Love Sprawlopolis. This seems like a neat variation. The medieval/roman/egyptian themes make me want a Westworld themed Sprawlopolis, where you make Westworld, Fantasyworld, Shogunworld etc for fans of the movie/tv series

The -opolis universe just keeps on sprawling

I've only played this as a 4-player game, and my main complaint is that it's insanely easy to win every time. You also get the power boost of those extra 2 player abilities, proficiencies, etc. We haven't even lost 1 location, let alone a game. I also think 4-player fixes a lot of these problems you mentioned (it cycles through the deck super quickly, adds value to the "all players" cards, etc.). I think my only other concern would be that this game doesn't seem to scale from 2 to 4 players very well, based on the complaints I've been reading from people who are playing this with only 2 people.

Kimberly I totally agree with your party game choices. I purchased caution signs at Pax Unplugged this year and already had it at the table over the holidays. We played with 8 people and everyone loved it. Some other party games we got to the table that were a big crowd favorite and they are - Fun Facts, Hipster, Priorities and Fake artists goes to NY. Love to know your thoughts on them as well. Just ordered it's kind of a funny story so thank you for your recommendation.

Thank you for this quality summary! I remember reading that the 2nd edition won't be made available for retail in my region (as from what I gathered it would have been available only in the US, and KS pledges for ROW), so I proceeded with buying a used FE copy. Only to see not one, but three local retailers stock it up literally a couple days after my used copy arrived. Oh well, judging by how much you liked the game in the first place, this won't stop me from enjoying it either.

Being a fan of Ticket to Ride and On the Underground, this game looks right up my alley. Great mechanisms in an easy to learn and teach game. Rewarding to build. I do wish it supported more than 4 players as we often have more than 4 players. Putting this game on my wish list.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. Our HUGE box has just arrived! As it will be just my wife and myself playing, would you recommend one character each (a party of 2) or two characters each (a party of 4)? Really looking forward to this adventure. We’re really new to this hobby.

We have 4 players and can NOT beat it. It’s impossible. I’m thinking about taking the horcruxes out, maybe that will make it better. That and stacking the villains by level like you stated. This game just pisses is off instead of having fun :(

I love this series of well-crafted mysteries involving logic, common sense and deduction. I completed Houston 2015 many months ago, and just started Monaco 1955 last week. Unlike most people, I play solo and very, very slowly allowing myself to turn over only 1 or 2 story cards per day. This really enhances the overall experience for me as I get immersed into the excellent theme(s) and the wonderfully written narrative, and gives me the necessary time to piece together all the various clues and events that occur.

We bought Salton Sea and still haven't got it on the table. Devir is fantastic and we have to make time for this one.

Keep one copy of each spell you buy during a game. Put the rest back like normal and take one token for each card you returned. Before starting the next game, spend the tokens buying items from the shop's deck and discard the remaining tokens. I feel like this system makes sense. You build up your character as you progress through each year and get a tiny amount of money to buy a couple items to prepare for the next game

I do not like the outlook of the game table. Is that handdrawn?

Can you have new friends join for the next act? Do characters continue from act 1 to 2? Can someone join just for act 2 and then leave after that finishes?
