If they had given Geto a vacation and a therapist Jujutsu Kaisen wouldn't have a plot
honestly, every jujutsu sorcerer needs a daily therapist
If Zen'in's weren't aholes to Toji, JJK wouldn't have a plot either. For a man without any cursed energy, he really did set a lot of insane stuff in motion.
Kenjaku would still do the plan anyways, it would be harder yes but Geto was not absolutely necessary, the only reason he used geto was to confuse Gojo so he would have less chances of escaping the gokumonjou
@@sandar9614No bro, Amanai even if she as alive, she inst going to fuse with Tengen, Toji just buffed Gojo.
If Toji’s wife didn’t die, or Zenin clan wasn’t a bunch of elitist assholes, jjk would have no story
Seeing the way he started the naration for season 2 off already explained to me in volumes why geto was evil "do you know what a curse tastes like" or however he said that thats all his existance is.
Rikos death, being boddied by a monkey with a heavenly pact, the room where gojo asked if he should annihilate everyrone and then this.
Getos life is an unavoidable tragedy and it sucks, because he truly believed everything he said, but when riko died and gojo asked if he should eviscerate everyone gojo was asking for a yes or no - Geto proceeded to hold a dialogue about how there absolutely must be a reason for killing nornal humans.
He wasnt trying to convince gojo - he was trying to convince himself
Also some symbolism - gojo took tojis blessing (megumi) geto took his curse (literally his fucking cursed spirit he used)
lol stfu bout that blessing and curse its mfin corny
Well actually geto should not have any reason to hate Toji because he is ''a monkey with a heavenly pact'' as a matter of fact toji fits his criteria for an ideal world since people with zero cursed energy like Toji also dont create/contribute to making a curses. The only reason he should hate him is because of riko's death. The monkeys he hates are your everyday citizens who unknowingly create curses and trouble jujutsu sorcerers.
No need to cuss
@@ogo5516Toji still broke him it doesn’t matter if geto put himself back together again he definitely still wouldn’t like him but he would be a ideal candidate
NOICE catching the blessing vs curse I missed that! Thanks!
At least now we've seen the backstory of why Geto was expelled from Jujutsu High. I'm certain that we all remember the mention of that incident from Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
Ah, an anime only, huh?
@@gabrielhernandez2736not everyone reads manga, especially when gege has spotty writing at times and a terrible schedule, littered with breaks and basically two weeks between 262 and 263
While Geto was killing monkeys in the streets,
Kenny was holding tightly on those bedsheets😊
Yuji was, currently at this time, a child and Kenjaku surely didn't have Kaori's body anymore!
Jin is dead and Itadori is raised by his grandfather. Kenny probably went missing after killing Jin. So yea before Geto Kenny was using Kaori's body no other in between that time.
Basically, he's the Magneto of the Jujutsu world
i dont think anybody was genociding the sorcerers dawg
Voldemort*
He's the type of villain who aims to take theirs world's people with supernatural abilities and make them the superior race by dominating the normal race or by genociding them
@@squidwardtentacles244 Curses were the #1 cause of death for sorcerers, and it was non-sorcerers who (inadvetantly) created those curses
Not really he more of the big badass mini boss that everyone thought was the real boss till after they killed him and the real boss takes over his body an says game time after being alive for over 700 years.
The Japanese monk's garment that Geto wears at the end of the story, the cloth over his shoulders, is called a "kesa" in Japanese.
There are several types of kesa, and the version Geto wears is officially called "Gojo-kesa" He goes out of his way to wear the same kesa as his best friend's name when there are other options.
Years after this scene, and for that matter during the "movie," he continues to wear the Gojo kesa.
The ending they follow is a separation, but their friendship is sadly beautiful.
(The author has made it clear that this was not an accident, but an intentional dressing.)
oh also he uses colors prominent with his two best friends gojo and shoko, green and blue, as well as his own, yellow, and gojos, being blue, are the most prominent, meanwhile his own are the least prominent
I mostly here because of that cursed spirit at Geto's side, it looks sick
Yeah wished it had more screen time.
I hope we see it again in the future, it looks more badass than the rainbow dragon.
Horrifying asf, they could have shown off more of getos destructive power by giving the curses he uses actual strength, like the special grade curse he uses against yuta that dies immediately, could have been so much more intense, or bringing back this curse/giving it a name
@@matalinoe4059 what's wrong with the rainbow dragon
@@niteriemcfarlane5285 I think he just meant that this cursed Spirit Looks cooler
Toji really beat this man into a whole new personality, imagine beating someone’s ass to the point where they had a shift of reality😂
That was far from the only reason why he did this.
Toji is the whole reason Geto calls them monkeys constantly
Jujutsu sorcerers were supposed to protect non- sorcerers, people without cursed energy, people like Toji and then there's the foundation that applaud over the death of a girl (Toji's courtesy)
Toji fans on their way to credit toji for playing the small part of killing riko in geto’s downfall is so annoying
@@HabitualThinker it’s not just that. He also easily defeated Geto, mocked him for it, and made him think that his best friend was dead (he turned out to be alive, but the feeling in the moment added to his stress).
The dichotomy of Gojo v. Geto is gorgeous. The biggest tell was the Akari ending song that shows gojo unaffected by rain with an umbrella, meanwhile Geto is soaked by it.
Their abilities almost defined their fates. Gojo was always slightly removed from humanity due to his abilities. Geto’s unfortunate abilities came from directly absorbing the curses and malignant energies of humanity.
Geto’s putting himself through this why? So the monkeys can beat the shit outta him and his best friend nearly killing them, kill an innocent girl, and then other monkeys CHEER for her death? Oh and wait it gets worse cuz you went through all of that, the worst day of your life, for no reason cuz they had another vessel on stand by. So he’s constantly absorbing the worst of humanity, now he’s seen the worst of them, what did you almost die for? What did gojo almost die for? What did Riku die for?
Making it worse for Geto, is Gojos ascension. It separated them making geto alone with his thoughts. Gojo, with his infinite vision, fails him because he doesn’t see his friend fallin apart before his very eyes.
Geto wanted to be back on par with Gojo. So he elevated himself and every other sorcerer in his erase humans plan, putting himself above monkeys and closer to Gojo again. 10/10 arc frfr
Edit: it’s even more pronounced because when geto looks at his hand at the morgue during haibaras death, all he sees is blood overflowing. During one of the end songs gojo looks at his hand and only sees the infinite cosmos behind it further showing he is beyond these human issues, unlike geto desperately fighting to stay above human nature including his own. Hence, his elevation in the eradication of all humans.
Double edit: the opening song “where our blue” (ao- blue) plus the ending song “Akari” (aka- red) makes purple! The technique Gojo uses for the first time in that arc! That arc is literally beautifully put together from beginning to ending
A stellar comment
@@Yasha-. thank you. It’s my favorite arc in all of anime so it means a lot that my perspective was able to be shared and appreciated.

