I think there are a lot of misconceptions about the 50s. There may have been more class back then but on the whole I think the world is better now. I also cannot fathom why people praise the 50s for clebrating the fuller figured woman. The average waist line was a lot smaller back then and though the hourglass figure was more prominent it was on a more petite frame liek Marilyn Monroe or Dorothy Dandridge.
back then food was real and you ate at home with your family where you were taught manners on how not to be rude and low class by remarking on other peoples behavio or appearance. Back in the day someone would have slapped your face and sent you upstairs reminding you that yourself had alot of improvements to make before you should worry about others and what they need to do. Agreed, also racism was worse in the 1940s, further worse in the 1930s and it only got worse as you go further back in time through the 19th & 18th century. So pointing out the 50s as the "time of racism" just because that's when the civil rights movement began doesn't really make much sense IMO.
