Plus many times in the story even in NT Aleister knows Touma is majorly and one of the main focus with both Science and Magic. Being the hero of science and hero who wants to help balance magic.
I think it’s the sealing Aleister seems to be care about the most and possibly scared of. After all, it’s very mysterious, theirs a lot of theories and questions on what’s inside Touma’s right arm. My theory is that there maybe something beyond the dragons that might possibly descend the Magic Gods, Coronzon, Aiwass, phases and maybe even the pure world. It might be possible this beyond dragon arm could rival or surpass even Aleister however must be mastered and learned to obey its owner (In which case the owner is Touma of course). He must learn to train and use it something similar to Whis using Ultra Instinct whenever he wants.

Aleister is known to be a hypocrite and ultimately selfish. While he says he's doing it for the world, really he's doing it for himself and Lillith. As long as he gets to his goal he's willing to take as many shortcuts as necessary. As Aiwass said, Aleister always thinks in what is the most efficient means to do things.
i still believe that touma has a wish granting ability, and imagine breaker is the result of his wish of having a "normal" life, so he doesn't became extraordinary by having that ability. this would explain the dragons, his wish of ending the conflict using the strongest thing he can think (and they only appear when imagine breaker is not on his body). and i think this would also answer why Kamijou touma (Emancipation) came to life, it come from touma's deepest wish of using imagine breaker to it's fullest potential. the problem is, who grants that wish ? because i'm pretty sure imagine breaker doesn't have the ability to grant wishes, so that only leaves touma having the ability itself
The IB was fated to be with Touma before he was borned, according to Aleister he created all Academy City as a Set-Up to Touma's Advent. So I think the IB knows Touma would desire be a normal person even before he borned?

