Just got myself a new Kevlar 16ft prospector and getting ready to fit it out to be ready for spring. I totally get you having a cup of tea to calm down before drilling holes in a nice new canoe.
good video. Im debating whether to install airbags in my vagabond. But I cant bring myself to drilling holes in the boat. lol Im trying to figure out a way to lace in bags without going thru the hull. happy paddling!
I want to do exactly what you've demonstrated there on me new Hou 13ft. Top marks for technique and method etc. Only gripe is that I lost you on the sound a bit, you're quite muffled so I had to crank the sound right up. A little lav mic would do it.
Thanks Andy, yes since I shot this I've purchased a mic and when the new videos go up hopefully their will be an improvement with the quality. But I couldn't wait to work on the canoe and we work with what we've got (GoPro). I hope its helped with your own project.
Dee Tee it obviously depends on the length of boat, but the rule of thumb is one and a half lengths of the boat for lacing each side. This will leave some left over for handy tie downs.
I’d put tubing on the loops to keep fishing lures from staging the rope

just take it one step at a time and measure, measure and measure. then check again ha ha
Enjoyed the video. I may need something stronger than tea before drilling holes in my canoe though. Greetings from Satellite Beach, Florida.

I got a prospector 17 sp3 and want to do the same. Can I damage the boat in any way? What is the risk 😄 Sorry I’m new to canoe.
Simon P. Hello, the SP3 is a pretty indestructible boat just be sure to measure accurately before any drilling.
Thx big time 😊 and thx for the video, It’s a huge help. Just what I was searching for. 😊
Simon P glad to hear, tell everyone you know to subscribe and we could end up with a fleet of canoes
What length cord did you use for each side?
