You know people say this and I didn't believe it until this year. My friend was dating a guy who distanced her from her friends and family, I am the only one who persisted. Now I haven't seen her since their wedding in mid March, her calls with me are brief and far between. I still can't believe it's happening. The scary part is she didn't notice how distant she had become to her family and friends. It's like she's blind. I don't think I would want love like this.
it's so common for the "vulnerable" so called, to be blamed for what happens in a relationship with the narc abuser, as if his toxic behaviors are excused because SHE could always leave, say no, or whatever......Why can't anyone call out a bad person when it's in plain sight? this is especially true when it's a woman victim, such as victim blaming. Narc/psychopathy is never excusable! That said, we need to build up our little girls so that they aren't vulnerable to these predators.
It also seems like her mother wasn’t helpful, either. When a child gains fame, it’s the parents’ responsibility to protect their child, not ride on their coat tails. Some other examples of this are Lindsay Lohen.and Britney Spears.
Right? And it's even more bizarre that Brittany Murphy's mother lived with Simon, after Brittany passed. Have you seen the formal portrait photos Simon and her mother had taken together? They look like a loving couple.
Her eyes had such a deep and beautiful softness and innocence to them. It was something I couldn’t stop fixating on the entire documentary. What a sweet little human being she was. So tragic
After Brittany Murphy provided a written statement in support of Julia Davis, she was targeted by the DHS/ICE. This included helicopter surveillance, wiretaps, an arrest in the middle of the night and an unsuccessful attempt to deport Brittany’s fiancée Simon Monjack, whom she later married.
Ladies. When you are in the exciting beginnings of a new relationship, it's easy to over look warning signs, write them off as nothing much to worry about. Please, the FIRST TIME you feel manipulated or gas lit, walk out. Right then. Cut him off. This usually happens about three months into the relationship, if it's going to happen. You've been through the "love bombing" phase, next comes the testing of the boundaries - how will you react to these little digs that are now popping up from him. The only way to react is to walk, because that shit will only get worse. I promise you. And you are better than that, you deserve better than that. Walk. Away. First. Time.

RIP beautiful Brittany, you are missed. ❤️🌻That was her misfortune to run into this manipulative narcissist. She deserved way better. 💜
I was so sad when she passed. She was BRILLIANT in Don’t Say A Word. She mimicked the symptoms of many psychiatric patients so that she could stay hidden and protected in a psych ward from the men that killed her father. Her acting blew me away.
I had heard that Brittany was extremely immature in a "child like" way. I knew someone that worked for her during "Uptown Girls" a movie she did a long time ago. She was described as a "woman child" her mother took care of her in the way a mother would take care of a young child. Brittany and her mom's relationship was always described as strange and at times uncomfortable. I'm not surprised she ended up with a guy like this. This story is so sad, unfortunately it seems brittany had been being manipulated for much of her life, by her mom then her husband!
Interesting, ti am just speculating the mom had a weird jealousy maybe of Britney? Again please all know I am just speculating. (Must be so hard for the families of those who are high profile and pass tragically with people like me making assumptions) So I want to reiterate this is just a thought I had.

