Not always having a water source so all I use is a henry hoover with a brush attached to it and it's perfect. Also, when I wash them I have to wait for them to dry before putting them back so I just never wash them. Great video mate

Never knew about testing the internal pump from the controller 👍🏻 thanks.
Changed a fair few vrv 3 compressors and components, yet to change any components on a vrv 4

Had to change a compressor and inverter board on a vrv 4 a few weeks ago definitely add an extra hour or so onto the quote it was a real pain to do but like you say there is enough movement in the pipes to allow the heat sink to be moved out of the way if your careful, loving the vids it's nice to see uk based ac servicing

The reason for the small brown spot on the ceiling tile under a condensate drain(when a clear leak is not obvious) is more likely due to sweating from the cheap thin wall white overflow (on hot humid days) could do with a insulating. Wish more people would use the grey pvc type

Bloody Terrible the installation of those isolators and do t get me started on SY! Your right it should be band.
As a spark I come across mess like this all the time but no one seems to give a crap.
Biggest problem with SY is that it has to be treated like a SWA and In the EAWR it’s required the strands have earth continuity. Just shows that the people installing these cables have no idea really what they are doing.
Great video, Iv just come across your channel keep up the good work . 👍🏼

  • @joep8520

You could have made yourself a blanked with all of that fuzz you removed!
I am with you on that disconnect; there was no need to penetrate the box on the top. Even if it had been sealed with a washer and/or a rubber boot, eventually those will breakdown and crack which will lead to a leak. They also really packed and pinched the load wires into the bottom of the box against their lower penetration. The installer seems to have a bit to learn.
Great video, really interesting to see these VRV/VRF systems, they are kind of rare here in Ohio.

😂 There was definitely enough fluff to make me a blanket, they were all pretty much like that !
Yes, not a very good electrical installation at all sadly 🤦🏻‍♂️ Hopefully they get it sorted before it causes any damage !

Good vid ! Hello from Orange County , California. U guys Have Hacks There too. 😂🤣 Too funny ! Water in a Service Disconnect is Not good. As u suspected. Our electrical is done differently Here. We Run a Water tight conduit and Pull wires through the conduit. That Hanging rubber Cable would not be legal here. It would be like using a piece of So cord outdoors which is strictly forbidden. Like # 31.

    • @hvacuk8975

OcRefrigeration , Hvac & Electrical Video's. Hey mate 👋🏼 Yes it’s definitely not the best electrical installation 🤦🏻‍♂️
The black cable is standard practice over here it’s SWA which has a steel armouring around to protect the cable. Normal practice would have been to gland it into the bottom of the isolator (disconnect) though !
The dangling cable was not good though 🤦🏻‍♂️
It’s interesting to see how different countries do different styles of work. I’ve had a look at a few of your videos mate 👍🏼👍🏼

I’ve changed quite a few of the VRV IV compressors, definitely not as easy to get out as the 3 units, but if you remove the sound jackets, it gives you a lot more room. On the boards, I use an adjustable bungee to hold the bracket in place while removing the wires, helps out quite a bit.

Yeah I changed a locked inverter compressor on the 4 it was a bit of of a pain in the ass. Used a rope and hook through fan shroud and shimmied it out the front of unit worked pretty good but yeah still kind of a pain. Biggest pain was recovering 96 lbs of refrigerant.

Great vid! I'm considering training, and had a few questions - Is it an essential part of the job to be able to work at heights? I've seen some buildings and factories where they are near the roof!
Is it dangerous in general? Electric shocks, moving parts, things like that
Thanks so much keep up the good work

    • @Impulse5596
      @Impulse5596 Рік тому

Nothing should be dangerous if the correct risk assessment is carried out first. There are working at height guidelines and HSE training courses for portable towers etc. Sadly these all come at a cost which will have to be factored in. I was at a MOD site a fews years ago where there is a total ban on any steps. Your van was inspected and not allowed on site should you have any.
