Thank you for reading before commenting:
In the live chat, a distributor informed me that you you don’t have to give the company your SSN and become a distributor just to buy the product and someone else sent me a screenshot of the back office to confirm that!
Also, while I know I probably made it seem like I think this in the video, I do not think kangen water is a scam. Enagic makes basically no claims about the water, it's the distributors/customers. Customers can say whatever they want about any product and that doesn't make something a scam. Like I could say grapes cure diabetes but that doesn't make grapes a scam. If grape companies were saying they did then that would be a different story.
OCTOBER 2021 UPDATE: Enagic has finally put out an income disclosure statement. According to this document, the median income for all US distributors in 2020 was $440 (median= half made more, half made less). Only 1/3 of distributors made more than $1,000 in the whole year. This is certainly better than some MLMs, but still clearly not amazing stats.
6A is considered a high rank in Enagic, it's like you've "made it" in the company once you reach it and it's promoted as being a rank where you make a lot of money. The median income for 6A distributors was $5,710 though. Insane. You can make more working part time for minimum wage.

Oh my gosh yes- I was just watching a video debunking alkaline water about that an hour ago and in it the person showed a clip of someone saying that just because lemons are acidic doesn’t mean they don’t have alkalizing properties when put in the body 😑

jzizzles did you even read anymore than a sentence of these? Just looking at the healthline one, i could not find where it says that the minerals in lemons alkalize the *body* as you say they do. On the other hand they say, “while lemon juice may make the pH of the urine more alkaline, it does not have the same effect on the pH of your blood.” And “any health benefits lemon juice may offer are unlikely to come from its purported alkalizing effect.”
So are you cherry picking from these articles or just not reading them at all?

If I was the one that didn’t read, why did you respond with an ad hominem attack instead of demonstrating your claim that I didn’t read? Am I just suppose to take your word for it because you said so? Where does the heathline article say that lemons can alkalize the body specifically because I could only find them saying it alkalizes urine.

This video is a little older so I don't know if anyone will see my comment but: 1) Thank you so much for this content, it clearly took a ton of work/time and I'm very grateful to people who are willing to put in that effort in order to combat misinformation. I feel as though the rising number of people in American society that are willing to dismiss evidence-based information is scary at best, and has and will continue to cause problems going forward. I really appreciate you being one of the people out there that is interested in discouraging people from believing in lies that are harmful to them and others around them.
    2) Betting on Zero is an AWESOME documentary, it goes into Herbalife's unethical practices as well as this crazy drama between two billionaires, one of whom is trying to expose Herbalife for what it is and even uses certain stock purchasing/selling practices in order to try to bring the stock of Herbalife down to discourage people from investing. The other billionaire is trying to discredit the guy doing this. It's super interesting and informative.

As a kangen water machine owner (not by choice since my parents decided not to consult me to buy this $5000 hunk of Garbo) I think the cost far outweighs any magical claims this machine is said to provide. There is so much water wastage when using this machine, basically if you want a gallon of drinking water, there is also a gallon of water you have to waste (I always say that these people probably have a share in PG&E). There is also this mini water filter that costs around $120 including shipping that you have to replace around 2-3 times per year. Along with that there is also a salt solution that is needed so the water can be enhanced. Basically I hate this machine I have punched it a few times now because of how stupid it is that my parent got tricked by my aunt into buying this thing. Also my grandfather who is diabetic has worked hard and tried to exercise and when his results improved, my aunt (the distributor) sees this, she attributed the improvements to the “holy water” and not the change in diet and lifestyle. This machine is lucky that I am in California, if not I would have bought a gun and put a few holes in it now.

@Anna's Analysis I use to work for enagic and I too was a distributor and I own a leveluk sd501 ionizer. With that said, it's just a pyramid scheme and a MLM scam. It's smoke and mirrors, "snake oil" I use my machine now as just a water filter which I buy from another company mind you named A20 which sells water filters that are made in the USA, filter down to 0.5 microns, and are WAAAAAY better than the basic chlorine filtering enagic filters which are only filtering at a fraction of that. As far as health benefits...... None, it's the same as drinking tap water honestly, and to save yourself thousands just spend a few hundred dollars and get yourself a nice under the sink water purification system from home Depot 👍 I regret buying my machine for $4,000 and selling them to others. I'm basically stuck with a fancy counter paper weight and honestly I'm planning on selling it. These machines only cost about $300 to make in the Japan factory to FYI 👍

These machines have electrodes that still need to be replaced. So they are not environmentally friendly. At least plastic water bottles can be recycled.

Now, add the amount of filters getting tossed in the trash. There is so so many benefits and honestly if this was a scam or a pyramid scheme then why is it still here? Why are people spending $5000 on water machines if they don’t work? It’s because they do work for gods sake the water that comes out of K8 can remove oil based pesticides off fruits and veggies and can emulsify oils in water. 39:49 Hey, just to make you all aware, this is not at all how professionals test water pH, at least not the ones who make all of our food. I'm a Horticultural student whose focus is crop production and we need to check the water feeding the crops daily in produce greenhouses. We use meters with probes to test both pH and EC as they provide a level of accuracy that other methods, which rely on colour matching by eye, simply does not. However, if you do not have one of these expensive meters you would typically have pH testing paper that you would place individual droplets of water on with a dropper to test to be as accurate as possible, never by placing a random number of drops of a solution into a glass with a sample of varying volume.
Anna mentioned him adding different amounts of the dropper fluid, but I also noticed the glasses of water at the end had differing amounts of water in them also. Nothing about this test is scientific in the slightest, but it does look good under the carnival lights I am sure.
Excellent video. I wish it had been out 15 years ago, but I am glad it's gotten out eventually.