My mother was the same as Simon. My father, a loving brillant giving man was jerked around by her most of his life. He believed a marriage is life long. Every member of my father's family tried to get him out of the marriage. A destructive narcistic person is no joking matter. They feel absolutely nothing for the people they are using. They feel no "love" except for themselves. They know how to keep their victims and their monies close. >>>>>>thank you for your presentation
Her mother let her down, she neglected her by not getting Britney to hospital in time. Whatever about Monjack, her mother was a real piece of work. She didn’t do anything to save Monjack either. Inheritance maybe?
she could have gone to the hospital herself. why would it be up to her mom to decide whether or not she needed to go to a hospital? she'd been telling everybody it was cramps.
bad shit hppns esp if youre using but that doesnt automatically take away ppls independant adult decisions they almost always know of consequences existing. pointing finger and trying to pin bad decisions on additional ppl doesnt do anything but make things worse.
I just watched the documentary on HBO and apparently "mom" didn't get a penny. All of the "gems" and jewelry he bought for her were fake...they owed so many bills, and he had gone through her $3,000,000 in 3 years! He messed up her movie deals, and she wasn't getting many offers except horror films, like most starlets after age 30. When will the bleached blondes realize they are being used? It never ends well...
The fact that the house the three of them were living in was full of black mold, and they were hoarders, so that the living areas were unuseable, bothers me a lot. Really dysfunctional...and why no housekeeping staff to keep things in order?
Brittany’s death has always stuck with me. She was not your typical Hollywood star who does a few movies and then their career fizzles out. She had true talent. I never understood what she saw in Simon. Now, through Dr. Grande’s analysis, I have a better understanding. Shame on her mother for not recognizing Simon's manipulative ways and properly watching out for her daughter's best interests. Had Brittany become aware of Simon’s true nature and then divorced him, I believe she would still be alive today and a huge, in-demand actor.
You can't always see these in ppl, it can be rly hard to accept it even if you have a feeling that they r destroying ppl around them via manipulations. Ppl should be educated on symptoms
It's not really fair to judge the mother for falling for Simon's act when her daughter clearly did. Manipulators are skilled at fooling people, and motherhood isn't a panacea against that necessarily, even when they're manipulating your daughter. I'm sure he had the wool pulled over her eyes, too. Look at the otherwise intelligent people who end up in cults.
I found it strange how Brittany died...after Brittany dies her mom was all over Simon...then Simon dies a few months later...Sharon then was devastated that the jewelry Simon bought Brittany wasn't worth anything.
Before her father died he was fighting hard to find out the truth. He believed the mother had something to do with it. I don’t know why people covering this story now are leaving this out. People need to go back and do more research. Simon also died the same way Brittany did.
@@cecee3480 Yes, very suspicious. Sharon tried to pass it off as Brittany's Dad never cared. I tried to add the articles links, but they wouldn't go through. Either YT or Dr. Grande wouldn't allow the links.
@@Lara-tm5nz Lara, I tried adding the links. I will explain, after Simon died, Sharon took the jewelry in & found out it was fake. She then said well if this is fake there must not be any stocks, bonds or real estate either. She then auctioned off Brittany's clothes & passport.
Wow, I didn’t know anything about Simon Monjack when this news hit, but he did come off strange, and then when he died, it did seem that the mold story fit, but I also felt something off about Brittany’s mother. Such a shame about Brittany: she was an endearing actress.
Not sure what you're referring to? Her mother made a 911 call; her father was not there. And I don't think it was sad at all. The mother sounded shrill and crazy. There is something really wrong with her, in my opinion.
I knew her since _Clueless_ and _8 Mile_ and hence it was really tragic to see such a sweet actress that she passed away at a very young age. May she rest in peace and thank you for remembering us on this special case, dear Dr. Grande❣👏❤
She was very young with Reese Witherspoon in an old movie called Freeway, a dark urban version of Little Red Riding hood. Britney had a small part but killed it! She let the crazy shine through and was impressive and memorable for having such a small part.
@@stevetaylor3681 Yes, she had something authentic and heartwarming kind which I can't describe and can't find in other actresses. What a pity! Rest in peace, dear Brittany❣💞
Her death haunts me. She was so young and beautiful. She just had that special twinkle in her that cannot be defined. Simon was not the right person for her and this death was so preventable. Very heart breaking for those of us who loved her.
People have said that she would stay for hours signing autographs for absolutely every single person who wanted one. She was humble and genuinely kind.
She shows up often in my life. It makes me sad every time. She played relatable characters and got pulled apart by the paparazzi. Then, pulled apart by individuals.
It's a story that gets told over and over again with different subjects each time. The most famous being Marilyn Monroe. Each one somewhat different of course, but generally the same story of people (women often) chasing after an ideal that doesn't exist and self-medicating in one way or another to ease the stress and often getting into relationships that feed the problem.
Women mostly?? Yeah cuz there’s not a fuck ton of men who go off the deep end with booze drugs prostitutes and murder, right? Lol. And by the way- many of those women u think got that way by “chasing after an ideal & self medicating” are actually beautiful talented women who were systematically abused by numerous men from a very early age & what you are judging them for are TRAUMA RESPONSES.
I'm really struck by the fact that Simon was so unrealistic in his claims and wouldn't recognize that. That's a whole other level of narcissism, in this case paired with poor judgement.
I wouldve loved to hear more about Brittany's mother. She played such a huge roll in Brittany's life, both supporting and benefitting. Also, as stated, had a very unusual relationship with Simon after Brittanys death. She was also the person who made the 911 calls, and was there with both of their deaths. A bit suspicious, in my opinion.
I totally agree. The mom seemed to swoop right in on her daughter's husband after Brittany died. I also think it's so odd they died with the mom there. I wonder why she wasn't looked into further.
Brittany's autopsy revealed her pneumonia was off the charts -- severe. She had been displaying symptoms for several weeks, then there was her severe anemia. Now, Sharon Murphy had been living under the same roof as her daughter and wackadoo son-in-law. How could Brittany hide being dangerously ill during that time and her own mother, who proclaimed total devotion to Brittany, drop the ball completely? How don't you have any inkling something is seriously amiss with your "soulmate" (not too healthy IMO, for a mother/daughter relationship)? Brittany's lungs drowned, literally. Sharon was deluded by her own design..the behavior with Monjack after Brittany's death spoke its own bizarre volumes.