Great vid as always Aeon! My personal theory on who the nameless Saint was that use to own Imagine Breaker was in fact, St.George. My reason is base on clues found in OT1 and OT2. In OT1, when Touma first meets Index and destroys the Walking Church with Imagine Breaker, Styil makes a comment saying The Walking Church could only be destroyed if the Dragon of St.George had returned. Later on in the vol when Touma has his final battle with Pendex, Index uses a number of spells to counter Touma's Imagine Breaker St. George's Sanctuary (a high-class defensive spell that distorts space-time) and a spell called 竜王の殺息 ("Killing Breath of the Dragon King). Kanzaki makes a comment saying 竜王の殺息 is a high-class offensive spell that has the same amount of power as the legendary dragon of Saint George. As we know, The after-effect of the spell creates Feathers Of Light and destroys our poor lad's memories. But, its with OT2 where things get really interesting... When Aureolus Izzard cuts Touma's right hand and Imagine Breaker, a Dragon pops out in its place, the book then points out the thing was like the stuff of Legends and called the attack 竜王の顎 (Jaw of the Dragon King). As we know, Dragon King turns Izzard into its own personal chew toy. The next day when Styil visits our poor boy in the hospital, Styil says something happens to Izzard almost like his memories were destroyed or he was like a new person. For many years, fans believe Styil was the one that did something to Lzzard, however last year after Railgun T episode 14 (Ironic called Dragon Strike) aired. Ogino Kentarou (Railgun manga editor) revealed each Dragons powers with Dragon King's (the same one from OT2) being: This Dragon specializes in decursing and psychological attacks. If it bites you, you could have your memories destroyed! And there you have it! While a pretty new crack theory of mine, I believe The Legend St.George and The Dragon could be a very key puzzle piece to the mystery of Kamijou Touma, Imagine Breaker, and the Dragons.
I still think that the previous IB holder was The Son of god. And that saint was not referring to someone who has saint physical body, But It's more of Saviour. It's in Line when Anna said he already has seen someone like touma, which she described machine that saves people in GT2 2000y ago. And the treasure of Blythe road disappeared bc it was destroyed and can't regenerate bc the holder, the son of god was already died. So he can't really attached itself to his right hand again. IB didn't disappeared or choosing the next holder after the previous holder die was bc the right hand was still "alive" as we see from OT and NT, for IB to come back with regenerate right hand, the right hand need to "die" first or in other words can't be reconnected. It's in line with OT2 which it didn't regenerate bc it can still be attached, and if you want to streeeeeeeeeeeech it's also happened on NT22R.
I thought maybe he's a sort of rebirth version of him or as corny as it sounds a second coming, the whole thing with the church caught my attention I mean they obviously treated him the same way the Pharisees did, they were afraid of his growing faction except this time it's labeled as the Kamijou faction the Irony itself is kinda there too. His birth as well and Aleister convincing his parents to take him to this promised place where he could be safe and grow.
Thanks for the backstory and background information on Imagine Breaker. Touma gets his memories more than a bit back at the end of New Testament of A Certain Magical Index when Index comes back to life at the end when he speaks with her on the hill. I’ll be honest I’ve never read the light novels and I’ve only seen the first season of the anime and the thing I probably know most about in the series is Imagine Breaker and it might sound silly but I like to pretend I have Imagine Breaker in my right arm.
Awesome explanation video! My fav explanations on Imagine Breaker are from Ollerus when he talked with Touma after they brought him back to Academy City followed up by the further explanations in the Othinus Arc.
Thank god for a video not obsessed with the dragons or Invisible Thing. Because Imagine Breaker is the perfect main character ability or I should say limb and I prefer it over whatever is past it. Since Touma is so good with it and uses it much more interesting than other MCs who has negating powers. So let this video be the beginning of spreading the word of the awesome power of Imagine Breaker. (Spoilers of NT22-22R) Btw love how Touma feels so connected to it during NT22-22R, he misses it and feels like nothing without it even after Othinus talks him up.
@A Certain Medi agreed, it has a lot of weaknesses that includes even the negation part of it. Anyways you can outpace the Imagine Breaker’s negation rate which is extremely hard, but the fact it’s possible for magicians that aren’t Saints to have spells on that scale of speed is insane. It’s literally limited to his right hand that’s very small compared to his whole body so he has to overstretch himself to catch anything in it’s grasps and this is a problem with attacks that come from multiple sides up close especially. He can’t use or be supported by anything supernatural cause it’ll be negated, St. Germain is a extremely rare case with his stronger version because of Anna. But he can’t use his Esper power even if it’s useful at level 0, and magic is like cutting yourself internally cause he’s already an Esper and IB will negate most of the power anyways to make it useless. His body isn’t as strong or fast as most supernatural attacks that are meant to one shot or kill people instantly, so IB was sorta useless to the magic side if he didn’t start off in Academy City to gain experience until he got precognition and be able to fight back. Lastly it can’t even beat World Rejector that had the power which was supernatural to start from the inside, so Imagine Breaker is potentially useless against attacks that start within his hand. Imagine Breaker also doesn’t register strange stuff as supernatural like Accelerator’s vector controlled attacks that is something supernatural making a object stronger, so Imagine Breaker only saw the object was always this power which is ridiculous. So the rules of supernatural and natural can get seriously flawed.
I actually think there are still some people who use negation are still interesting, maybe not as interesting as touma but there’s definitely characters who use negation that are interesting as well