@@Yasha-. not a lick of incoherence. Very well stated. I wish I could have conversations like the one we’re having in real life but hey at least we got to have this conversation at all. Stay dope man
Geto's the def of "the final straw broke the camel's back".
yup
This was sooo satisfying. I hate it when superstitious witch-hunt villagers don't feel the consequences of their prejudice. Few things are more agitating than ignorant masses, I think my hatred started with Devilman Crybaby after that scene with the lynch mob parading body parts around
Second. Geto did nothing wrong.
@@jordy7625no I mean he was still killing innocent people after this, like his parents
It's so simple as, villagers didn't knew what they were doing, Geto did
@@jordy7625 That's where you are wrong. Seeing superstitious village dwellers get killed is cathartic as hell, but Geto killing innocent people is where he crossed the line.
Geto followed the same path as we, minecraft players
Wow
Players "They just NPC"
Geto "They just Monkeys"
Especially real life Minecraft players
He was just feeling a little down and a little goofy your honor, he did nothing wrong 🥺
Gojo: "i wanna run a mass fade..."
Geto "nah, bad idea bro...*debating it*
Gojo: "aight, im out... later fam."
Geto: "Wait, no... he has a point?"
And yet, Geto had fallen to a path where Gojo was saved from. How tragic
If you think about it, this happened because Yuki agrees with his idea
So.... Women☕?
She gave him a choice, either to enter the killer door or the peaceful door, he would snap either way he just wanted a justification for the killing, she is not at fault she said they need to teach people how to use their curse energy

