When I was watching Joker for the third time with my dad I was smiling when Arthur shot those three fucks in the subway. That's the mastery of the film. It makes you enjoy murder.
He was an unreliable narrator, everything you see in the movie is a fantasy of a crazy man. That's why he tells the lady at the end, "you wouldn't get it."
@@ethancossell9674No, yes the movie is exaggerated a bit because it's all Arthur's story. But it's still based on what actually happened. The joke at the end followed by you wouldn't get it was referring to the fact that he just created batman. He thought Bruce and him were connected through being half brothers, however he learns they are not related at all, but by the end of the movie they are closer than ever because Bruce's parents death was the direct cause of Arthur's doing.
I think even though we as a society worship heroes, there is something so human and relatable about villains. they're often just misunderstood people that life was unkind to and they weren't strong enough to take it so they descended into darkness. I think we can all relate to that on some level and i just find the complexity of human nature and the fact that we can see ourselves like that in other people so intriguing.
Yup i watched joker and I don't like Batman anymore I realized hes just a billionaire privileged child who's protected by society while the other is a person hurt by society definitely more relatable.
@@xghostx3159 well I think Batman and his skills would be much more useful and interesting if his story and Gotham were both set in a post-apocalyptic world where Gotham was one of the last cities left standing and it was being run by tyrants and Batman and his bat family were resisting against them like a kind of Mad Max vigilante version of batman. And let's be honest this version of Joker and the DC Comics version Are vastly different 2019's Joker is severely mentally ill while DC Comics Joker is just an evil nihilist he's not insane not really anyway he just does what he does to prove a point that we should all just give up and give in to the darkness like he has. In any case I think Batman is still relatable but they've got to do more than just his parents dying in front of him as his origin story don't get me wrong parents being killed right in front of you when you're just a kid that's pretty traumatic but for Bruce Wayne to become Batman I feel like it has to be more than just his parents dying that's just my personal opinion I still like batman regardless
DiZero isn't even an actor, just a bitter angry old guy who got lucky, and plays himself in every role. Joaquin Phoenix is a very talented actor. He has put everything into this role. I hope he gets full recognition for his performance as the Joker.
@@thomsonmaclean2041 This is very very bad take. Both Joaquin Phoenix and Robert DeNiro is talented actors that deserve the praise they get. No need to be a bitch about either of them.

just stopping in to say this video still gets me through alot of rough days.....thank you for the inspiration you had to put this video together....makes me feel less like im alone
The biggest thing this film taught me is that bullying doesn't just happen when you are young, it happens when you become an adult too. Bullying never really goes away, people just find new ways to do it.
The Media thought this movie would inspire murderers. Instead, I've seen it inspire people to be better, to remember each other's humanity and recognize when someone is hurting. To acknowledge that someone becoming a danger can be because they've received nothing but abuse and neglect. Sometimes the darkest sides of life help build the brightest beacons. Don't build the Joker. Build brothers.
Nahh.. the movie showed to us the ugly, revolting side of reality that lives with us nowadays. This reality is disgustingly enough to turn people crazy and forget their humanity. no wonder lots of mass shootings, violence and crime are being done in broad daylight. If you fight well and follow the rules, they'll trash and cast you out. It's a dog eat dog world reality that we are living right now.

the way this movie makes me feel is absolutely indescribable. ive never in my life felt understood by people around me and i'd constantly wonder why why whyyyy do i have to be the way i am, and seeing him struggle so hard to fit into society breaks my heart so fucking bad because at the end of the day we don't fit, we just don't, they look down on people like us, but i felt understood, by him, and the fact that he turned into something so much bigger and realized the power he has, holy fucking shit this is definitely my favorite movie ever until the day i die
It's important to realize that the "power" Arthur has at the end is a farce. Violence isn't the solution to an imposing world that towers over us and makes us small. The solution is love and to recognize the humanity in people we see everyday. I also relate to the character of Arthur in some ways, so I get where you're coming from. Just know that you're a person and the world, as frightening and large as it may be, cannot ever change that.
@@zachwillits8451 imo the point of the movie was to show that we are becoming more and more like the kind of people that create a Joker. Selfish, apathetic, hostile, but maybe not as violent. The Report of the Week (a UA-camr) commented on this subject on one of his shortwave radio shows.
This is one of the best Joker edit of all time. This edit resume the entire movie in 5 minutes, and shows all the emotions of Arthur. Very impressive edit man !
Joaquin in this movie came out guns blazing. He knew people were gonna watch this amazing film. He fully showed his talent in this movie. I loved it. The Oscar he won was very deserving. He’s a brilliant actor.

