If we dont have the same column name how can you join it shows the error. I mean u have a column name locid in shape file but in excel you have column name origin. How can you join

Yasin2ray try right clicking on the shapefile (while in arcmap)-> data --> export data: the new shapefile has all the info and no joins :)

What if there is no field in common?
Then make one, or you obviously can't make a join.
