Adding XY Data to ArcGIS

I followed all of your instructions, but when I click OK, my x,y points don't show up on the viewing window. They are added under layers but aren't actually visible on the map. Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi Eleanor, there are some possible causes:
1. zoom to layer
2. make sure that the layer is visible
3. make sure symbology is correctly set
4. you might also want to check your excel file and make sure that you have correctly inputted the number (Sometime decimal is represented with comma or full stop, depending your system setting).