To bring in a reference to another vast fiction, I find it easiest to compare Imagine Breaker to SCP's Scranton Reality Anchors. A device that attempts to forcibly reassert baseline reality within it's area of influence. Capable of nullifying reality warping powers and even contain immensly powerful supernatural entities. Come to think of it, the universes have a lot in common, including how magic usually works.
My own theory of Imagine Breaker : 1. Kamijou family does have it but they do not realize 2. Touma has IB since child, the hint : his father said touma seems to be misfortune since he was little 3. Touma can actually use it intentionally, if touma think the foreign power from another person comes to him, it automatically negates. Hint : when shirai kuroko tries to teleport touma by touching his left shoulder, he negates, but touma cannot negates the heat from water can given by misaka (touma consider water can as not a power source), and touma did not use IB to negate misaka electric strike(refer to point 4) 4. Shirai kuroko teleport attempt suggest that imagine breaker is not reside in right hand, but touma itself is imagine breaker 5. Imagine breaker may increase his physical strength, hint : his fight with imposter unabara mitsuki, he simply push H steel constuction beam. I know its crappy animation but it could be a fact to another IB power
Sorry, But i'm debunking these. 1. The Kamijou family didn't have it. If they do, they would have the same misfortune tendecies as Touma. But it was already stated that his parentd are pretty lucky. Plus there could be only one Imagine Breaker, that much is for Certain. 2. Thats not even a theory. Its already confirmed. Touma himself already said in OT1 that he had IB from birth. 3. ??? If that was the case, then God's blessing (aka Luck) wouldnt be negated at all. Imagine Breaker is a passive ability. The water can youre talking about cant be negated because its not a supernatural power, but a result that was cause by it. 4. Kuroko cant teleport Touma because she tried to teleport his right hand along with his body. If she tried to Teleport Touma without carriying his right hand with him, then it would have worked. 5. Nope. IB didn't increas his physical strenght. That was all Touma. Even if you take IB, the only thing in the series that is stronger than him physically are saints.
@@kamijounotouma5596 i see a bit of an error concerning point 3 between the two of you. you ignored Railgun's crazy level of electric bolts on the bridge before Touma goes to fight Accelerator for her. this whole sequence more than implies it proves that even post 'memory loss' from John's Pen defensive spell 'zapping' Touma's brain, he had conscious control of IB. A. if Kuroko can't teleport all of Touma at once because his hand is part of his body, and IB is part of his body, would she be able to 'blip him' and leave his right hand and IB behind? no, because A1 she wouldn't do that, even unconsciously, she's still a 'good girl' and wouldn't hurt a person like that, her 'personal reality' has evolved to include the whole object her touch teleport is touching. so her personal reality would try to grab his right hand too and it would be fizzled. A2 IB is somewhat under Touma's control. as i used the example before, Railgun couldn't zap ALL of Touma to death with several electric attacks that traveled THE WHOLE LENGTH of a steel suspension bridge. do you know the resistance to electrical charge that much steel has? plus the entire bridge is grounded in several places to prevent lightning strikes from damaging it, all bridges are designed that way. so to keep from turning into a doggone charcoal briquette, even with Touma's sneakers somewhat grounding him on the asphalt road-surface, IB had to protect Touma somewhat. now if i'm wrong and the partial-consciousness of IB was protecting Touma or if he was subconsciously himself negating some of Railgun's zaps? shrug. your guess is as good as mine. because Touma didn't raise his right arm/hand to 'catch lighting in his hand' like normally he does to Railgun when she goes all 'bugzapper' on him. B. healing magic. during Aqua (useless goddess! ;) ) of the Rear's attack on Academy City seeking to take Touma's right arm... our hero is massively injured. Itsuwa tries to heal Touma but the spell fizzles no matter how many times she tried it. Touma at that time was nigh on unconscious and unable to even raise his right hand. so, why did her spell fizzle IF his hand wasn't involved or his conscious mind controlling IB? maybe IB is part of Touma's whole body providing a minimum level of protection and that is why the spell failed and also why Railgun couldn't zap him to death easily. also, in WW3 Railgun couldn't even grab Touma's belt buckle and lift him off the Star of Bethlehem into the hovering jet to save him. each time she reached out with a magnetic field IB fizzled it. Touma didn't want to die there, but the magnetic field still failed. C. there is a problem with the 'unified body/IB field' hypothesis though. Shokuhou's Mental Out. she uses it on Touma and communicates with him. but she specifically warns him 'do not touch your head or i will have to reconnect with you!' Touma is SEVERAL STORIES below Shokuhou as she's looking down upon him from a high-rise building. she's behind mirrored glass and he can't see her. he can't sense her with his instincts. he doesn't even know whom she is or what her esper ability is at this point. but she can still connect with him. so, if IB worked like Railgun's EM field keeping Shokuhou 'out' or if IB was running through his whole body giving a minimal level of 'negation'. how did Mental Out touch Touma's brain? but that's just my two cents worth of ideas. take em or leave em as you wish. :D