That's like saying yea we can stop world hunger by killing all the poor people. Everyone know that will solve the issue but you would still blame the maniac who actually tried it
It's two fold really. He believes that curses are the fault of non sorcerers and so he is indignant that the villagers would blame a problem they created on two sorcerers, and children no less.
not gonna lie why GEGE don't show the power of the curse that geto use to Eraze the village. it look so cool
it's so crazy that when I was first introduced to gojo and geto as students, if anyone asked me to pick which one of them would have become evil, I definitely would NOT have picked geto. Shows you how drastically riko chan's death changed him
My heart broke when he became head of star religious groupb
what is the cursed spirit ?!?! it looks incredibly menacing omg
turns out because yuki says geto that if you kill all non sorcerers will create a world without sorcerers so he just gone mad :/
music is so terrifying, true evil back story
Evil? But he's right.
Killing an entire village just isn’t logical.
Well, for someone who begs for a purpose to justify being crazy as if he's Owlman from that standalone DC movie, yes it is illogical and that is the point. Now, he's just making excuses.
Geto's moral encompass changes, and does his beliefs. The question is how to know whether you're right or wrong which depends on the degree of results your action can make, will it be positive or negatively benefits yourself, if it does not offer you good results therefore it's not morally right. The choice you make will always produce the best results that benefits you positively, if it harms you at the end, then it does not justify the means, and thus morally incorrect.
They failed to asses him correctly after the young lady got shot in the head. How could they not have known. And then that dumb lazy rogue sorceress, put a dead in his head.
His story is very sad. I don't like it. Not like it needs to be a happy ending, but having his body used as a tool after he initially died, torture. I mean because it's his body you'd have to assume some of his consciousness or soul still resides in the body.
This geto had all of 2020 to vacation and a therapist and still killed all his villagers; it didn't matter.
The reason he has to absorb disgusting curses: Humans
The reason curses exist: Humans
The reason his friends who are Jujutsu sorcerers will die/get hurt:
Curses which come from Humans
The reason Riko died: Humans
The reason Mimiko and Nanako were abused: Humans
No wonder he snapped.
Honestly, us humans don't deserve most of the heros that fight and die for us.
We're dispicable creatures.
Jesus Christ, see a therapist man. It's a damn cartoon.
Not saying a cartoon can't be deep or art, but being a nihilistic whiner because of it is just silly. Yes, humans can suck ass. Humans can also do great things. That's literally how nature and the entire universe works. You have to learn to live with it and make the most of it that you can.
"Hur, durh, humans bad"
So Geto should have killed everyone?

Man everyone keeps thriving this "broken villain" agenda and stuff but everyone goes through shit, it's what you make of those broken moments that really crafts you into the human being you want to be.
No reason is ever justified for being evil.
Well, the villagers sucks of I were him I'll destroy the village like in Minecraft
Every human who justify murder is awful
What about the people who got what they deserved? What about self defense? Murder can be justified in the right circumstances.

now here me out HE DID NOTHING WRONG
He was going to murder most of the human population…
Excuse me what about him literally killing his PARENTS?
Seeing Suguru before his villain arc showed that he was generally a nice guy with strong morals. Now, it’s not that far of an assumption to make that his parents must have also been decent people to raise a decent child. So him killing his parents, even if it was to remain unbiased, doesn’t seem exactly “right” to me considering that they were probably just innocent people killed by their own child 🤷🏻♀️

