Not about this beast but have to say your depth of field is so extreme. Your desk looks so deep in your videos. At first I wondered how you worked at it and reached your mixing desk. But does look really cool on your videos. The Pioneer looks really stretched behind you. Great review as always Joey
Thank you Joey. Great review, I was thinking about adding one to my set but now I’m not sure. How do you think the DJS compares to the PUSH 2/Ableton or the Maschine MK3/Traktor for live DJing?
It's solid gear, especially if you want to stay within the Pioneer DJ ecosystem or play a lot of clubs. It really comes down to preference, as they're all powerful set-ups :)
I have some doubts regarding Pioneer DJS-1000. I have been using Akai MPCs for a long time. Currently using Mpc 2500/1000/ Renaissance. My concerns 1) How many samples can I use at a time within a single pattern? ( In MPC, for a pattern we can use 16 x 4=64 samples in A,B,C and D banks normally) 2) How many samples can I layer in a single pad ( In MPC I can stack 4 samples with separate Volume, Pitch and Velocity levels)
I like the idea of this unit but feel native instruments Traktor remix decks implement this way of playing far more effectively alongside playing a dj set.
Does the DJS have a built in sound card to add samples from vinyl? If not can the samples be added from your mix live or must they be pre sampled? Thank you.
You can connect a line level device straight to it, or connect the Sends output of a DJM mixer (you can route audio to the DJS-1000: CDJ, a synth, an instrument, or a turntable). More info here: www.digitaldjtips.com/reviews/pioneer-dj-djs-1000-2/
It's a standalone sampler, so there's Loopmaster sounds already built in. You can also use the Toraiz SP-16, Splice sounds, and DJS-TSP Project Creator :)
The idea is good but why add a hardware on the booth...no more space ,if they could make this options available in controllers by adding something new on rkbox.we already have pad and sequencer from rekordbox dj. I think this is good for Edm Djs or producers..just my thoughts
its ok for djing though most kill it with just using cue pad far as an open format is considered but this beast here is soo good id personally have it as a production tool the amount of things you can do with this this while having fun sampling looks unreal really thinking of getting one for that purpose
Hey Max! On 16 January, head to our Facebook page for a Tuesday Tips Live video stream where we'll announce the winners - 6pm CET/5pm London/Noon EST/9am PST
thanks but what new you have done in the video. they are many vidoe for the same... your is lil good video clean backround... and talking nicely.........
The good part in the video is that you clearly said that CDJ's are the kings coz to bang the gig you need something faster. Doing live that thing with toraiz or djs 1000 needs hell lot of practice and stilll wont be able to sound better as king CDJ's Deejay will take time to learn these samplers and in majority deejay are used to of cdj#s... till than djs 2000 that would fun. I want to buy this shit but this doesnt not have the arranger, the dave smith over drive, cut off low pass and low pass etc See the fuckin price and it must around 800 to 900€ or dollars not more than that coz is has limited features yet. Maschine mk3 or Mpc live or Mpc x are far better choice........... or toraiz if they add live sampling to it. Which pioneer officialy mentioned recently on facebook.
Stop complaining about the functionality put in work to learn the gear. Like Prince said learn an instrument. If you're going to demand high salaries learn the ins and outs of MUSIC. this gear is simple if you KNOW music. Part of the reason why music is sounding the same is because they keep building short cuts and no one is learning the principles of MUSIC
I love its standalone approach, I cant wait to get my hands on it.
Yeah it's cool :)

Great review as always Joey
I like this because it was a very well balanced review. Nice work!
Cheers!
Thanks for this honest review Joey !
Definitely!
Nice, reminds me the Roland SP GROOVE SAMPLER 808 can u do any songs with it in the mixer section ??
Impressive stuff
crap stuff .. limited feature and bugs .. search youtube and see the stupid price with limited features

jeez, that thing is bigger than you bud ;)
Thank you for the review Joey. Would you recommend for a along time DJ that’s wants to get into production?
You're welcome :) If you're using Pioneer DJ's nexus set-up, it'd be a cool way to incorporate it for sure!
Can I record threw Rekerdbox and the DJS 1000 at the same time.
can you make a "playlist" on rekordbox on a flash drive and connect it to this?

What DJ Software do you have to use for this Pioneer DJS-1000? Can I use Rekordbox DJ software?

Does it comes with onboard sounds like mpc or sp for production or this is more like a fancy looper live sampler kind of gear
Fancy looper/live sampler
I will have one of these my cdjs are older I ve also vinly player my mixer is djm 750mk2 hopefully I can use this monster))
Yeah this thing is a beast :)
I wish that you could use this with some laptop based controllers to sync with rekordbox/serato dj pro software’s bpm
Would be cool :)

Nice one :)
I like, Djs-1000 Thanks
Cool isn't it? :)
Good luck with firmware update to make it better! Just look at the complaints about the firmware update for the Toraiz SP16.
:/
When is the dj census results coming?

Since google didnt gave me the right answer...
Do you need a lan cable to get this work on your pc? (as a standalone)
Not sure what you're trying to do, but I would say no - LAN is used to join these units together, not to computers.
@@digitaldjtips Aah ok thank you for your answer
Pioneer Dj Toraiz SP-16
thanks but what new you have done in the video. they are many vidoe for the same... your is lil good video clean backround... and talking nicely.........
let me see thanks again.
Pioneer needs to take lead and stuff a gigantic multi terabyte drive into the next generation.
Yeah Roger :)

Does it come with a headphone port ? And is it battery or plug in ?
With heavy heart My first ever dislike for pioneer . It’s for them Joey not for you guys
