You can do that by opening an edit session. I should have a tutorial so you can edit features such as points and physically move them to another location or specify an X/Y where they should be located.
I could locate the places using the data from excel , converting it into layer but I could not locate the name of the places at those points...I have the name of the places in my attribute table...what should I do to include the name of the places at those site locations...please help
In this instance, what I am thinking is that your X and Y are not numbers, per se. For these columns, they are expecting numbers. If you bring in data that is stored as text, then your add data tool will probably not recognized it. "41.23" is a #, but if it is stored or brought in as a text then it may not find it. Make sure you have columns that have the data stored as double or float.
I added the XY data but it is still not displayed on the map, what can I do to fix this?
This!! I have been looking for this for so long time!! Thank you!!!
Did you create that text file? is that degrees decimal?
No - I didn't create that file. I got that from NOAA web site and it is in decimal degrees.
Hi! I was wondering if you knew how to change the X and Y coordinates by physically moving the dot on ArcMap?

@@DEEGSNCCU PLEASE provide the link to change point having lat-long to next location by adding XY coordinate.

You can open an edit session and type them in if it doesn't automatically come over form the Add X/Y process.
excuse me, the moment I'm going to put x and y, I get empty, what do I have to do?
