Being a real Gorean doesn't mean you're incapable of living by the customs of other cultures. That's like saying you can't be a real American if you speak German and know what beer is supposed to taste like.
And yes, women lived with the risk of slavery, just like men lived with the risk of death by the sword, but outside the sequences that an action fantasy needs, neither were happening wholesale.

What an idiot. You don't enslave people when you need them to do work for you. You pay them. Or learn to do it for yourself. Slavery was never a good economic model to begin with. Earth didn't have all that much slavery before cars came along. People just walked and rode horses. Actually, we would probably be better off if craftsmanship took over from machines. As intrigued as I am in Gorean culture, it has plenty of flaws that I can refute to make a man's ego crumble to not more than mere bits of flaky rubble. If these various images found on the internet is supposed to be Gorean free women, do you not think there is a bit to many cleavages around, it is called the robes of concealment for a reason. If you read the Gor books you see that while there are few places women is as covered as in Ar, there are not many places naked shoulders or cleavages would pass on a free woman, or rather a woman showing that much skin would not be free for long.

Robes of concealment cover the face, not just the body. So, basically if you have seen a potato sack , then you have your picture. But we never really meet a single free woman that stays free in any of the novels, so we don't have much to go on.

Not my impression. How about this. In Gor there were millions of ways a free woman could become slave. Even walking around with an unveiled face. So if you want to be real, then the next time you see a woman you want to make your slave, and she is showing her face, or dancing sensually(like in a bar) do what a REAL Gorean would do. They are clearly aimed at idiots. The writing style is like an example of how not to write. I have never seen prose that is both purple and beige at the same time. Then the jackass tells us that only about 2 percent of Gorean women are slaves. Yet, if that was true, then most Goreans would never havce even seen a slave girl, much less know stuff about them, like how they are supposed to kneel, or that they have brands. Especially if there is no television, or newspapers, how would there be a whol;e slave culture, with everyone participating, if slavegirls were only about two thousand people spread over the whole world? It make zero sense. And how would you have paga taverns each with a dozen to a hundred girls in different cities? Slave girls would be proportionally more rare then a red haired gay guy, and would all belong to a very few wealthy men. They wouldn't be running around the streets all over the place, being sold in bazars! 2 percent of the population means that most Goreans would not even know slave girls existed.
