmas. It's kinda more of a Halloween movie to me and the song has spooky vibes, so I feel like it's great for October. And the arrangement they did for that is sick.
Such a joy to watch your face as you listen for the first time and move into the magic that is PTX. Great reaction, thank you and more please. You're gonna love this rabbit hole you've jumped into :)
They only have 5 people in the group, in the past there was another bass (Avi), but Matt has been with them for 2 years now. This song is one of their originals songs, they did an album with mostly originals in 2015 and have been hinting about another one for a while now. If you want to see other originals, I would recommend Can't Sleep Love, Sing and Rose Gold (there's no video for the last one, but you can find lyrics video for it quite easily).
Yours is my favorite reaction to this PTX song. Your honest delight in being blown away -- it makes my day every time I watch it, and I've watched it a few dozen times. Just awesome.
First time PTX reactions are my favorite. Honestly you can't go wrong with PTX, main videos are usually Hallelujah, Mad world, Sound of silence. Daft punk, Dance of the sugar plum fairy & collab with Jolene (Dolly Parton) are Grammy winners if I remember correctly My only real request is to highlight Christmas albums as it gets closer to that time!! So many wonderful songs to cover
Thank you for reacting to this PTX original. I enjoyed it. Bass = Matt. Claps, beatboxing = Kevin. This song is all a capella. There are only five members. Penta means five. In some songs Kevin plays cello. You would see it in the video. If you don't see the cello, they are not using a musical instrument. Only one member change. Matt for Avi.
No instruments except Kevin (beatboxer) playing cello in about 2 or 3 songs. Bass in this is Matt. Lead singer in this song is Scott. The woman is Kirsten and her voice is powerful. Mitch is under the cloth, he has the voice of an angel. Try Bohemian Rhapsody, Hallelujah, Imagine, Gold, Say Something, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies, Mary Did You Know, Come Again, and more. Beatboxer, Kevin try his version of Down for something truly amazing.
It's always a joy to see a new Pentaholic! Come with us down the rabbit hole. Try "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from The Lion King. Or "The Greatest Showman" theme to get really blown away! Enjoyed your reaction and bye the way, I'm a 72 year old Viet Nam Vet who has followed them from The 3rd season of the TV show, The Sing Off. Their original bass was a guy named AVI Kaplan who left the group after six years, they then discovered their new bass, Matt Sallee who has been with them ever since. Be cool and catch you on the flip side.
Dude! You are about to travel down a very deep rabbit hole! Next up? Try Kiss From a ROSE. It is one of the few songs where Kevin, the beat boxer plays a cello and beat boxes at the same time. The vast majority of their covers and original songs have no instruments and yes, they sound just as good live as they do in their videos. The guy whose voice you mentioned as amazing is Mitch. He will blow your mind! Now you’d better get started!❤
No instruments, unless they have one right out in front to be seen. A couple of times Kevin (the percussion guy) plays a cello perfectly, but normally the most you're getting is a stamp pad that he uses to accentuate the sound of stomping his foot. The bass drums, or guitar or deep sounds is Matt, the guy usually standing on the far left, done strictly with his voice. This is not your grandmother's acapella. In my opinion "Hallelujah" is their Prime Best, but they have hundreds of songs to choose from that are all excellent.
Awesome reaction! There are tons of loyal PTX fans who follow Good reactors. They have awesome covers of Sound of Silence and Hallelujah- the original video or from the Christmas program. This was an original song but they are known for Christmas and covers of pop. They are all a capella. No instruments usually. Subscribed!
No Instruments used in this one! Nice reaction! If you're going to go on the PTX ride, I better let you know now that one of the members, Avi (the person with the dark mustache and beard and provides the bass for the group in earlier videos) is no longer with them and left amicably and was replaced by Matt Sallee. Everyone else is still the same. Sometimes the looks of Kirstin (the female of the group) and Mitch(the one who can hit the real high notes) has changed, but it's still them. Scott, the one who started this song first, Kirstin, and Mitch are high school friends and they enlisted Avi and Kevin (the beatboxer and vocal percussionist) to round out their group when they competed on the a cappella competition show called the Sing Off on NBC in 2011. They won the competition and were hailed as the future of a cappella due to their unique takes of popular songs. They currently own 3 Grammy awards and are considered one of the best in the world. Some people still can't believe that they use only their voices and no instruments when they perform. I would recommend for you to listen to The Sound of Silence which has Matt, the new bass and also has a great singing voice as well! ua-cam.com/video/gdVjVtpr55M/v-deo.html Enjoy!
Great reaction! Just wanted to suggest Aha! Live at the Star Vista Singapore. It's a fan video who obviously loves Mitch (as do I!) but pretty good sound quality. (Kevin (beat boxer) does join the rest on stage later, but he's off camera on that one) BTW, Mitch changes his look A LOT, as does Kirstie sometimes, but the only change to the group was Matt (shown in this video) replacing Avi as the bass. I also recommend Mary, Did You Know (Kevin sings beautifully in this one), Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, Bohemian Rhapsody... Radioactive is great and incorporates Kevin's cello and features Lindsey Sterling's incredible violin. Oh, and if you want to hear them rap, their covers of Can't Hold Us and Problem are fantastic.