The mother should have been investigated Maybe she poisoned them both to get her daughters money. And he had to go too being married to Brittany. Although article said mother was beneficiary....I was really saddened by her death. Didnt know about the husbands behaviors. When you have money the vultures circle. And why did no one notice 90 pill bottles omg! Guess because he isolated her. She wouldn't heed coworkers/friends advice because hubby brainwashed her. Maybe she was desperate for a companion. I know how those narcissists operate. Charming and loving to snare you then wham! The emotional, financial or physical abuse begins. I deal with this now I believe and its devastating! I think Brittany would have reached the top like she wanted if not for him. She was a great actress already! She had that special something! The best always leave too soon!
I find it disgusting that the industry pressures women to lose weight as it is, let alone someone with the body structure of Brittany Murphy. She appeared to be a very thin person as it is naturally. It's never good enough, it drives people into the clutches of serious life long disorders.
They do it to both sexes, although I do believe women get it worse. All of these male actors do steroids and make normal men feel inadequate. The worst part is that the male celebs lie about the roids which makes women think that they are just superior genetically. Men like Jonah hill aren’t getting leading man rolls. It’s guys like Chris Hemsworth that are sauced up. Like I said I do think that women deal with more objectification, but it’s not just women.
Never forget that NOBODY can drive anyone to disorder if that person has a HEALTHY strong sense of self understanding, self respect, self confidence and strong understanding of, or become educated about, how to not fall for manipulation by others. B seems, sadly, to be lacking in these areas - which I find VERY strange since her mom w stayed near always & THAT is why I feel her mom was evil and manipulated B into being emotionally and physically ill and weak so that her mom could inherit B's money after B and S died after she (the mom!) slowly poisoned them (in a sneaky way that make S looks suspicious not herself).
I think a bigger problem was Brittany's mother. What kind of "mother" allows her child to be drugged, manipulated, live in filth, hoarding...while living WITH HER! As mothers AND fathers, our job is to try to protect our children...regardless if they are children or adults. Brittany was an adult, with an inability to take care of herself. She relied on others to care for her. No parent should be blamed if they tried to help their troubled children...especially if they tried and failed to help their child. In this situation, Mom lived with her and still allowed her to be abused and probably did some of that herself. That is a tragedy.
@@shrapnel77 Yep. They all were. I'm surprised she is still breathing...when Brittany and her husband aren't. I'm a bit surprised that hubby and her mother were not investigated for Brittany's state of non-health, and drug abuse. It is sad and tragic...and never had to happen. Even though Brittany was an "adult"...she wasn't able to make good decisions and needed better support around her than what she got.
I feel so horrible for her father, he has never made peace with her death. I mean how could you?? The mother refuses to allow him to exhume Brittany’s body for further testing. 😡😡😡
According to her documentary, he abandoned her and her mom when she was a child and only reappeared in her life after she became a star. If that's true I don't blame the mom
@@ED80s I saw that one but if you listen to Brittany’s own words she adored him. He was involved with the mafia when Brittany was young, he always financially supported them but he had to move a certain way. It’s like how people never saw John Gotti just riding around with his little kids in the car and no security. From the ones I have watched the mother was very bitter that he chose that life (the streets, trouble, nightlife w/women, etc) over staying at home with them, and I get it. However, she knew exactly who he was and what he did when she married him and back then she loved it. He showed pictures of him at all of Brittany’s events throughout her whole life so he wasn’t too far away.
Interesting, dr. Grande. But I think that Simon wasn't necessary the only narcissist in Brittany's life. Her mother played a huge role and even LIVED WITH THE MARRIED COUPLE. I've also read that their death might happen because of toxic mold in their house, but I don't believe that since the much older mother was totally fine (even in the SAME BED!!!). This is why I have my own, non proved speculations. Both deaths happened in very similar manner and both times Brittany's mother was there. The mother also does not allow to exhume her body for aditional testing. The only beneficiary of the wealth was also her... Well idk. There is much much more to this case in my honest opinion. Poor Brittany. I liked her so much. But now I think she never had a chance. :(
Whether there was mold or not, I believe her mother is just as toxic as her husband was. I believe they hatched a plan against Brtt. And then when she had passed away, the mom did it to Simon as well. RIP beautiful Britt. 🌹🤍🕊🤍🌹
I couldn't figure out why she was with him. Now I see why thanks to this analysis. She was a rarity in Hollywood. Sweet, silly and in my opinion way more beautiful than most of the "leading ladies". I was shocked when I heard she had passed. Simon and probably her mother as well were her demise. I remember thinking "Oh no, anyone but her...."
Great video. I believe fame doesn’t improve insecurities but amplifies them. The more famous you are, the more you attract the grifters because the average good person likely doesn’t have the confidence to believe they stand a chance. Thank you.
I think Monjack and her Mother should have gotten Brittany to the hospital earlier, but don’t know if inaction was criminal. Monjack had a weird affect and came off as creepy in the HBO show.
People tend to not expect the worst to happen, even when it's totally obvious when looking back on the event. Additionally, we freak out in stressful situations and don't always make the best choices (eg: putting Brittany under cold water instead of beginning CPR immediately upon discovering her body). This is why they say "hindsight is 20/20."
Simon Monjack had a history of shady dealings in his past. And one of the main reasons I believe he got involved with Brittany was because of her social status and to exploit her for his own personal means. I also don't believe that he died the same way as Brittany did but I'm convinced that he took his own life.
Brittany had money as well as status. A perfect cocktail for a con man. But if Simon had committed suicide, how was that not documented as cause of death?
It’s extremely common in cases of narcissistic abuse for the victim’s health to plummet to dangerous levels. Extremely common for people who already have health conditions to be targeted by these predators.
There seems to be plenty of offensive and hate comments in the comment section. Hopefully, Simon Monjack’s life and death is to be mourned and appreciated at the same level as Brittany Murphy’s life and death. Simon Monjack has his story you know and most people seem to overlooked on that. Rest in peace Simon Monjack Rest in peace Brittany Murphy