@@lesliekilgore648 On the contrary, all of those powers and abilities that you mentioned actually worked on Touma, its only when the power touch his right hand that it went "poof". Touma cant control Imagine Breaker (yet), the closest thing to that is when he utilize it's slow negating speed to catch supernatural projectiles and redirect them, but that's just him turning a handicap to an advantage. Itsuwa's healing spell that you mentioned for example, actually was healing for a split sec, but once it spread across until it reach his hand, it dissapeared. Same with Misaka's lightning, Kuroko' teleportation, etc. They all effected his body, but it just spead to his hand that it didn't work cuz it got cancelled midway. You get me? IB can only protect Touma if the spell/ability effect his entire body. In the bridge scene, the lightning from Misaka *can* be negated, but what Touma cant nullify is the shock that was caused by them, similar to how Touma can negate Stiyl's fire, but he can't negate the burn that was created by the fire. Another thing thats I want to mention, is that something that I hopefully not get wrong, is thats when Touma fought Accelerator for the first and third time, he didn't consider just grabbing the guy and punching with his left hand to finish him off, this is because Imagine Breaker wouldn't fully negate Accelerator's vector Shield. It will nullify the power specifically on the body part that he grab with Imagine Breaker. (Say if Touma grab Accel's left hand, then for that moment, Accel wouldn't be able to use his power *only* on that specific body part, the rest will still function). Some people actually think Touma can nullify someone's Esper power with just touching because of his fight with Misaka near that river, but what actually happens is that Misaka only tries to channel her power through her hand that was touching Imagine Breaker, making her think her power was gone. If she tried generate lightning with anything other than that hand, it would work.) Now for Mental Out. Imagine Breaker has still weird function where it can still negate shiz even though its covered by a thin layer of object. Iirc, Touma was wearing gloves in WW3, and his Imagine Breaker would still able to negate magic through it. The same logic could apply when he touch his head to negate mental powers. The layer between his hand and his brain is thin enough that the negation could still apply.
Frankly speaking, these theories are interesting.... Although this does cemented facts that Touma is literally an unlucky Badass to a T. Since he can punch metal or a beam till dent with raw muscle power alone without any reinforcement or augmentation from both sides. And still earn the full bulk of the damage of the fight even though he's survived from the encounter. Infinite hell alone made him the only person alive that can utilize IB to it's fullest potential. Then again, he's already capable making the best of it before it if the theory that imagine breaker does provide some boost in certain aspect with literally zero luck to the wielder's name. Also, if Imagine Breaker does give Touma some sort of boost, then it'll make his precognition even more broken as he technically could "boost" his base self to keep up with types of attacks that are out of his capabilities as "a normal highschool boy with too much experience in street fight" could handle. Still nuts to take in that Touma only want to have a nice nap and not have to deal with any life threatening shenanigans after his sorry ass every day after everything is said and done...
They are separated power. We don't don't know for sure what their link is, at first we thought that IB was a power that sealed the IT and Dragons, but then there's a few occasions where Touma uses that power with his right hand still intact, so we don't know for sure, sometimes the narration also mentioned aot as Touma's own power.
If imagine breaker has consciousness on it's own and ack as a seal, it be really looking for touma because something inside of him need to be contained or something really bad will happen and only imagine breaker can hold it..
Accelerator is more of a backup plan and a convenient and powerful weapon for Aleister to use. Remember, Aleister prepares thousands of plans because he's cursed to a life of failure, he needs a lot of tools at his disposal.
I think it has something to do with his road to Level 6. Aiwass comes from a realm said to be related somehow to AIM,and he himself requires large amounts of it to manifest a lesser form. That,and Aleister's beliefs. Specifically ,the Aeon of Horus. The idea of the Aeon of Horus( at least,to my understanding) is to help humanity rise to an age of mass deification and Apotheosis, where each human would become their own "Horus". Aiwass is treated like a guide of this entity,whilst Aleister declared himself it's manifestation, as Aiwass' first ( apparent) student and the writer of the Book Of The Law. In other words,whilst Touma was extensively important for his plans of revenge against the Majin,Accelerator( and espers in general )may in fact be his portent for the future of mankind itself. To reach the realm above their machinations and control it,as Othinus said. He'd either be the one to close the gap and reach it.... Or leading the charge.
@@AeonofHorus According to Kakine, Accelerator is the Main Plan and then somebody (I don't remember right now) said the IB and the Accelerator-ability are needed to acess to Aiwass Core (Maybe this would be relevant to stomp Anna). So I think are both needed to the Plan, but Kakine can be used instead Accel if the Main Plan fails