To bad we didnt you know actually see him destroy the Village
I wonder what gojo or nanami would have done if they had been in geto's place
Taken the children for the school and killed the curses.
Alternate timeline: All villagers kill Geto.
I Fully support geto
So geto becomes magneto..
I wish they explained this further in the anime. I wasn't very clear why Geto killed the villagers. Is it explained better in the Manga?
It’s because of the blind discrimination against the young girls who have cursed energy. Up until that point, Geto was not in a good place mentally, and seeing the discrimination against his kind was the final nail in the coffin for geto to decide on killing all non sorcerers
bro is NOT anakin skywalker….
Can someone tell me what cursed spirit is this? 0:47
geto is just broken
This kind of makes sence. I mean we all probably had that time when we were disgusted in humanity's stupidity and wanted to just erase it.
I'm not gonna say he did the right thing at the village, but...
Brother, he did it because other people were also bad. That doesn't mean he isn't bad. Killing a complete human monster unlawfully is still murder.

"Our Fellow Sorcerers Corpses"
Spoilers:
It says something that the last thing Gojo did before fighting Sukuna was massacre the elders like how Geto killed the village here. They really were two peas in a pod.
In this instance...geto succumbed to his inner racist..
Geto is very racist to Toji Fushiguro
Nope, he killed the villains.
He killed the villains of those children's story. That doesn't mean their lives had no value and a right to be sanctified. They didn't take anybody's lives as far as that scene is concerned.
Geto returned evil because Riko death, similar Obito.
You only not some parts right. His Curse Manipulation ability that allows him to absorb curses leaves a terrible taste in his mouth, figuratively speaking. And the ultimate cause for such uncomfortable experiences to occur is ultimately humans. And apparently, that is just an unavoidable part of a moral responsibility towards said humans.
Realizing that said painful duty isn't just uncomfortable due to his powers but also very tragic and not so clean and not what a moral idealist would like after being traumatized several times in the job took a heavy toll on his psyche.
So no, not like Obito.
He went from a humble nice guy to a racist cult leader
If you think about it Geto is kind of similar as Eren
eh, kinda I think it's a big more similar to scara than eren
Not really. Eren cared about his friends and Mikasa more than anything, Geto cares about his ideals more than anything.
The burn this disgusting world mentality is something I can adore from a distance. Can’t support it, but I definitely cannot say their wrong.
@@BayCystSuguru is doing this in his mind to protect all sorcerers. So in fact he cares about more people than Eren did. Eren’s actually more selfish.
Fair, but I feel like if you're at the point of murdering practically everyone on the planet sparing a few and sparing a few thousand don't really equate to much. Also, Eren did it because he cherishes his friends but Geto acts because he hates humans. I do see the similarities but I do feel there are some stark differences as well@@BigV24
tbh those villagers kinda deserved it
Everybody deserves what they get.
Same should also apply to Geto and his suffering if you think the viilagers deserved it. I know I think so.
I'm sure all 110 of them weren't awful people
Yes but imagine you don’t have any damn idea about supernatural stuff that happens in the world and you see 2 children doing magic harming the surrounding. They said the girls were doing damage to the village. I’m sure that’s because they weren’t able to control it but to the normal humans the girls would be like ghost or monsters. It was really a tragedy both for the girls and the village and it snapped Geto so it took turn for the worst.
@@GameZone-ib7euI thought they were exorcising the curses??
Everytime geto came on the screen I did too.
Hahaha wow

Geto idea like Hao from shaman king
Ngl, I would've preferred if the story continued as it was, Geto being himself, Gojo deciding to teach the youngest so they can make Jujutsu society great, Yuta and Rika being the protagonist etc, like yeah the one we got is cool but the old one has so much potential
But Yuta’s whole arc was the free the cursed Rika. He achieved it. He is already the most powerful after Gojo that is. Him being the protagonist doesn’t make sense. And truthfully Yuta is not a hero material character. Like Gojo he was born with everything. There’s no perfect adversary for him. Yuji on the other hand is perfect for Jujutsu Kaisen.
@@GameZone-ib7euit truly was his Jujutsu Kaisen…