I found the documentary scenes of Simon’s mother and brother were very interesting. Mama was in total denial about her sociopath son. Brother seemed to get it, but he wouldn’t burst Mama’s delusional bubble.
Great topic. So sad and tragic. I don't like that creepy Simon Monjack and never trusted him! 😡 There was some talk about toxic mold in the house. Anyone else know anything about this? Thanks Dr. G💜🌵
Agreed. He was a mature manipulator. His history of lawsuits and failed relationships prepared him in a way that her history did not. Unfortunately, their union annihilated them both. Acid, meet Base.
Dr Grande .. I think 🤔 you make a very good point with narcissism. In childhood we learn the word no. Applying that knowledge is so important against any kind of narcissist. It can literally save someone’s life! Be well 🤔❤️🇺🇸
I don't know how I stumbled on your channel, but I'm glad I did. Been checking it out for a month or so. Great content. It's interesting how many of her roles seem to mirror her personality. Specifically her characters in KOTH, Clueless, Sin City, and Girl Interrupted share a naivety and vulnerability to manipulation. Truly a tragic tale...
Here I go again, listening to another one of Dr Grandes interesting analysis vids. Informative and a fantastic way to fall asleep to after a 12 hr shift at work. Thanks again Doc! 😁
I always thought that Simon was a super creepy guy, but it turns out that he was even worse than I initially thought. It's just a shame that, instead of getting help for his issues, Simon chose to prey on a vulnerable young woman.
insightful, on not only poor Brittany's death, but the whole system that feeds off of the person's insecurities. Probably 100% correct, obviously logical and well researched, and also compassionate.
Uptown girls was her best movie. I really suggest re-watching it, you see a lot of her real sadness come through the screen of what is supposed to be a whimsical kids movie.
It is so amazing how Dr. G can always think about the bad guys history that made them who they are. I wonder what Simon's story was. Even Charles Manson was a innocent baby in his beginning. Thanks Dr. Grande.❤❤❤
And yet being 115 pounds at her height is considered a healthy weight. Being that weight while being healthy is one thing, losing weight you don't need to is dangerous. Poor girl 😢
I saw in a documentary or read about her purchasing a house from Brittany Spears. They said that some kind of poison had been found in the house, and that Brittany regretted buying the property and never liked returning home. The recent news about the life of Brittany Spears causes me to wonder if there was something strange going on in that house before B. Murphy moved in. After all, the house was demolished and remains to be an empty lot.
Your compassion for everyone involved, even Simon Monjack, only makes me admire your insight more. I was a fan of hers and thought her death was terribly tragic, and when he died not long after, I couldn't help but think what a tragic story the whole relationship was for everyone involved, including her mother.
Such a beautiful young woman, she seemed so down to earth as well. I just subscribed to your channel a few months ago, and have been really enjoying your thoughtful insight. I truly look forward to listening to your videos on my commute to work. Keep up the great content!!
She was so talented. Narcissistic personality disorder looks like a cancer, kills people slowly but surely. Her soul was killed long time ago before her body gave up 😔. As usual, thanks for your analysis 🙏🏽
Wow…this is the most insightful theory of Brittany Murphy’s tragic death have ever heard. Clueless was everything back in the day & appears to have had a revival in popularity. So wish Brittany was here to see how much today’s youth have embraced this movie she played a central part in 💔
Listening to the 911 call from her mother was the most frustrating thing! Repeatedly the operator tried to instruct her on how to perform CPR and she was NOT listening, just panicking and yelling. I understand the shock but until the paramedics get there, you don't know if she could be saved. Ugh, just sad all around.
Also this is really suspect as Simon and her mom reported sleeping together to get over the grief. Pretty sure they helped her die...and I can tell you having lost 140 pounds in a year going from 310 to 170 that losing that much weight makes you feel incredibly fragile both emotionally and physically...
Dr. Grande, I look forward to your posts every day. I really appreciated your approach to this case. Your analysis of this case and personality factor overview of Brittany and Simon was spot on. As always, you are thorough, objective and kind. Thank you for always working so hard and sharing your skills with the rest of us! 🙏
I ve watched s doc about her death. She didn't feel well for several weeks but her mother advised her not to seek medical help cause of the paparazzi. The condition of the house, belonged to Britney Spears,"helped" development of diseases in the lungs, sorry my English are not perfect.
I would include Brittany's mother in this analysis. There are several photos online where she is posing with her son-in-law after her daughter died, and those photos are really weird. The body-langage indicates a romantic link between the two.
Yes the mother was a suspect when the father came forward saying he believed Brittany was poisoned and he wanted tests run on her. It makes sense too. She probably took out Simon the same way considering the type of guy he was. They looked like they developed a relationship and I doubt he’s the type to be faithful.
As unsavory as it seems for most of us for her to be that close to him, if he was really a master manipulator, he probably had Sharon under his spell, too.
It was exciting to see her make a comeback after clueless. I didn’t relize it was her from the movies because she blossomed and looked so beautiful. RIP Britney
Perfect analysis! Thank you for taking a very complex puzzle of NPD, drug use and the same deaths and putting it all together. Tragic loss of an amazing actress.
No-one collects Vermeer paintings. There are very few of them, they are legendary, and more or less priceless. You might as well say you collect paintings by Da Vinci.
What a creep. I was in a relationship where he faked having cancer to gain more control over me among other things. Thank God, I was able to end this toxic relationship without too much drama. Hearing this about Simon really hit a raw nerve for me. What a sad tragedy.
It feels so sad about her death. I think many of us could see there were something behind that fun loving smile and personality. With the increase of success she had prior to her death i almost thought that she was in a rather good place in her life. But alas another life that ended too soon. Thanks Grande and rest in peace Brittany.
The sad thing is, we have many many examples of people who were successful, beautiful, rich,... does not equal happiness; does not equal happy ending. Life comes to all of us.
U r so right Dr. Grande - We can Not underestimate the power, maliciousness and cunning of narcissistic predators! Unless u have known one u will not understand how easy it is to be taken in by them. Even when u know what to look for it can take awhile and a few bad experiences to realize ur in the presence of yet another one!