You know one of things I would want to know . Previous host or storages of IB . It would be cool to see Touma to contact its previous host . Just like in Avatar , I just like to see how it go . It also been interesting rebel for example to find out that IB once possessed a famously obscure item for example, some projectile that killed some rulers .

This may be...out of lore. But I had a thought of a superman fan story based on Touma's powers. It focused on Jimmy Olsen's watch, which not only calls superman but is able to negate powers of rouge Kryptonians or medahumans mutated by kryptonite. The watch can sometimes call Superman by itself. And when the watch is destroyed it unleshes these wierd monsters called the Kryptonian gods. After they are done they go back into the watch...newly repaired.

Great Video and even tho i just started reading the novels 3 days ago, after finishing watching all of toaru, your videos are making me really hype to what is still ahead of me . Even tho its not related to the video, i had two questions regarding volume 1. The magic ritual index and komoe performed to heal index, was that a smaller degree of idol theory ,since instead of recreating something from legends they did it with an apartment. Are runes also a main source of magic like the four elements, magic ley lines or idol theory , like is stiyl drawing his magic from one of the four elements, in that case fire or entirely from the runes?

Have you considered the IB to be a representation or manifestation of the Thelemic God Hadit? ... when you investigate a little of it, you notice too many similarities with recognized symbolisms to Touma...
This maybe explsin why IB is not only Magic or ESP Personal Realities are basicaly the Science's Side Equivalent to Thelesma, so IB can negate PR as well because are a valid equivalent to negate

No spoilers, Aleister Crowley is the creator and general director of the academy city, he is also the best toaru character in terms of writing in my opinion, although my favorite is touma.

Later on in the vol when Touma has his final battle with Pendex, Index uses a number of spells to counter Touma's Imagine Breaker St. George's Sanctuary (a high-class defensive spell that distorts space-time) and a spell called 竜王の殺息 ("Killing Breath of the Dragon King). Kanzaki makes a comment saying 竜王の殺息 is a high-class offensive spell that has the same amount of power as the legendary dragon of Saint George. As we know, The after-effect of the spell creates Feathers Of Light and destroys our poor lad's memories.
But, its with OT2 where things get really interesting... When Aureolus Izzard cuts Touma's right hand and Imagine Breaker, a Dragon pops out in its place, the book then points out the thing was like the stuff of Legends and called the attack 竜王の顎 (Jaw of the Dragon King). As we know, Dragon King turns Izzard into its own personal chew toy. The next day when Styil visits our poor boy in the hospital, Styil says something happens to Izzard almost like his memories were destroyed or he was like a new person.
For many years, fans believe Styil was the one that did something to Lzzard, however last year after Railgun T episode 14 (Ironic called Dragon Strike) aired. Ogino Kentarou (Railgun manga editor) revealed each Dragons powers with Dragon King's (the same one from OT2) being: This Dragon specializes in decursing and psychological attacks. If it bites you, you could have your memories destroyed!
And there you have it! While a pretty new crack theory of mine, I believe The Legend St.George and The Dragon could be a very key puzzle piece to the mystery of Kamijou Touma, Imagine Breaker, and the Dragons.
I kinda too had idea of dragon breath and white dragon from ot2 being connected.

