I had to take a bit of a break, but continued where I stopped at. You can't learn by stopping in the middle of class. Greatly appreciate the time and effort you put into showing us how to do this. Oh yea, before I forget again, From one Vet to another, Thank You For Your Service, And truly hope you enjoy your Memorial Day...
No worries and you are very welcome. Hope you have a great Memorial Day as well.
Would really like a good demonstration on the measuring process to prepare for these wrap styles

I have been watching all of them! Looking at pictures of rods that are finished, it just looks like something I could never do. But seeing how it’s done give me confidence to try!
@@the_pope_clan2408 - you just have to try it at some point as I am sure you are more than capable of doing just. Just try it, and then keep practicing.
Great video John. 2 questions. 1) Is there a reason why you went 5,3,2,1 as opposed to 5,4,3,2,1?
2) Would you use size D thread with the A on a rod or keep the thread the same size?
Thanks
Thanks for asking Reeltime. I would keep the size the - if you use A then use A for all colors and the same goes for D. As for the fade sequence, you could do it either way, but the reason I used 5 and then jumped to 3,2,1 is because I was trying to make a little larger color block before the fade. Does this help?
@@reelbluecustomrods That helps a lot. Thanks
@@reeltime1 - very welcome.
Great video John. I tried it and my center seam slants down toward the tail on every fish. What would cause that? Thanks
Make sure you are not pulling the thread to tight, as that can cause your seem to be wavy or crooked. Thank you for watching and commenting Bob.
Ótimo trabalho parabéns
Gracias. 🙏
When you go down and back how do you remember to always start on the right one?
I make marks in the tape so I can remember which ones I’m working on.
If you use the dark color all the way back, do you still do two wraps forward for the head as well? Would this be considered a closed wrap then? Thanks for making this video.
Yes, I do Michael, but you essentially wouldn’t have to if you don’t want to. Hope this helps, and thanks again for watching and commenting.
Can you do the American flag wrap please?
Here is the link to part 1, and there is two more associated with it. Let me know what you think. ua-cam.com/video/qsEEn4i3XAc/v-deo.html

Thank you very much, and I’m glad you like it.
Not real good, but after a few hours dont have thw heart to take it all off. Should have mentioned this is an ice panfishing rod that I want to build. Its backwards and thought i was out of room so only used 2 strands on tail instead of three. Not sure how to send you a picture if how it turned out and ask for your comments. Thanks!
You can email me the picture. Info@reelbluecustomrods.com
Could you not use 1/4 inch masking tape for a guide on your grey space And then pull off
Use the tape to hold the guide on while you wrap it?
Are you counting up and back as 1, or counting 1 up and 2 back???
Up and back is the same number. Thank you for watching and commenting.
how can i purchs the dvd?
I’m don’t have a DVD Chun.
Had a question weres a good place to get blank rods like the ones you use?
The wooden dowels or actual rod blanks?
LOOKS LIKE THE FISH ARE ALL AROUND THE ROD, ? not just on side?
They are on two sides of the rod Terry, and thank you for watching and commenting.
SiiiiicK wraP
Thank you Bob, and I’m glad you like it. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I know this is old vid, but what was the measurements you used? Please!

Thanks, I’m going to try the wrap tomorrow with different colors hope it looks as good as yours.!
@@johnnyferguson2401 - I’m sure it will Johnny, and feel free to send me a picture of how it turns out as I would love to see it.

How far apart are your dots
It doesn’t matter how far apart mine are. Just make sure they are equally spaced. That being said, I usually start by using the butt diameter distance for my dot spacing and then adjust from there.
Thanks
