    The Minnesota Timberwolves are taking the NBA by storm and are currently the best team in the Western Conference. Anthony Edwards has taken the superstar leap, Karl Anthony Towns is finding his role as a star big man, while the Timberwolves trade for Rudy Gobert a couple years ago is proving to be a huge win for the team. The Minnesota Timberwolves have been losing for too long since Kevin Garnett was traded but now, NBA highlights are full of Anthony Edwards, KAT, and Gobert plays. But are the Timberwolves legitimate NBA championship contenders in a deep West with the Denver Nuggets, OKC Thunder, Dallas Mavericks?
    Chris Finch has done a great job of utilizing the size and length of this TImberwolves team. Minnesota currently leads the NBA in defensive rating with the help of their core players such as Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, and Kyle Anderson. But their main core of Towns, Gobert, and Anthony Edwards has been looking like a real NBA big three so far. Rudy Gobert in particular has been looking like an energized force on both ends of the floor for Minnesota. In this video, let’s look into how the Rudy Gobert trade went from being an NBA disaster to a huge win for the Timberwolves franchise.

      Conley solidifies the team.
      He's very vocal & had past experience with Rudy. D-Lo rarely passed to Rudy (the lob is there 2-3 times a half) & he also was a defensive liability + all his stupid turnovers...

    This team is huge and they play so fast... gobert and KAT are 7', jaden and naz are 6'9", KA is right up there as well. but the hustle they have all shown is pretty amazing for their size. They simply suffocate teams. What I've noticed is that they seem to start off the games a little slower, then they come out of the half fast and their defense really wears teams out. If they can pick up the offense a bit and start games a little stronger, they will be damn near unstoppable. You nailed it when you said that they have the highest ceiling, bc as good as they have played on defense, there's still so much more they can do on offense. If they put it all together, they will be putting the entire league on notice.

      Yeah, I notice the Timberwolves start off slow, but they choke the opposing offenses during the 2nd half. They're like Muhamed Ali, tire out the opponent then strike hard and don't stop.

    National pundits in general have a had time talking positive about any teams not on the East or West Coast. I watch a lot of NBA coverage and it’s always the same, Boston, New York and Miami, Los Angeles Lakers, Clippers and Warriors and then they make the obligatory references to Denver and Milwaukee because they have recently won NBA titles. National pundits, didn’t get that KAT moving to the 4 position is really his more natural position as a defender and offensive player. Gobert allowed the Wolves to have three All Stars - Gobert, KAT and Ant on the floor last year which started out rockier a) Because KAT was injured the majority of the season and b) Mike Conley is a dramatic upgrade at point guard of D’Angelo Russell to ensure the entire offense thrives and Conley is a far better defender. National pundits are just not even paying attention to the Wolves or the nuances of the moves made, they are more up to date on Keeping up with the Kardashians than any NBA team in the middle of the country.

    Let's be honest, no offense to Pat Bev, Jarred Vanderbilt, & Malik Beasley, but they are expendable. Hence why the Jazz shedded them for more assets.
    The picks do matter, but the Timberwolves didn't straight give up a player of the caliber of SGA, Lauri Markkanen, or Mikal Bridges in the Gobert trade and yet that's the trade people think is the worst.

    • @mitchelltolander146
      @mitchelltolander146 9 місяців тому

      Couldn’t agree more, the players they sent out weren’t going to make this team as good as they are now.
      As for the picks, I guess it’s up to the Wolves. If they become a powerhouse for the next few years, those late first rounders aren’t worth much. Connelly also has done well drafting in the second round (drafted Jokic in Denver) so if he’s able to make the most of the second rounders they have, it would shape up to be a very smart trade

    Born and raised in MN and I still think it will end up being a disaster. If the Herschel Walker trade didnt teach any MN GM a lesson, nothing will. Maybe 2 first rounders, not 4 and 4 players for 1 person is absolutely stupid and will risk future years. Look whats happening to the Wild due to the Parise/Suter years. Sure, it wasnt because of a trade but because of the lack of cap they are screwed. To trade that much draft stock for 1-3 years of possible playoffs is just not worth it. If they win a championship, it could be worth it. But if we bomb this year, all down hill.

      Wolves have three of the best parameter defenders in McDaniels Edwards and Walker harder to hit threes unless you’re Steff taking 36 footers They are deep. They can insert there second team and lead actually increases with going on. Beating mavericks and pacers by 20 points in consecutive games. Remember they are getting use to playing with one another they not his thier stricter. That’s scary part they are progressively getting better week by week. This would be a great game of the week for everyone but national media Wolves vs OKC Thectwo best teams in west.💥 you know you are in a strong conference when your ninth seeded team has same record as eastern conferences fifth seed.