Subscribed and hope you continue your journey with this amazing group. I see you've reacted to Billie Ellish - you may like the Pentatonix cover of her song When the Parties Over, or the Weeknd Cover of Blinding Lights. So many great songs - Imagine (John Lennon), Hallelujah (Leonard Cohen), Sound of Silence (Simon and Garfunkle) - most of the time they are pure A Capella, but some songs have Cello (Kevin the Beatboxer plays) Violin (collaberations with Lindsay Stirling) and more recently piano in two of their songs (Scott the baritone plays). If there is an instrument you will see it - they don't hide it. Any song they do is incredible!
Oh boy... you have no idea what you just stepped in. You will see what I mean. I HIGHLY suggest their covers of; Daft Punk, Hallelujah, SOUND OF SILENCE, Can you feel the love tonight, When the party’s over, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.
I USED TO WATCH YOUR ONE DIRECTION REACTIONS AND IM SO GLAD YOU'VE STARTED REACTING TO PENTATONIX AS WELL! YOU'RE IN FOR A RIDE! PLEASE REACT TO BE MY EYES BY THEM! ITS ANOTHER ORIGINAL SONG BY THEM THEY RELEASED JUST NOW! IT'S A GREAT DEAL FOR US LONG TIME STANS! THEY'VE COME SO FAR! THANKS FOR THIS...AND SORRY FIR THE CAPS LOL
Sorry to be late to the party! You’ve already been given lots of good info and recommendations. I would like to suggest that you choose Hallelujah as your next PTX song. It’s by far their most popular with over half a BILLION views. Choose the version where they are outdoors for stunning visuals. I’m recommending this one because you can clearly identify each singers voice while they are singing the lead, thus getting to ‘know’ them more quickly. Welcome to the wonderful world of PTX!
Ooooo Young Padawan your PTX journey will be amazing. they have a few song with instruments but not many. Kevin (the beatbox) plays the cello. also you will see AVI in their older videos. Avi left the group in 2017 replaced by MATT (the other black guy) ENJOY PTX!!!!!!
New comment on an older reaction! (I still keep coming back to watch this one; it’s a real favorite.) I’m so curious to see what you’d think of their new original Coffee in Bed. Total fire and a lot of the elements you appreciated here, but with its own uniqueness.
I subscribed to you. Liked your review. note sure what the other comments are, but once in awhile, the beat boxer (Kevin) will play his cello (he does Cello Boxing) to see that watch Radioactive featuring Lindsey Stirling, she plays her violin too, It will blow you away!
Can you react to pentatonix love again. Daft punk..the feeling can't hold us. The sound of silence. Bohemian rhapsody. Imagine. Radio active. Cheerleader. Sing. Can you feel the love tonight. Havana.
More Pentatonix please
You've got to hear/see 1.) Hallelujah 2.) Bohemian Rhapsody, 3.) The Sound Of Silence...and then all the rest, too. We Pentaholics welcome you!!!!

@Ofra Cohen I believe they have new ones coming out very soon. Can't wait!

There are no instruments, just the bass, the beatboxer and all the amazing harmonies

And the transitions into each song are so seamless. Enjoy the journey, they will continue to blow you away with each video!
Pentatonix is a game changer in the world of acapella ~~ Absolutely amazing!
It all them! They do ALL the sounds. They're bass and rhythm is sick.
I love when people find pentatonix. Your mind is going to be blown 🤯
Welcome to the world of Pentatonix, WARNING Soon you will be a Pentaholic. Look forward to your reactions from them soon.
(There ate Trio videos here on UA-cam)
After graduating Scott moved to So.California to attend UCLA and became part of the Famous So.
Before you react to anything else take a listen to when they competed on The Sing Off and won
The whole show is A cappella so they are only using their voices
Say something really shows off Kevin’s cello. The base in this is Matt. They had another bases Avi in there earlier songs.
Your amazing journey is just starting if you are on the PTX train.....
SUGGESTED:
WHEN THE PARTY'S OVER
MAD WORLD
HALLELUJAH
DAFT PUNK MEDLEY (Grammy winner)
LITTLE DRUMMER BOY
MARY DID YOU KNOW
CAROL OF THE BELLS
SAY SOMETHING
SHALLOW
CAN'T SLEEP LOVE (Original)
RUN TO YOU (Original)
DREAMS
EVOLUTION OF MICHAEL JACKSON
EVOLUTION OF BEYONCE
BOHEMIAN RHAPOSDY
CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT
THE SOUND OF SILENCE
SOMEBODY THAT I USED TO KNOW
JOLENE (with Dolly Parton - Grammy winner)
CAN'T HELP FALLIN IN LOVE
IMAGINE (John Lennon cover)
GOLD
That should keep you busy for a little while. Enjoy. There are plenty more. Peace man.
Welcome to the Pentaholics! They. Are. Amazing!
If you want to be blown away again check out their cover of Bohemian Rapsody
The group
Blond Scott Hoying
Girl Kirstie Maldonado
High voice is Mitch Grassi
Beatboxer is Kevin Olusola
Bass is Matt Salee
2011-2017 Bass was Avi Kaplan. He left to go solo in 2017.
