I feel like a part of Towns perhaps allowed Anthony Edwards big ego to dim his full potential. In NY players like Brunson, Bridges, O.G I feel are more humble and level headed, more of towns vibe, so he’ll feel more in tune with the vibe and be able get back to his full 100% potential .

Idk bro before that he wasn’t really assertive before Edward’s got there. He’s always been kinda soft. He’s really good and think he could become one but I just don’t think he’s built like that.

This guy put out a massive fluff piece on Towns. Can he score? Sure. Is he considtent? Hell no. He gets into foul trouble by committing stupid offensive fouls which takes him out of the game. Early in his career he would play down low with his back to the basket, now he would much rather stand outside and jack up 3s then play big.

But this is how the NBA has evolved. The Celtics just won with 5 players out in the perimeter and Nuggets won with Jokic generating offense from the top of the key and shooting 3s himself.

People forget that Hart in the starting lineup giving us blue collar worker triple doubles (10/10/10), will be so important for a team with 39-40% shooters from 3pt. Hart is the best rebounding guard in the NBA under 6'4", and KAT averaged over 11R and 25 pts per game without Gorbert clogging the paint and Edwards taking over the 1a spot on offense. This will be a more fluid, efficient, and more effective lineup without Julius stopping the flow of the ball and without his bone head 4-5 TOs per game.

KAT is a great player dont get me wrong but whenever he went up against an opposing good big man, esp w those we have in the east, he always gets outplayed (he puts up stats himself but it was never enough) probably due to his lack of defense. He also is just soft and not that crazy of a competitor, hard to explain but you just see it when he plays your team.

He is a very good third option. He is not a one-man offense, because his scoring skills are maximized as an off-the-ball player. And he is not a great defender, but he can do specific stuff in defense within a scheme. That's why Minnesota was trash with him as the best player. But if you put him in a good defensive system, limiting his role, and he can play off the ball (Minnesota last year was ideal: a PG like Conley running the show, a primary option like Ant, Town as the second/third option + Gobert on defense) then he can be good. He is still very prone to injuries and stupid stupid fouls and rotations. But again, keeping his role limited, you should be fine.

I don't know if you know this, but Thibs is the head coach of the Knicks, and he was asked. He obviously said he wanted Towns. Thibs has wanted him for three years. I love Jimmy, but let's be clear. Jimmy was mad that he didn't get paid, and Wiggins/Kat got paid over him. He took it out on the young guys. Kat was a baby back then. He's older now and has improved. He's no Jokic or the Greek Freak, but he can shoot, rebound and block shots. That's all the Knicks need him to do. Brunson, Hart, OG, Bridges, and Mcbride will do the rest with Mitch when he returns!
