The final song of their 10th anniversary tour, winding up a 33-song, 3 hours and 45 minutes long concert in Yokohama. There's so much emotion and a genuine connection with the fans in the crowd.
Thanks Jack. This was the last song after 3:45hrs of performance and the energy never dropped. I was there and it felt like it was over so fast. An amazing night 🙂
Great to see you with another BM deep-dive!!! As many may have posted this was the finale of the 3 3/4 hour 10th Anniversary show back last November 2023.
Great analysis Jack! You picked out a lot of details that I missed and I learned what glitter cannons were. Bonus points for stick figure drawings and Jeopardy music.
Very few bands have contributed to the rock music scene over the last 10 years as has this band. I hope more people will realize the musical greatness on display before our very eyes.
The song immediately before was "Forward," one of their first. It became about their journey over 10 years. They played early videos of them playing tiny clubs.
Nice in depth review👍. Yep 10th anniversary ending song at Yokohama area, the canons were filled with the streamers that had Band Maid 10th anniversary (or something like that) printed on them. Nice souvenir if you got one. Oh yeah nice stick figure drawings in the middle 😅 🤘🏻
Hadn't even thought of! that, but you're totally right those would be great keepsakes. There's something about shoddy attempts at drawing that I've always enjoyed
FYI, the ribbons are the "glitter". Hence the cannons instead of guns 😊. The maids did not skimp on their 10th anniversary final! And thanks for another great analysis, Jack!
There wasn't a dry eye among the band at the end of this show. In the documentary about this Yokohama Arena concert, they were so emotional to be there making a dream come true that they were all on the verge of crying before the show. Misa handed out appreciation notes to the other four just before they were going on stage, and they were all just fighting back the tears. As Akane walked out from the wings toward the stage, they all looked at each other and said "She's going to cry." Those were some pretty intense emotions they were feeling. Saiki's voice breaking was authentic emo. They just have so much heart. Ohrenje's YT channel has Miku's letter of thanks to the other members and the crowd that she read out during her MC time.
Does the outro solo need to be on a guitar? If not, there is a version of FM by Steely Dan that has both Guitar and Saxophone solos as the outro, it's my preferred version of the song.

Saiki's voice cracking, from holding back tears, everyone in the audience, fans watching the show in front of the computer was crying, couldn't sing chorus, I was trying though. btw the middle eastern emo you are talking about...I think resembles traditional Japanese tune a bit, which also resembles traditional Chinese, there's no surprise if the influence came from ancient Persia, to India, to China to Japan. I'm just assuming.
This song was such a surreal moment during a 3.5 hour + concert. I think her voice cracked near the end because she was trying not to cry. It was an emotional rollercoaster ride the entire night, I can only imagine what it was like for the five of them onstage. Thanks for doing this!
The finale to their 10th anniversary concert and the 33rd song of the night. When they first got to do a gig after the plague years lockdowns they ended with this song for the fans to join in with and poor Akane on drums cried her eyes out. Which is possibly a condition that is catching as I did the same after watching all 3.5 hours of this gig and ending with this! Blooming onion ninjas! Saiki's voice is so full of emotion and Miku's harmonies are as beautiful as the lyrics she wrote to this song..."Whatever tomorrow brings, whatever the future holds - no giving up. This is the mark of Life".🤘 Superb analysis as always and, again as ever, this great song becomes even greater after you've explained about the tempo and compositional choices and why it evokes such emotional power (or EMOtional power?). 🤘 In Guitar News...PRS finally made a model for Kanami - a 24-08 Private Stock model with her custom mods added, such as coil taps with 8 settings set between the Tone and Volume pots and the most glorious golden quilting on top and on the plates on the back, a Band-Maid logo in abalone just above the nut and abalone fret markings that are stylised designs of their usual bird markings. It's pretty feckin' gorgeous, basically! 🤘
Blooming onion ninjas- so is that the full name of the song, of just like a rare Japanese cut? EMOtional power indeed, genius! Great to hear, good for her!

they capture a very special moment
That was an awesome job dude!. You are really good unraveling the music sir. Seriously, this is by far the best deep dive os this song. Thank you!
Awesome, so glad to hear that!!!
WOW! The longest segment of Band Maid music was 8 seconds. You have an ADD perceptive musical radar. That is a compliment 😊
Lmao! A bit compliment indeed, concepts just tends to just snowball and these guys pack so much in the issue is just exacerbated, haha!

They're total maniacs!
They always make me wish for the moment to last forever.

Loved this deep dive, well done! This is such an awesome ending song, it is not just her eyes that get watery :). Thanks for sharing!!
My pleasure dude!

I am truly glad the stick figures illustrated the point!
21:59 i have never thought of i-iv-v as some sort of a musical narrative / exposition, but you described the chord change so accurately.
I wish I could remember who explained it like that to me, I think it was a guitar tutor when I studied, but really not sure!

Upwards and onwards!

That's when the tears started.
Nice nod back before power onwards!

Best thumbnail of the year.
UA-cam is testing 3 of them, did you get the emo one?
@@JbfMusicGuitar Yes. I'm sad 2/3 of the people won't see it.

Probably the reason you don't hear a lot of the crowd at the end is all the crying. 😭😭😭
Wonderful to experience moments like that!
👍👍👍👍👍
I think I counted 48 "cool"s. Mincho mission accomplished.
"Cool". 49.🙂
I need to expand my vocabulary!
@@JbfMusicGuitar 😂 I think the Maids would be very pleased with 48 cool"s. Also, Miku says "Po" for just about anything, so you are in good company.

I’m not crying ….You’re crying.
We're all crying
the last part when you said that that sound like a song from Radiohead would it be the song "Today" from Smashing Pumpkins you were thinking of?
Thank you!!!!! That's the one, could not for the life of me figure out what it was from, thanks!
The song you are thinking of at 36:20 sounds like Today by Smashing Pumpkins
yep my thoughts exactly and we know Misa is a fan of them i wonder if it was her idea
Cheers dude- just had a listen to it, you're spot on!
I couldn't place it, kept thinking of Weezer!
Written by Kanami to play at this very venue. She grew up close by and talked about her dream of playing there several years before.
Very cool, so not even just as a crow sing along song, as far as even begin designed for a specific venue. Awesome
It's easier for me to listen to it once and then have it shredded the second time, rather than chopping it up the first time
He did an initial listen through without pauses in another video.
