I just recently bought this bad boy, had a hefty discount so I pay around 200 bucks for it and I am extremely happy, fan noise is noticeable when you turn it on but not a big deal once the audio from things you are watching starts, image is crisp if the environment is dark and the audio I cant complain, it is not mind blowing but I was not expecting good sound from it and was pleasantly surprised that it is more than good enough for watching series or movies you don't really have to hook up anything extra, its decent enough.
Also it is great that it is compatible with my amazon tv stick, you really have all the bells and whistles you would need out of this device, interface is easy and works real well, other than having some minor problems with audio from my amazon stick (just had to turn the dolby sound option off) it has been a real smooth experience and can recommend this product if you are looking for a budget projector cant go wrong with this one.
Really useful review! Do you know how far away it would need to be for a 80 inch screen? Or how big the screen would be a about 2.5m?

Hey man great review, thank you very much! I've had a situation with my brand new Energon 2. When i mounted it upside down on ceiling mode it started overheating within 3 minutes... I tried many times but no use. Then I tried using it normally in Desktop mode and it actually worked fine. Do you have any idea of what could be wrong? (There are no air obstructions, and the weather isn't that hot)
Also, is it possible to scale the projection up or down in the settings? I looked for it but couldn't find it... The place where I can set the projector casts a smaller projection than desired, can I make it bigger from the same place?
One last thing. The iOs mirroring doesn't work well with youtube, and the Macbook pro mirroring as well has a high latency, and glitches! Do you think this has to do with the Wi-fi connection speed? mine is not that great...

@@garyc1289 Hey, yes it solved on it's own! Those were very hot summer days so that probably had a lot to do, as soon as we let the air pass through more and the temperature dropped a bit it stopped overheating!

At any size dude, resolution will stay the same but you need to be far no to see pixels

Non great at all. Hot spot quite visible with gray panels, not in bright or dark scenes.
Does it have Bluetooth 5.0?
What would you choose between Artlii energon 2 and vamvo L6200 ??
These models look the same apart from one has Bluetooth wifi and the other has Dolby sound and I’m really struggling to choose which to go for.

Don't buy it. That review is fake. The projector is total garbage! It delivers nothing it offers.

@@Montekos86 yeah, really invest a bit more, it's worth it. There are some good Acer projecters around 500 til 700 euros, I really recommend to spend a bit more if you can afford it.

how r the colors? i heard tht there is a slight bluish tint to the picture in yg620 models. or is it accurate? can we set rgb values in settings? how accurate is the color representation
Colors are vivid. I can adjust them in settings. Rgb value can be set

@@kalyansuman6533 100 inch is a sweet spot imo. If you keep it at an angle u will get blurriness around edges. If u spend a bit mroe look up benqs 1080p gaming Projector. I have it and it is SOLID

Do u have a budget? There's tons of options depending on your price point. For a good budget one check out my review on thsi other 1080p led projector. That was really really bright and pretty affordable too

For those who, like me, finally made a deal with the producer and decided to keep the VP:
Do not use trapezoidal correction, it degrades the image enormously.
Use the "Soft" color profile with these settings:
Brightness: 50
Contrast: 45 or 50 (involves a transformation of magenta tones from pink to more yellow);
Colour: 35 or 40 depending on the content;
Sharpness: 20 or 25 MAX.
Take your time to correct the focus: if the projector is exactly perpendicular to the wall, you will get a good homogeneity.

Note that the poor optical quality implies that when the center of the image is perfectly on focus, the edges will not be, and vice versa.
It is necessary to find a middle-focus-point that represents a good compromise. I have succeeded.
For the hot spot, maybe with a gray canvas ...
Update: Projector is now broken after less then 100h of use. Apparently it depends by ventilation system. Do not buy it

Why are you telling people that the fan noise is under 30 DB? These budget projectors are all over 40 DB

I declare that I am not an expert in video projection and therefore I do not have a lot of benchmarks.
My judgment is therefore mainly based on my few personal skills and impressions.
But the quality is really on the verge of mediocrity.
To begin with: attempting to change the brightness and contrast results in immediate and noticeable degradation of the image.
Both should therefore be set to "50" and never be touched again, to avoid loss of color information and detail in highlights.
We then realize that the sharpness value of the images is too high: the texts and outlines of the figures are "reinforced" by a black thickness which serves to give the impression of greater detail.
Therefore, if you want to get a "clean" image, the sharpness should be reduced to at least 20.
The result is a flat, low contrast image with a bluish cast.
As long as it is particularly compressed content (like any Netflix movie) or without too much shades of dark colors (like cartoons), the quality is more than acceptable.
But some color tones simply cannot be reproduced by this VP.
"The Last of Us 2", full of blacks and shades of gray, looks like a giant dark spot.
And besides, but it was surely my mistake, there is no optical zoom, only digital.
Which is practically unnecessary.
Indeed, even by scaling the size of the image towards zero, the projected area obviously remains the same.
Consequently, the more you decrease the zoom value, the more the resolution of the image decreases.
Likewise keystone correction is unnecessary: as soon as you touch it, the upper and lower extremities become extremely blurry. The only way to take advantage of the (already low) definition of the projector is to place it perpendicular to a wall, at the appropriate height, and never move it again.
Rather sturdy and difficult to use focus ring.
Discreet Audio: The projector is quite loud, but the audio covers enough hum. Nothing fancy, but still usable.
If the colorimetry and contrast were slightly better, and the definition worthy of full HD, I wouldn't have anything to say.
But seeing high definition content that looks like 540p on this projector really hurts. Despite the low price.
The only really positive thing I can say: excellent input lag and bluetooth functions!
P.S: Don't be fooled by tests that use 4K images to check image quality. It is not with those that should be tested.
