Thank you. It has been fun upgrading the rigging and hardware and has made a huge increase in performance. Everything works smoothly and makes sailing even more fun!
Thank you! It seems like there’s lots of beautiful lakes to sail around the mountains there and the N16 is perfect for that. Thanks for watching and fair winds!
As someone who almost bought a trailer sailer, (I ended up with a grampian 26 on lake ontario I drive 40 mins to sail), this video makes me very very happy. Great video, and I've subscribed! All the best from Peterborough Ontario.
Oh man, Thanks. It’s definitely time to splash the boat! The weather was perfect today as I worked at the marina. I was super jealous of all the sailors who left to go catch some wind!
Thank you for sharing your adventures, but the music is VERY distracting. Could you either lower the volume or choose something more calming in the intro.
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your opinion. I usually have the music volume up a little bit to build a little excitement at the start to match our excitement starting the trip. I also like loud music so it’s probably my style. I’ll have some chill videos for sure but I like to match the mood.
@@ruddyducksailing This is such a common problem, usually with music enjoyed only by a very few that I wonder if creators could put some kind of notation on the screen so we know when to un-mute?
Eventually I will have boat tour videos and info to share but in the meantime if you have specific questions feel free to message me and I’ll try to answer
Boys: You’re no wrong pirating PRINGLES from the Mother Ship. We found PRINGLES are ubiquitous in virtually every grocery store we shopped when we were sailing from Canada south and then west through the entire South Pacific island groups. They are a staple aboard S/V Tahnee Mara.
On average about a half hour. I usually set up everything while on the trailer. To set up mast, boom, sails, lines, outboard, rudder, and launch takes me 20 minutes but I’ve done it quite a few times so I’m pretty quick.
Love how you have kitted your boat out with modern rigging (sheets, lines, shrouds, blocks, low friction rings, etc. Well done!)
Thank you. It has been fun upgrading the rigging and hardware and has made a huge increase in performance. Everything works smoothly and makes sailing even more fun!
What Larry and Lin Pardy said about cruising applies to sailing in general: Go small, go simple, but go NOW.
Absolutely. They had amazing adventures on their little boat ! Sometimes simple is the way to go
I'm trying. Took asa 101 last year, just can't afford to go .
Thank you for sharing the family adventures afloat. Lots of fun and inspiring to watch!
My pleasure! We definitely have fun and are glad to have been an inspiration! Thanks for watching
Sailing is one of the best ways I've spent my life.
Same here! It has changed our lives in a very positive way.
Hello from South Korea. I really enjoyed and like this beautiful and peaceful video. Plus onion flavor is also my favorite!
Hi . I am glad you liked the video as we enjoyed sharing our experience. Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy watching your adventures, although they are bitter sweet for me as I do miss my orange Newport 16.
Hey thanks for watching! An orange one would be so cool but I definitely understand the appeal of different boats! Fair winds.
We love your videos. We live in Portland and have been sailing our 1969 Newport 16 for the last 6+ years
Thank you! It seems like there’s lots of beautiful lakes to sail around the mountains there and the N16 is perfect for that. Thanks for watching and fair winds!
I love that kind of racing!
Me too . It’s very peaceful
Sailing is awesome!
Grew up with my dad's boat in Marblehead MA.
Great "ghosting" sailing in smooth water...
Yes sailing is awesome! I’m so thankful I stumbled into it five years ago as it has made a huge impact on our lives.
That blue Ruddy Duck looks just like a Sirius Siren 17 that I had back in the mid 70's. Brings back some memories.
Oh that’s cool. Fun little boats , thanks for watching
Ah man this is getting me so excited to go visit Sandpoint for the 4th. Your videos are great, so fun to watch.
Hey, thanks for watching the videos and have a great 4th!! Sandpoint is a great place to be and we always enjoy our time up there .

Thank yo so much for watching and subscribing, it means a lot to us! May you have fair winds and grand adventures on Lake Ontario.
Amazing how much of a differance a foot or two can make in a sailboat.
Makes a huge difference! My 16 has so much more room and comfort than the 15. It’s crazy how a foot or two is noticeable on large keelboats also
WOW !! That 1 boat looks EXACTLY like my old 27' clipper Marine I had there for 4 years..
Sweet. Great place to sail with an amazing community of sailors.
So inspiring on both the content and production lines. Need to up my own production and get my boat wet for the season! Looks like you had fun.
Feeling the same! 😊

Super bummed I missed it, but well catch up this weekend!!
Sounds good! Can’t wait to see all the work you have done to your boat
Awesome what a great time👍👍
Thanks , we definitely had a fun weekend
Good stuff, love it!!
Thank you!!!!

Very nice which part of the US is this thanks.
Inland Northwest. Idaho
More information on these sailboats would have nice that’s the only reason I watched
Eventually I will have boat tour videos and info to share but in the meantime if you have specific questions feel free to message me and I’ll try to answer
Still got a horn, well done.
Thanks 😊

lol. Yes pringles are a favorite provision and they go fast!! They’re also nice because they can roll around in a bilge and not get all smashed up
Gotta love Buttonhook.
Always a great quick retreat. Good place to test out a new boat also
Do you and friends carry vhf radios for outtings? I really should travel more. Great lake.
Yes we do! We carry handheld vhf radios and monitor channel 16. Most boats on our lake have them so it is a good safety feature
@@ruddyducksailing What lake is it?
Pendoreille
Cmon Ruddy, we spell it Lake Pend Orial
Fantastic. 🇦🇺👍🍺🍺
Thank you! Cheers!
한가로움의 미덕이 마움을 편안하게합니다
Definitely, and nourishes our soul.
Can I have some pringles 😂
Ha ha ha. They definitely went fast!
Where is "Bayview"? Somewhere in Canada?
It is in North Idaho about 90 miles south of the Canadian border on lake Pendoreille
Epic!
😊 Thanks
RAMMING SPEED!!!!!!!!!!
😂
What kind of boat won?
A San Juan 24 won that day. It wasn’t across the line first but won on corrected time as we race with a sort of handicap to make all boats competitive
11:05 Movin ⛵️
Good steady wind is a lot of fun!
How long does it take you to rig these boats from trailer to sailing?
On average about a half hour. I usually set up everything while on the trailer. To set up mast, boom, sails, lines, outboard, rudder, and launch takes me 20 minutes but I’ve done it quite a few times so I’m pretty quick.
Thank you. I always enjoy your videos.
Where is this?
Lake Pendoreille Idaho
@@ruddyducksailing I live in BC looks very similar
55 year old boat
Yes! And still going strong.
Why on earth would you use such awful muzak for a SAILING video? Sound OFF!
Because I liked it.