Narcissists are aware of their behavior and know exactly what they are doing. They are master manipulators and can turn it off and on like a switch to their benefit.
Your analysis is on point. I started the video without any preconceived ideas (I barely remembered previously hearing the exact circumstances surrounding Brittany’s death), but the more I heard you explain Simon and his influence on her life, the more sad and disgusted I felt. I’m pretty sure he didn’t mean to be who he was, and it’s unlikely she recognized how far from healthy the relationship was. I wish she had taken a different path! Their deaths seem so unnecessary and preventable.
Great assessment. I had heard that he wouldn't let her go anywhere without him and wouldn't let her see doctors. Obviously, someone was seeing doctors. Brittany had a short tragic life. I always liked her and I'm sad for the loss. RIP Brittany. 🥺

@@jenniferlane9000 For real.
Brittany was an amazing actress with incredible range, she played comedic and dramatic roles so well.
I will always remember her performance in Girl, Interrupted.
“Daddy got me a halfway house with a eat in chicken” I loved her in that movie 😂
Yeeessss! Great acting in that movie. Brittney was amazing!
The scene where she ends her own life GUTS me every single time I watch that movie! She played the hell out of that role and she was incredible!
She was so good in that movie. I fell in love with her.
That was such a sad movie but it's message was really so important.
Those were my thoughts exactly!!! Mommy knows more than she claims.
she could have gone to the hospital herself. why would it be up to her mom to decide whether or not she needed to go to a hospital? she'd been telling everybody it was cramps.
bad shit hppns esp if youre using but that doesnt automatically take away ppls independant adult decisions they almost always know of consequences existing. pointing finger and trying to pin bad decisions on additional ppl doesnt do anything but make things worse.
Her mother was the sole beneficiary of her entire Will… that’s sus…
The fact that the house the three of them were living in was full of black mold, and they were hoarders, so that the living areas were unuseable, bothers me a lot. Really dysfunctional...and why no housekeeping staff to keep things in order?
Good question ⁉️
"Due to Brittany's wealth, and Simon's criminal knowledge" says it all to me.
Definitely dont look into her testimony in a government trial
I don't know of a more contemptible personality outside the realm of serial killers. He is, quite simply, a shit smear on the boot of society.
BUT THE MOTHERS LIVED IN THE 🏡 WITH THEM
Brittany was broke
Look at the otherwise intelligent people who end up in cults.
most narcissists can find each other and like each other
I found it strange how Brittany died...after Brittany dies her mom was all over Simon...then Simon dies a few months later...Sharon then was devastated that the jewelry Simon bought Brittany wasn't worth anything.
Wtf? She was devastated about the jewelry?
Totally bizarre and clearly inappropriate for Simon and the mom.
Wow, I can’t believe he had two kids that she didn’t know anything about
Unless Sharon Murphy said this at some point, how do we know that Brit didn't know about them.