I still think that the previous IB holder was The Son of god. And that saint was not referring to someone who has saint physical body, But It's more of Saviour.
It's in Line when Anna said he already has seen someone like touma, which she described machine that saves people in GT2 2000y ago.
And the treasure of Blythe road disappeared bc it was destroyed and can't regenerate bc the holder, the son of god was already died. So he can't really attached itself to his right hand again. IB didn't disappeared or choosing the next holder after the previous holder die was bc the right hand was still "alive" as we see from OT and NT, for IB to come back with regenerate right hand, the right hand need to "die" first or in other words can't be reconnected. It's in line with OT2 which it didn't regenerate bc it can still be attached, and if you want to streeeeeeeeeeeech it's also happened on NT22R.
I thought maybe he's a sort of rebirth version of him or as corny as it sounds a second coming, the whole thing with the church caught my attention I mean they obviously treated him the same way the Pharisees did, they were afraid of his growing faction except this time it's labeled as the Kamijou faction the Irony itself is kinda there too. His birth as well and Aleister convincing his parents to take him to this promised place where he could be safe and grow.
Thanks for the backstory and background information on Imagine Breaker. Touma gets his memories more than a bit back at the end of New Testament of A Certain Magical Index when Index comes back to life at the end when he speaks with her on the hill. Awesome explanation video! My fav explanations on Imagine Breaker are from Ollerus when he talked with Touma after they brought him back to Academy City followed up by the further explanations in the Othinus Arc.
Thank god for a video not obsessed with the dragons or Invisible Thing. Because Imagine Breaker is the perfect main character ability or I should say limb and I prefer it over whatever is past it. Since Touma is so good with it and uses it much more interesting than other MCs who has negating powers.

Btw love how Touma feels so connected to it during NT22-22R, he misses it and feels like nothing without it even after Othinus talks him up.
@A Certain Medi agreed, it has a lot of weaknesses that includes even the negation part of it.
Anyways you can outpace the Imagine Breaker’s negation rate which is extremely hard, but the fact it’s possible for magicians that aren’t Saints to have spells on that scale of speed is insane.
It’s literally limited to his right hand that’s very small compared to his whole body so he has to overstretch himself to catch anything in it’s grasps and this is a problem with attacks that come from multiple sides up close especially.
He can’t use or be supported by anything supernatural cause it’ll be negated, St. Germain is a extremely rare case with his stronger version because of Anna. But he can’t use his Esper power even if it’s useful at level 0, and magic is like cutting yourself internally cause he’s already an Esper and IB will negate most of the power anyways to make it useless.
His body isn’t as strong or fast as most supernatural attacks that are meant to one shot or kill people instantly, so IB was sorta useless to the magic side if he didn’t start off in Academy City to gain experience until he got precognition and be able to fight back.
Lastly it can’t even beat World Rejector that had the power which was supernatural to start from the inside, so Imagine Breaker is potentially useless against attacks that start within his hand.
Imagine Breaker also doesn’t register strange stuff as supernatural like Accelerator’s vector controlled attacks that is something supernatural making a object stronger, so Imagine Breaker only saw the object was always this power which is ridiculous. So the rules of supernatural and natural can get seriously flawed.
I actually think there are still some people who use negation are still interesting, maybe not as interesting as touma but there’s definitely characters who use negation that are interesting as well

