A year after taking my partner Isabel on our planned shakedown cruise in Mallorca that became “The Shakedown Cruise from Hell” in Ep3 , we departed for Athens and Pueto Heli in Greece for our second attempt at a romantic cruise aboard Vayu.
Ive learned that Sea Sickness is something to take seriously and be managed with care. Its not hard but for a sailor who will sail in any weather its important to STOP take great care should to help those who suffer from sea sickness so they too can enjoy the beauty of cruising. That is all this episode is all about. Enjoy!
This channel of Sailing Adventures with Grandad, started after our long Covid battle. After the mentioned shakedown, I departed Palma de Mallorca going East around Sicily, across the Ionian, transiting the Corinth Canal and have been in the Aegean for this whole season of 2023.
SAILING ADVENTURES WITH GRANDAD are my amateur creations of my travels and experiences on Vayu my 44 ft X-yacht Vayu. The people I travel with, the places we go, the times we have and my reflections on living this adventure.
Thanks for allowing this amateur storyteller the opportunity to share these little stories that require an imense effort. Your appreciation means a lot to me.
A lifetime sailor, practicing yogi, father of 4, grandad of 6, amateur chef, and thankful man. I live between Palma de Mallorca, Vayu my sailboat and Los Cabos Mexico. I share my life now with my beautiful partner Isabel who joins me sailing in this episode as we take on the challenge of Sea Sickness that can turn to Veritgo.

Just found your adventure sailing Vayo.
Im a norwegian guy living in Sweden with my wife and 2 boys. Im 58 now and did allot of sailing in my 20ies.
Im about 10 years we will sail to Greece and be there for some years. Our adventure😅
Worked in greece in the 80s. Know it pretty well. Started in Loutraki and thats a place i recomend visiting. Also see the monastary in the mountain looking over Loutraki and Korinth.