This was one the saddest 911 calls I've heard, especially when her parents were there. Thank you Dr. Grande for your hard work.
Very hard work. To all the behind the scenes helpers of the channel, you faceless wonderful bastards. This channel is gold.
Her mother was there, and she was also on Larry King live admitting to sharing a bed with her son on law... weirdo!
I actually get an entirely different vibe from this Mother. It feels...off, somehow.
Not sure what you're referring to? Her mother made a 911 call; her father was not there. And I don't think it was sad at all. The mother sounded shrill and crazy. There is something really wrong with her, in my opinion.
@@catchtwenty22 His cacti are the helpers. They come alive after hours and rearrange themselves.

Always loved Britney Murphy ....RIP
Those photos of Brittneys Mom and Simon looked like couples photos...super creepy!
I was always such a fan of hers. She was such a talent and seemed to be such a genuine person.
She was just getting started and had a bright future in front of her❤️
Me too 😞
Me too, I miss her so much 💔
People have said that she would stay for hours signing autographs for absolutely every single person who wanted one.
Almost makes you wonder if theres some sort of…conspiracy.
Exactly
This seems like a toxic relationship tragedy, Marilyn’s seems like a possible murder
Brittany Murphy was one of my favorite actresses! Thank you for your insight.
I think she's one of the absolute cutest young ladies I'd ever seen. Her passing was saddening.
I'm really struck by the fact that Simon was so unrealistic in his claims and wouldn't recognize that. That's a whole other level of narcissism, in this case paired with poor judgement.
Now, this is one weird story, even for Hollywood.
Or else perhaps better put: Now, this is one weird story, exactly worthy of Hollywood. (!)