PTX covers a wide variety of genres. Welcome to a new adventure of discovery.
Oh it was so much fun to see you get impressed and excited. Yep! No instruments just 5 amazingly talented singers and performers. Been a fan since 2011 and I am still blown away. Enjoy the ride. 🤗
Thank you! I'm really looking forward for more Pentatonix videos on your channel. They are incredibly talented!
Dope! Thanks 🤟🤟
Great reaction 👍 this is their newest original release (another one is being released on 10/14 ahead of what we think is the release of a whole originals EP on 10/16). They are mostly known for covers and have been around for close to a decade so there are plenty of songs to dive into, plus most members have had their own "side projects" that also need to be checked out 😁
Thank you 😊
love it when someone discovers them for the first time, exp when they are not aware that they are A capella.
I think we have a new Pentaholic here. Wait till you hear them perform Daft Punk Medley!
Yours is my favorite reaction to this PTX song. Your honest delight in being blown away -- it makes my day every time I watch it, and I've watched it a few dozen times. Just awesome.
🥰🥰🤘🤘
Please more pentatonix 💙😍
Nice another Pentatonix reactor. They are an amazing group.
First time PTX reactions are my favorite. Honestly you can't go wrong with PTX, main videos are usually Hallelujah, Mad world, Sound of silence.
Daft punk, Dance of the sugar plum fairy & collab with Jolene (Dolly Parton) are Grammy winners if I remember correctly
My only real request is to highlight Christmas albums as it gets closer to that time!! So many wonderful songs to cover
Start with their three Grammy wins.
More Pentatonix Please...................
Daft Punk, Can't Hold Us, Attention, Gold, Love Again
No instruments, unless they have one right out in front to be seen. A couple of times Kevin (the percussion guy) plays a cello perfectly, but normally the most you're getting is a stamp pad that he uses to accentuate the sound of stomping his foot. The bass drums, or guitar or deep sounds is Matt, the guy usually standing on the far left, done strictly with his voice. This is not your grandmother's acapella. In my opinion "Hallelujah" is their Prime Best, but they have hundreds of songs to choose from that are all excellent.
Amazing first time reaction. Welcome to PTX fam!!!
Subscribed!
Appreciate it 😁
I'm so looking forward to going on that journey with you!
🤟🤟
Loved your reaction! Please react to more Pentatonix.

I would recommend for you to listen to The Sound of Silence which has Matt, the new bass and also has a great singing voice as well! ua-cam.com/video/gdVjVtpr55M/v-deo.html
Enjoy!
Great reaction! Just wanted to suggest Aha! Live at the Star Vista Singapore. It's a fan video who obviously loves Mitch (as do I!) but pretty good sound quality. (Kevin (beat boxer) does join the rest on stage later, but he's off camera on that one)
BTW, Mitch changes his look A LOT, as does Kirstie sometimes, but the only change to the group was Matt (shown in this video) replacing Avi as the bass.
I'm a new subscriber and a Pentaholic. Thank you!
Definitely will and no worries! 😁
@@beautifulending7467 thank you!
I did it got blocked! Its on my igtv if you wanna check it out. Info is in any videos description
Subscribed for more Pentatonix reactions! Just pick a video....there are so many. And NONE of them are less than amazing!
Ooooo Young Padawan your PTX journey will be amazing. they have a few song with instruments but not many. Kevin (the beatbox) plays the cello. also you will see AVI in their older videos. Avi left the group in 2017 replaced by MATT (the other black guy)
ENJOY PTX!!!!!!
Hallelujah got blocked, its on my ig if u wanna see it 🤟
Yay thanks!!! 😊😊😊 nice reaction
🤟🤟
If this has you blown away then you should buckle up. You’re in for a ride. Lol
New comment on an older reaction! (I still keep coming back to watch this one; it’s a real favorite.) I’m so curious to see what you’d think of their new original Coffee in Bed. Total fire and a lot of the elements you appreciated here, but with its own uniqueness.
Forgot to ask before: do you have a Patreon?
I do not have one. I am likely going to start one later this year. I will post it if I do, thank you 😊🤘
I subscribed to you. Liked your review. note sure what the other comments are, but once in awhile, the beat boxer (Kevin) will play his cello (he does Cello Boxing) to see that watch Radioactive featuring Lindsey Stirling, she plays her violin too, It will blow you away!
Try Bohemian Rhapsody by them. Be prepared to be knocked on your backside !!!
Can you react to pentatonix love again. Daft punk..the feeling can't hold us. The sound of silence. Bohemian rhapsody. Imagine. Radio active. Cheerleader. Sing. Can you feel the love tonight. Havana.
If you do react to more PTX, be assured that your listeners will cover the gambit from young to old like me, a great grandmother.
You should do a reaction to their Daft Punk medley.
Subbed for more PTX reactions! No need for me to give any information or recommendations - I see my fellow Pentaholics have that covered.
Please watch beginners guide to Pentatonix on you tube and you will learn all about the group
You might want to react to Pentatonix's cover Billie Eilish's " When the Party's Over."
