I love Drew Carey on The Price Is Right, and I love seeing people win lots of money and prizes. If it can't be me up there, I want to see whoever makes it on stage win a lot!! It's such a good feeling!
spider man who’s line and the drew carey show were on ABC. This interview was on CBS. All these shows - morning and late night - are obliged to do interviews with the stars of their own network’s show. As entertaining as this interview was (and unnecessary, given TPIR’s popularity), it was really just a five minute long commercial. Still, I love Drew Carey and virtually everything he’s ever done.
I've always liked Drew Carey....when he took over on TPIR, a lot of people complained....but I think he does a great job.....I liked Bob Barker, of course, but Drew seems a little more personable, and once he got comfortable with the job, I think he really fits in.
Great interview. It goes to show Mr. Carey is a decent and down to earth person who, like everyone else, needs to be motivated to do his job right. He ain't perfect but he gets it and does what he has to do to make it work. He made TPIR into his own show and for that I respect him.
I've always thought Drew was sexy BUT not because of any one thing about him, it was because of his total package!! He's funny, caring, compassionate and lovable.
Took me 5 years to get over the change to Drew. Now I think hes pretty great♡ Bob was just routine and we were use to seeing him. Reality is Bob was very pushy with the contestants.
Watched Bob Barker starting in the early '70's on "Truth or Consequences", he always reminded me of a guitar string tightened up & ready to snap. Drew is a much better host. Drew has the same delivery as Bob Hope, but funnier. Barker had no delivery for a career in show business , just a display of stressed out showmanship.
Romans 10:9 I noticed this too especially ad I got older. It just seemed like Bob Barker was just mad all the time and it felt like he didn't really want to be there.
I love Drew so much!!! I was in the audience of The Price Is Right last week. I loved seeing Drew but I really wish I could have hugged and kissed him. He is my favorite!
Drew Carey’s the man. Great guy and his sitcom will stand the test of time as the most underrated and greatest sitcom of all time. Better than Seinfeld and Friends (said it, not sorry).
When Drew first took over, no one really liked him because he seemed surprisingly, bored. Almost as if he was just running through a script of nothingness. Watch any of the first year or so when he took over, and you will see a massive difference in his attitude and action. Now, he's really good. Guess it took him a while to get comfortable. I almost thought CBS was going to get rid of him after that first season he took over. Someone must have really told him, look...this needs improvement.
He seems to genuinely enjoy it now. I think when Bob left it was so hard to accept someone else, so that didn't help how he was perceived but he's definitely better than he was.
I don't think he was bored as much as he was uncomfortable or unable to accept the fact that he was there to fgill tyhe big shoes that Bob had left. He was probably thinking "I'm gonna blow this! I'm gonna blow this so bad!"
That sounds about right. He had big shoes to fill and he knew it, so he put a lot of pressure on himself in his first few years. Now he's just being himself, and it's working, he's done so well.
Agreed with the first one there, of course his first year run, I wasn’t feeling it much, I could understand, these were huuuuuuuuuuuge shoes to fill, and I mean huuuuuuuuuuuuuuge! How can you do that after the GOAT, another moment some said he didn’t do too well with was that exact bid on the showcase, another point I could get where he was going, probably thought that’s his last show or something, but of course, that was just pure luck combined with skill, another story, but over the years he’s went above and beyond expectation to keep this show going, and that’s the only show, truth be told, I’ll watch in daytime. I’ve said it before, I am a loyal friend and true.
He had a rough transition into TPIR, but he has really come into his own and is a great host. He had big shoes to fill, naturally. But I felt he was kind of deadpan, almost like he didn't want to be there. His love of it now is undeniable and his personality truly shines through.
Drew seems like a very down to earth person I like him better than Bob even though I basically grew up with Bob but Bob seems a bit stiff drew has a better additude with people he is more a people type person hope he stays with the Price is Right for many years to come
everybody has some good or bad qualities, but bob made the show and he was classy. drew will never be as good. in fact he's a comedian and is not a good fit for this show at all
His appearance transformed so rapidly and from "out of the blue" (i.e.: wasn't done for an acting role he was engaged in, no life event or newly discovered passion that would motivate him to become a health/fitness enthusiast, etc), that I was really fearful that it would come out at some point that he was battling a serious illness/disease. AIDS was kinda far down the list, though. For whatever reason (not sure why), failing kidneys or liver, diabetes or hepatitis seemed more likely to me to be what was the cause, if indeed failing health was the reason. Turns out a little change in eating habits and effort to not eat the "poisonous food" the food industry mostly sells, be it heavily processed foods, foods that have high levels of sugar/artificial sweeteners added or are a melange of chemicals mixed together in lieu of using the actual food they are representing that chemical cocktail to be, helps the body to shed those poisons and help the body to do what it's supposed to do to properly regulate body function and get to a body weight that is appropriate. That's primarily what the real agent for change was that powered his transformation. Odd how the industry that's supposed to be nourishing the people who buy their products are doing more harm to them than "Nourishing". Whatever it takes to get those "dollah, dollah bills, y'all"...
No one can replace Bob Barker, but given what I've heard about the show's behind the scenes, I'm willing to bet that the ladies were thrilled to see him go.
The 1950's version doesn't bare a lot of resemblance to today's version. I saw some of the early episodes repeated on GSN many years ago, so I forget what was different, but there was a huge difference.
Rob Ricci TPIR 50 (Cullen) was basically a half hour long non stop contestants row. It was more like an auction than what it became when Mark Goodson rebooted it into what it is now.
when Barker started TPIR they called it "The New Price is Right" so when you hear it mentioned now-a-days, its likely the New Price is Right is the one theyre talking about
I want to give a shout out to Drew Carey he's my favorite actor and he's my favorite hoes from The Price is Right I'm watching them right now he got on a green outfit which is my favorite color what's up Drew Carey 💚💚💚💚💚🌍
From the side shot he looks just like the Drew Carey I remember from 20 years ago, but that front shot.. I can't decide if he looks health, old or both.
I think Drew is better than bob well that's because I was born in 1999 and I was like 3 or 4 when I first saw the price is right and drew took over in I think it was 2007 so that's why I think drew is better
I love Drew Carey , he just seems like a genuine, awesome guy :)
Drew Carey is a great person.
Yeah. I heard he routinely tips people $100. He looks good at his age. Stylish and more handsome than when he was younger.
If only the rest of Hollywood would act like Drew Carey.
He seems so calm, humble, and at peace with himself. God Bless You. ❤
a marine too semper fi.
@@josephhickman4528 Oh, I didn't know that!
I love Drew Carey on The Price Is Right, and I love seeing people win lots of money and prizes. If it can't be me up there, I want to see whoever makes it on stage win a lot!! It's such a good feeling!
Why don't they Mention Who's Line Is It Anyway? He was a great host that took over the British Series. (When it came to the States)
+spider man I think they didn't mention it because the series ended 7 years prior to the interview.