She lived in the house.
I suggest watching the HBO documentary. I'd leave the mother alone.
@@tessaducek5601 Wait she lived in the same house but didn't "die of mold"? Strange.
Brittany was great in _Spun._
Very pretty, as well.
It was shocking when she passed, essentially with her husband going not long afterward.
Love that movie! She was great in that!
The mother should have been investigated
Maybe she poisoned them both to get her daughters money.
Meanwhile the same celebrities telling us that being massively overweight isn't unhealthy..
She absolutely did not to lose weight. She was tiny. I hate body shaming, it can be lethal.
But it’s ok they do it to men?
Her mother was most likely a drug abuser herself.
Because her "Mother was an addict too"...
Useless

No mold. Tests were done. No mold.
Whether there was mold or not, I believe her mother is just as toxic as her husband was. I believe they hatched a plan against Brtt. And then when she had passed away, the mom did it to Simon as well.
RIP beautiful Britt. 🌹🤍🕊🤍🌹
Her mother “disappeared” after all this and is now living under an assumed identity. So wild.
Thank you.
The cacti arrangement in this video is soothing to my senses.
Oh, I just noticed that!
I totally agree, little touches like that really matter.
Spot on. It goes to show no measure of success and fortune can protect one from these narcissists, in fact that can make one more of a target.

I can't believe her mom was there and didn't call 911. That just boggles my mind.
She did, but not soon enough.
I like that you mentioned the human aspect of Narcissism! Thanks Dr. G
I think Monjack and her Mother should have gotten Brittany to the hospital earlier, but don’t know if inaction was criminal. Monjack had a weird affect and came off as creepy in the HBO show.
People tend to not expect the worst to happen, even when it's totally obvious when looking back on the event.
Additionally, we freak out in stressful situations and don't always make the best choices
(eg: putting Brittany under cold water instead of beginning CPR immediately upon discovering her body).
This is why they say "hindsight is 20/20."
Didn't he die in similar situation? The mother was there again.
I find your comment creepy
@CRAM MARC this is terrifying
Sounds like H & MM… is Meghan doing the same to “H?”
There seems to be plenty of offensive and hate comments in the comment section. Hopefully, Simon Monjack’s life and death is to be mourned and appreciated at the same level as Brittany Murphy’s life and death. Simon Monjack has his story you know and most people seem to overlooked on that.
Rest in peace Simon Monjack

From what I'm hearing from Dr Grande it seems that the comments are well deserved. Have you listened to this video at all?
She was my teenage crush and I remember her like an angel with human face.
I found the documentary scenes of Simon’s mother and brother were very interesting. Mama was in total denial about her sociopath son. Brother seemed to get it, but he wouldn’t burst Mama’s delusional bubble.

Uptown girls was her best movie. I really suggest re-watching it, you see a lot of her real sadness come through the screen of what is supposed to be a whimsical kids movie.
I loved her in everything, including the Disney show, "the Torklesons"

She did have significant weight loss after Girl Interrupted.
She didn’t need to lose weight 😢
That's what I thought too. In fact, maybe a few pounds added would have been advisable. It's never a good idea to starve yourself.
Thank you for addressing these two. The media did not look at their back story. You’re analysis is very good.
Making people more aware of narcissism and the warning signs is very important, ty Dr Grande for covering these cases.
She is missed. Her sweet nature was so easy to see. If you haven’t seen it watch the film “Ramen Girl”. She’s glowing in that film.
@Traine Ryder I adored her in that movie and many people have never seen it
Wow…this is the most insightful theory of Brittany Murphy’s tragic death have ever heard. Clueless was everything back in the day & appears to have had a revival in popularity. So wish Brittany was here to see how much today’s youth have embraced this movie she played a central part in 💔
What a weird case! Tank you for the analysis, your videos are always interesting and entertaining.
That is absolutely disgusting if it's true.
Dr. Grande, I look forward to your posts every day. I really appreciated your approach to this case. Your analysis of this case and personality factor overview of Brittany and Simon was spot on.

As usual superb work Doctor G!
Narcissists are aware of their behavior and know exactly what they are doing. They are master manipulators and can turn it off and on like a switch to their benefit.
This analysis was excellent. Absolutely excellent.
