    Keith Jesperson’s daughter Melissa, was my neighbor for a few years in Eastern Washington . She is a lovely young woman who has used her sad and abusive childhood to help others who grew up in similar situations with a parent who ended up in prison for murder. I think she has helped a number of people. I see a comment down below vilifying her. It’s easy to vilify someone you don’t know personally, as I do.

    It’s very upsetting when a human hurts animals in any way, small or big. It should be considered as a crime, and the person should be punished equally by law. Ultimately, this type of law enforcement will prevent much worse crimes, and we will have a better society.

      @Jo Jo Hard to attribute with confidence, yes. In this case: (1) the subject's mother by all accounts was kind and nurturing, except for her inability to protect him from his father; (2) her doctor said he had never seen such grief as was displayed by subject when the mother died; (3) I've yet to find any accounts of violent behavior in any of Alois's other descendants. (4) Subject and his younger brother both had measles at the same time. Brother died of measles encephalitis. High probability subject also had it, a condition associated with loss of morals: after this illness, subject's grades deteriorated and he was found molesting another child. So I strongly suspect a genetic predisposition towards violence was not in play, here, though there is evidence of other genetic problems that subject almost certainly projected upon others, including his niece, with deadly results.

    • @Throatzillaaa
      @Throatzillaaa Рік тому

      I agree it's unsettling when you consider the correlation between serial killers and head injuries at a young age. Also, it seems like there's a connection between men who have had head injuries (or multiple concussions) and men who murder their romantic partners. It seems like it affects a person's impulse control, at the very least.

    Those sex workers were people, they deserve to have their names said. They mattered to people and had families and their own stories. The woman he claimed was his fiancé was someone he was involved with over a longer period of time but he never intended to marry her. She was just a convenience. There’s a really great podcast created by Jesperson’s daughter called “Happy Face”. If you’re interested in the story I highly recommend listening to it.

    When you mentioned the Happy Face killer at the end, something struck me like a Thunder Bolt (sic)! My best friend in High School was this chubby happy faced guy. One day he came upon an improbably large amount of money. He spent tons of money and we went to all kinds of celebrity parties and clubs and picked up tons of girls. Later, I found out that he stole it and after several other crimes, he did go to jail. After he was released. He moved to Germany and got married there. I also had a hot girlfriend. And I found out that she was a thief, etc. Happy guys and playful girls look super innocent and can get away with lots of crimes. I would guess, Americans tend to irrationally trust happy friendly people. But I've noticed that immigrants are often very wary of friendly Americans. And frankly, I don't blame them.

    Some of these stories have the most bizarre and unexpected twists in them, like this one. I only started paying any interest in crime stories within the last 6 months or so and I have genuinely not heard of 99% of the stories thus far covered, except the Gabby Petito situation. So when I hear these stories, the majority of them are completely unknown to me, even though a lot of them if not most of them are nationally known. So, as Dr Grande describes how they unfolded, I am a blank slate to them and a twist that a lot of people know about is news to me. I find it all rather interesting. But I wonder if other people who watch these ever feel like I do, that watching them may become something that’s known to law enforcement and they will have a record of what you viewed? I’m probably being super paranoid and it’s ridiculous to even think about, but part of me does think that it is stored somewhere. Like in the endless vaults of google

      Serial killers target people who they can easily victimize. Women most of the time fall into this category. Serial killers aren't gangsters who kill their equals. Whenever they finally end up in prison, they aren't respected by the perceived "real" gangsters.

Smart enough to decipher certain clues that fit the facts. However it seems to me that she wasted a God given talent. Weird stuff, Laverne needed a hobby and a back bone to leave that man. Another lesson to be learned is never be honest to the point of strangulation. It's a very unusual case here, but most of these people could have avoided this fate by NOT talking to this man. It's a shame someone can kill so many before ever getting caught. Great video DR,G

    Mr. Jesperson's claims of 8 days of insanity has some merit.
    It seems as though he did not plan the murders but they were a result of peak emotions.
    It's likely he felt extremely powerless when being admonished or pressured.
    The feelings of fear must have been very intense and his desire to regain power resulted in extreme actions.
    Temporary insanity may be the proper description.
    He seems to have regret for his henious actions.
    With that said, he should remain incarcerated for life.

    If a killer is random and picks, shall we say less than perfect targets, and is somewhat careful and lucky no law enforcement can follow that kind of trail. But often if the signs of trouble are recognized early on from all the multitude of bad acts some form of deterance can circumvent the worse crimes and save society from this kind of killing spree.