@@worshipgeek even Geppetto?
@@TheSaxAppeal Geppetto on DVD?!
@@worshipgeek not exactly true,
I wish that a network would rerun his old television show.

He really has come into his own. He seems so much happier than most celebs.
I miss _The Drew Carey Show_
I think TPIR chose the right person for this show. Carey is such a great guy.
His first appearance on the Johnny Carson show back in 1991 has to be one of the best short stand-up comedy skits I've ever seen.
Great interview. It goes to show Mr. Carey is a decent and down to earth person who, like everyone else, needs to be motivated to do his job right. He ain't perfect but he gets it and does what he has to do to make it work. He made TPIR into his own show and for that I respect him.
9 years later (2023) and he's still doing a great job and people still love him and he still seems to really enjoy doing it.
I've always thought Drew was sexy BUT not because of any one thing about him, it was because of his total package!! He's funny, caring, compassionate and lovable.
I love Drew on The Price is Right.
I wish drew would be the host on whose line is it anyway again. those were the days!!!
@epicurus wasright That sure would be nice. I miss his laugh on that show.
@@misanthrobot He became my favorite Whose Line host.

I was on TPIR!! in 1997, I won both showcases and won 2 cars and a boat and a pool table and a nice necklace!!!
I want this job. Retail for 26 years. I absolutely love to make people happy. Bob Barker was my guide. You are the Jon Snow of this show.
What a sweet guy. Thank you for your service too Drew. We love you!!!
At 99 Bob almost made it to 100 without going over the actual retail price!

