If you watched a young OG Anunoby bring the ball up run the offense and play iso you’d think he wasn’t going to work out either.
Nah, he’s got 3 or 4. He showed us at 32 that he hasn’t lost a step. He had his most dunks at 32. Most players lose a step, not Kai. He’s like Steph, he takes care of his body and uses angles and shooting more as he gets older.
@@iamchaunceman I agree, Kyrie seems to have more longevity than other players. It seems like he takes care of his body better than most players. Of course anyone can get injured, but I expect Ky to be top caliber for several more seasons.
Offensively this team will have no problems whatsoever over the next few years. Kyries game, like you said, should age very well. Thompson on the other hand might be a bit different. Yes, offensively he will still be able to shoot for years to come, same way someone like Allen was. BUT next to Kyrie/Luka you need to play defense too. So I hope sooner then later one of Grimes/Marshall will take over the starting job. Depends on who is hitting his C&S 3's best. It should be Grimes, who was allways a very capable high volume 3P shooter (except last season), compared to Marshall who never was a high volume 3P shooter and only had one good year (last season) shooting 3's overall. But hey, if Marshall can prove he can make them on a good volume (on average 5+ 3's per 36), I think he would be the better option. Either way, we finally have great depth at the wing position, cause even Exum is capable of playing next to Kyrie/Luka as a good defender and (at least in the reg season) shooter. So at least for this season (probably at least the next 2) this team is legit 12 man deep. Guards: Luka/Kyrie/Dinwiddie/Hardy/Exum Forwards: Thompson/Washington/Marshall/Grimes Bigs: Lively/Gafford/Kleber And the best part, 6 of those 12 (Luka/Hardy/Grimes/Washington/Lively/Gafford) are 25 or younger, 2 for each position group. Not even counting someone like O-Max here, who has all the tools to be a great 3&D SF/PF, but still has to prove that he can get it done in the NBA.
Agreed but you're sitting on Spencer. Spencer balls out for the Mavs. Everyone thought he was washed when he was with Washington, but then came to us and played great. So don't think that he is washed cause he didn't get playing time with the Lakers. It's all about the fit with Dinwiddie. Hopefully, Omax will get to prove something this year, too. Will be tough tho.
@@ClanDWoolz MY friend, I watch the Mavs for well over 20 years. I know what Dinwiddie did for us in 2022. And I also saw what he did in 2023... not much. Can he be a good 10-15 min backup? Sure. But whoever thinks he is still 2022 Dinwiddie is wrong in my opinion.
Maybe on offense. But he isnt a massive upgrade over those 2 in general. Hardy is the more explosive scorer at this point of their careers, Exum the better defender. He just gives this roster another option. And yes, thats a good thing.
@Smido83 Exum is definitely the better defender, but the addition of Klay, Spencer, Grimes, and Marshall makes Hardy an outside rotation player to start the season, at best. I really hope Jaden takes a leap this year, but I also wouldn't be surprised if he is part of a trade either.
@@ryderjohnson1293 Oh I agree. Specially cause he is a rFA after the season. Lots of options like Dorian, Thybulle, Highsmith (depending how the season in Miami goes), Batum (depending what happens with the Clippers), Boucher, Nance Jr... lots of possibilities.