      @EvryOneLuvsIan 3 роки тому

Agreed, there are pH probes (i.e combination electrodes) that are used for quantitatively accurate pH readings. They work by creating a closed circuit between the electrolytic reference solution inside the probe (usually silver chloride) and the presence of positively charged hydrogen ions outside the probe (in solution). The reference solution (control) generates a constant electric current (in mV) and when introduced to a foreign solution, will then measure the electrical difference (in mV) between the external current (in solution) and internal current (control) before generating a pH reading for the end user. The difference here between the two methods is that a pH probe can give you a discernable quantitative number to work with, while relying on your subjective senses (eye sight) can only ever give you a qualitative understanding of what's going on, which is oftentimes not good enough data to prove a point.

A lot of studies are funded by Pharma, you’re probably fine most studies funded by Pharma have positive results for pharmaceuticals negative results for things like supplements.

You have a lot to learn about this water. The high pH waters made by these machines are not pure as these are not water purifiers.
And the water is a great way to destroy health.
The water is made alkaline by the production of caustic, FREE RADICAL FORMING, mineral (metal) hydroxides. In short, these are dilute versions of dangerous substances such as Drano (potassium hydroxide), lye (sodium hydroxide) and caustic lime (calcium hydroxide). All these products comes with warning labels not to ingest or allow contact with tissues since they are so damaging to tissues.
These mineral (metal) hydroxides are unstable and dissociate forming the dangerous free radical known as the hydroxyl radical, which has been lined to cancer and other diseases.
These hydroxides also neutralize stomach acid, which can lead to numerous health issues. These include cancer for a variety of reasons, heart disease, immune suppression, digestive issues, allergies, some forms of arthritis, hormone and neurotransmitter imbalances, etc.

Drinking more water than before, eating healthier foods, moving more. So many things also, the placebo effect. I guarantee that if you gave people a water filtration system from Amazon and told them all the great benefits it has and convinced them of it they would come back making the same claim you are. The placebo effect is extremely strong. The mind can do amazing thing when it doesn't know the difference.

Yet the company that manufactures the product doesn't put one benefit to back up said claim. Do you know why? Because it is illegal to make such claims without scientific evidence and research. I find that a huge red flag. Testimonials are great and all however, I can convince my grandmother that placing a water filter off Amazon would work wonders on her joints she will believe it and begin experiencing less pain and more mobility. Is it the water no, it is the belief that some amazing is happening when it is her own body that is changing how she thinks. It is absolutely no different than how anti-vaxxers or flat-earthers think. The placebo effect is amazing on how it works on the mind. Also blind faith.

What frustrates me is that some of the ideas and beliefs of these people are quite radical in a good way (imo) e.g. challenging the status quo, challenging the idea that you have to get a 9-5 to succeed, questioning pharmaceutical companies and the elite generally etc. And you just know that those who are challenged by MLMers can say 'oh look how stupid it is that these people challenge us, they're so stupid and ignorant', and consequently tarnish the reputation of any person or group who wants to challenge the establishment. It's like how as soon as you criticise 21st century capitalism people jump to call you a communist or a Marxist because anyone who is left wing or wants society to go in a more socialist direction is automatically a total idiot communist, and therefore nothing they say has any validity. I was once so dehydrated I passed out, so I know how that feels, but recently I was drinking a lot of water and felt like I did the time I fainted from dehydration. So obviously I was like wtf and I started researching and realized that drinking too much water can actually make you feel almost identically to dehydration, especially because it messes with your sodium levels. Like literally I ate popcorn and the salt made me feel normal again immediately. I didn’t need to spend thousands of dollars I just ate some cheap popcorn. Drinking enough water is important, but sadly a lot of people don’t realize you can go too far the other way. It’s easy to think “it’s just water how can it hurt to have more”, but in reality our bodies function on a specific balance. I’m not sure how much they pay attention to enagic news but I couldn’t find any info on any of enagics side hustles on their English website- I had to just click random things in Japanese on their Japanese website hahah

Japanese people being generally more healthy in terms of longevity has everything to do with their universal health care system and its heavy focus on preventative medicine. Interesting how no one in the US tends to mention that part.

@@DanielDeadweight they have heavily preserved or processed foods. But Japanese governments release rules, they will tax the company that worked any overweight / obese employees. That's why people there have to limit their diet, to be able to get jobs.

The biggest red flag is when the company that manufacturers the product won't promote the benefits on their website. The reason for that is because it is illegal to do so without scientific evidence and research to back it up.

Your sources are limited. The enagic brand is from Okinawa where the longest living humans are still living.
Why don’t you interview the medical doctors who are using the ionizers. The machines are lined with SILVER and is not overpriced for the functions of each machine has.

My understanding is that "kangen" water is authentic. It's basically all about water stagnation. In nature, good drinking water is distilled by rain, mineralized by running across the Earth's surface, filtered by porous rock, and carries an electromagnetic charge from the Earth's surface. The relationship between conductive mineral water, electricity, and magnets (gravity, lightning) is important to molecularity destagnate water.
Kangen water does this by passing purified mineral water across electromagnified platinum plates.
Because platinum plating is required, because it is an electrical device handling water regularly, the manufacturing costs of these machines is very high. Not only that but they require an ro system with a mineral cartridge system and require regular maintenance. The whole system is simply expensive.
Because of this Enagic has opted for a personal sales distribution approach and it all seems kind of pyramid schemey. There's a lot of pseudoscientific marketing spread by independent retailers.
However, behind the confusion, the devices work and are authentic.

Yea, it magically turns tap water impurities into minerals via one small carbon filter and electrification, sounds very authentic..

Furthermore, the electromagnetic effects on mineral water, which is conductive, is proven.