I actually made Dre Carely laugh once. Made my day.
Turns out he was actually really good looking guy.
I know right? Sad so many people let obesity rob their good looks.
He would never have gotten on TV period if he weren't good looking to some degree.
If Bob Barker made that decision about him to be on there I am glad and yes I have followed his career he has done well very well!!!!
Yeah, I'd hang out with Drew.
I’d love to be his friend too. He seems like someone who can bring fun to the table.
I am glad he is doing stand up again. It is how he started and he actually (at times) can be very funny. He is very good at it .
I loved the Drew Carey show. Where is Mimi????
Wow, he looks great after his weight loss! Way to go, Drew!
I love Drew. A decent human being.
Charley Rose loved the “getting laid” joke
You caught that!!!! Ha ha
Yikes
Drew carey still host the price is right to this day
love Drew forever. ❤️🌹
Happy 55th Birthday Drew Carey!

Actually TPIR has been on longer. Bill Cullen hosted the original version back in the 50s.
The 1950's version doesn't bare a lot of resemblance to today's version. I saw some of the early episodes repeated on GSN many years ago, so I forget what was different, but there was a huge difference.

Maybe tpir didn't stay on straight through?
I love Drew on TPIR. It reminds of the Doug Davidson version that ran half a season in the fall of 1994. I hoped Bob moved to that set later.
Wow he looks more handsome then in the 90’s! 🤩
Drew talks about tipping. Rumor is he drops $100 for everything. He's also always at the comedy store.
Why I changed my mind? I could give 10 million reasons why he accepted the job.
I love Drew Carey on The Price Is Right. Way better than Bob Barker.
A couple weeks ago a lady was on there and said she was on the Bill Cullen version of TPIR!
I think Drew would definitely appreciate that comparison.😃
Drew Carey has been the host of The Price is Right and continued on since The Drew Carey Show.
I’ve loved his comedy since The Tonight Show routine.
I LOVE DREW
A Class Act
Drew really does look like he has a fun time on the Price is Right
I would've loved to seen Drew run a season on Family Feud.
Semper Fi there Marine ....
Notice Charlie Rose's smirk at 1:46 lol now that he got the "boot"
I want to give a shout out to Drew Carey he's my favorite actor and he's my favorite hoes from The Price is Right I'm watching them right now he got on a green outfit which is my favorite color what's up Drew Carey 💚💚💚💚💚🌍
go back to sitcoms PLEASE....I hate game shows, but your sitcom was my favorite!!!!
He’s thinned out since Who’s Line
Wow, that man really slimmed down.
If only we could pull him away from Price is Right and have him replace Aisha Tyler on Whose Line!
you get to give people prizes that rarely do they actually get, simply because the taxes are outrageous
Like the tv show
haha he looks younger than when he was on whose line XD good job drew
Everybody says how genuine he seems but Everytime I hear him talk he can't help but talk about how rich and famous he is lol
Hard to believe a no-talent like Gayle King working alongside a legend like Charlie Rose.
Yeah...she's a journalist now because she's Oprah's bestie, lol?
The perfect replacement for The Price Is Right. I can’t believe it’s been 20 years already since Bob Barker died tho! 🤯
IDK if this is meant as sarcasm, but If it is 😂 and if not, Barker is still alive. He will be 96 in December.
Drew Carey looks different in every old TPiR show or interview I see him in.
Hey drew, give me a call...& keep up the good work!
From the side shot he looks just like the Drew Carey I remember from 20 years ago, but that front shot.. I can't decide if he looks health, old or both.
Smart Move Drew with finally going with TPIR. What was the Power of Ten??? Oh Power of 10.
Good choice for my favorite game
I wonder if he misses Whose line is it anyway?
Bob barker was the best host thiers no one eles like bob barker. It was better with him.. Its not the same.
Boy he has lost alot of weight He looks really good.
Don't like most people but I like Hugh Carey as he seems to be a good person.
Hugh? oh okay. I get the hint?
Steve Balistreri DREW........Carey
Equally as good as Bob Barker!❤
After losing all that weight he looks almost unrecognizable, but then he give that big smile and it's the same damn face.
Some say he's mean to his fans.
The Price Is Right succeeds in spite of Drew Carey
Drew's hair theory is incorrect. I had a business professional hair cut when both events happening. My hair is to the middle of my back.
Drew is a great host, but he cannot compare to Bob Barker. Replacements seldom live up to the bar set by the original.
good. guy.....
Drew crazy😁
I think Drew is better than bob well that's because I was born in 1999 and I was like 3 or 4 when I first saw the price is right and drew took over in I think it was 2007 so that's why I think drew is better
I was born in 1977 and think Drew can't compare to Bob Barker as host.

YUT!
He looks so much healthier. But I think he needs to gain just a little bit more weight.
How did they convince you.💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲

Does anyone else think he looked better big? He look sick.
