Wife and I like it better at two than regular Splendor. Great game.
Have you tried playing regular Splendor with the expansions? If so, do you guys still prefer Splendor Duel?

@@maxfaf259 We will play with the orient portion or the trading post. Found the strongholds didn’t do much for us and the cities were just fancy extra scoring. Probably still do Duel for a while as is newer to us. Like the orient cards with more people though.
Thanks for the thorough review! I’m a fan of game designer, Bruno Cathala, and love 7 Wonders Duel and Sobek 2. Splendor Duel seems more similar to Sobek 2 than 7 Wonders duel which seems more complex. Love the Agora expansion with 7 Wonders Duel, almost seems like a game in itself. So, is the investment worth it for Splendor Duel in consideration of the games just mentioned? Well, I do love a game specifically designed for 2 players. Meant to mention, that I do enjoy the Splendor original game too; although, I think it makes a great filler or end of game night game.
I think Splendor Duel feels perfect for 2 players in a way that regular Splendor doesn't (for 2 players), and it's more compact for traveling. It's not vital, like 7 Wonders Duel, but it's a strong version.
We have 7 Wonders Duel and we love it, we have never played Splendor though. This looks like a simple version of 7 Wonders Duel, therefore not worth buying?
I'd say they are pretty different: each "duel" version is a focused 2-player experience of said game (Splendor or 7 Wonders). I like 7 Wonders a bit more because it's juicier, but Splendor is just a great entry-level/casual game and the Duel version doesn't disappoint.
Eh, this one has a much smaller luck impact than 7WD. It is extremely rare that a card showing up will completely skewer the game towards a player. In 7WD opening the wrong card has a pretty good chance of sealing a game between 2 equally skilled players.
Out of the two Splendors, the best one is 7 Wonders Duel.