I don’t think any movie is going to have an impact on me as much as Joker did. Such amazing acting, amazing story and amazing atmosphere. The movie was so good that I wish I could go back in time where I didn’t know anything about it and let it all happen again. To me, that’s when I know a movie is good.
“All I have, are negative thoughts. But you don’t listen anyway.” I never felt such emotion behind a line than this one. I think this line basically explained both the character and the point of the movie beautifully
@Ahad Rahman they are busy saving the innocents the ones who live on the street against those villains, it's not right at all. Revenge is no way, we have seen that haven't we, kratos for example, he was the villain the the gods, and he was to the rest of humanity, because getting his revenge, cost a world of people
@@j_islam7869 sometimes ppl takes it way too far. They punch u and being mean to u. Joker don’t want to get bullied so he bring something stronger, like a gun. When he had enough and too much sadness, he fights back.

"When a poor person or a layman dies on the sidewalk he is not considered like a rich person and when a rich person dies due to illness or is killed he is considered a hero even though he is not necessarily a hero" -by the joker-
“I don’t know why everyone is so rude, I don’t know why you are. I don’t want anything from you. Maybe just a little bit of warmth, maybe a hug, DAD! How about just a little bit of fucking decency?” That pain and desperation in his voice, especially when he asks “what is it with you people!?”, really resonates with me personally. I’ve imagined over and over again the conversation I’ve wanted to have with my father for years and this eerily captures that fantasy of mine. All the things I wish I could say and ask him, specifically all the why’s, all compiled into one outburst from a damn good actor. Fuck, this movie is brilliant. Joaquin truly earned that Oscar for this role.
This movie got me because of that specific line. Though my father is still with me today, he’s rarely there for me emotionally and it gets really stressful when I’m upset and he just blames me for whatever happens and expects me to suck it up. Love Joker, really do.
I am so proud of this movie. It really showed The Joker. After reading the comics for years I was truly amazed how well Joaquin played him. It was brilliant
@Janhavi Kumthekar Then you don't know anything about acting, sorry. And about "one great performance" then watch "Gladiator", "Silence of the lambs", "All about Eve", "No country for old man", "Sophie's Choice", "The Godfather", "Gone with the wind", just to name a few, only American, not even naming European films.

This is a heartbreaking look at mental illness and the struggles of those who feel isolated and misunderstood. It's a reminder to be kind and compassionate to everyone, because you never know what battles they're fighting.
What are you talking about? They are all Jokers. Look how they dressed, look how they act, no matter how happy and glamour in the outside, inside they're dead, twisted, destructive, angry, and hateful.
The insanity, the pain, the laugh, the moments, the euphoria; every damn human emotion amalgamated astonishingly in this single masterpiece - Joker. This movie is like trance, like meditation.
This movie really opened up what "the joker" actually is. I've been a DC fan for years and love the comic books and this movie changes how I see the storyline of everything. The joker wasn't laughing because he was happy in what he was doing, it was just how he cries. He does show emotion in his own way. That's what's so scary about the joker because what he is saying makes sense and he is still insane but he still has some of his regular emotions left from when he was a normal human.
Same... I really love Lotr and some other movies but this one hit me somewhere completely different than any other movie. I can't stop watching scenes of it for the past 3 days. This is the greatest movie I've ever watched. I was always in love with Joker as a character in comics, games (Arkham series) and in other movies as well but this one... this one was on a whole another level.
This is not a DC Villain where they try to blast Superman. This is not a DC Villain where they battle a league of heroes. This is a Villain that reflects reality. The Villain called Joker.
Maybe the reason batman does not want to kill joker its because of this guy As batman as a kid saw kindness and suffering in jokers eyes as he tries to fake a smile...

He genuinely laughs at the end and accepts the chaos around him

I think even though we as a society worship heroes, there is something so human and relatable about villains. they're often just misunderstood people that life was unkind to and they weren't strong enough to take it so they descended into darkness. I think we can all relate to that on some level and i just find the complexity of human nature and the fact that we can see ourselves like that in other people so intriguing.
I agree 100% with that too!
💯
Those type of people are called “anti-villain”
Villains who have noble reasons but does them in a agressive and violent way
That feeling you get when the villain makes more sense than the hero.
True because the hero is always no need to that me just doing my job and saving the city but most hero’s don’t understand
Same as in Seven. The villain was right about everything.
😬

I never thought about it that way... But your right
I cant thinks teens can understand it yea some can make crimes but it is not violence movie
Well-said!
Nahh.. the movie showed to us the ugly, revolting side of reality that lives with us nowadays. This reality is disgustingly enough to turn people crazy and forget their humanity. no wonder lots of mass shootings, violence and crime are being done in broad daylight.
If you fight well and follow the rules, they'll trash and cast you out. It's a dog eat dog world reality that we are living right now.

You are understood... more now than ever, stay who you are!
The quote that resonates with me is "Is it me, or is it getting crazier out there?"