To bring in a reference to another vast fiction, I find it easiest to compare Imagine Breaker to SCP's Scranton Reality Anchors. A device that attempts to forcibly reassert baseline reality within it's area of influence.
Capable of nullifying reality warping powers and even contain immensly powerful supernatural entities.
Come to think of it, the universes have a lot in common, including how magic usually works.
My own theory of Imagine Breaker :
1. Kamijou family does have it but they do not realize
2. Touma has IB since child, the hint : his father said touma seems to be misfortune since he was little
3. Touma can actually use it intentionally, if touma think the foreign power from another person comes to him, it automatically negates. Hint : when shirai kuroko tries to teleport touma by touching his left shoulder, he negates, but touma cannot negates the heat from water can given by misaka (touma consider water can as not a power source), and touma did not use IB to negate misaka electric strike(refer to point 4)
4. Shirai kuroko teleport attempt suggest that imagine breaker is not reside in right hand, but touma itself is imagine breaker
5. Imagine breaker may increase his physical strength, hint : his fight with imposter unabara mitsuki, he simply push H steel constuction beam. I know its crappy animation but it could be a fact to another IB power
Sorry, But i'm debunking these.
1. The Kamijou family didn't have it. If they do, they would have the same misfortune tendecies as Touma. But it was already stated that his parentd are pretty lucky. Plus there could be only one Imagine Breaker, that much is for Certain.
2. Thats not even a theory. Its already confirmed. Touma himself already said in OT1 that he had IB from birth.
3. ??? If that was the case, then God's blessing (aka Luck) wouldnt be negated at all. Imagine Breaker is a passive ability. The water can youre talking about cant be negated because its not a supernatural power, but a result that was cause by it.
4. Kuroko cant teleport Touma because she tried to teleport his right hand along with his body. If she tried to Teleport Touma without carriying his right hand with him, then it would have worked.
5. Nope. IB didn't increas his physical strenght. That was all Touma. Even if you take IB, the only thing in the series that is stronger than him physically are saints.

@@kamijounotouma5596 i see a bit of an error concerning point 3 between the two of you. you ignored Railgun's crazy level of electric bolts on the bridge before Touma goes to fight Accelerator for her. this whole sequence more than implies it proves that even post 'memory loss' from John's Pen defensive spell 'zapping' Touma's brain, he had conscious control of IB.
A. if Kuroko can't teleport all of Touma at once because his hand is part of his body, and IB is part of his body, would she be able to 'blip him' and leave his right hand and IB behind? no, because
A1 she wouldn't do that, even unconsciously, she's still a 'good girl' and wouldn't hurt a person like that, her 'personal reality' has evolved to include the whole object her touch teleport is touching. so her personal reality would try to grab his right hand too and it would be fizzled.
A2 IB is somewhat under Touma's control. as i used the example before, Railgun couldn't zap ALL of Touma to death with several electric attacks that traveled THE WHOLE LENGTH of a steel suspension bridge. do you know the resistance to electrical charge that much steel has? plus the entire bridge is grounded in several places to prevent lightning strikes from damaging it, all bridges are designed that way. so to keep from turning into a doggone charcoal briquette, even with Touma's sneakers somewhat grounding him on the asphalt road-surface, IB had to protect Touma somewhat. now if i'm wrong and the partial-consciousness of IB was protecting Touma or if he was subconsciously himself negating some of Railgun's zaps? shrug. your guess is as good as mine. because Touma didn't raise his right arm/hand to 'catch lighting in his hand' like normally he does to Railgun when she goes all 'bugzapper' on him.
B. healing magic. during Aqua (useless goddess! ;) ) of the Rear's attack on Academy City seeking to take Touma's right arm... our hero is massively injured. Itsuwa tries to heal Touma but the spell fizzles no matter how many times she tried it. Touma at that time was nigh on unconscious and unable to even raise his right hand. so, why did her spell fizzle IF his hand wasn't involved or his conscious mind controlling IB? maybe IB is part of Touma's whole body providing a minimum level of protection and that is why the spell failed and also why Railgun couldn't zap him to death easily. also, in WW3 Railgun couldn't even grab Touma's belt buckle and lift him off the Star of Bethlehem into the hovering jet to save him. each time she reached out with a magnetic field IB fizzled it. Touma didn't want to die there, but the magnetic field still failed.
C. there is a problem with the 'unified body/IB field' hypothesis though. Shokuhou's Mental Out. she uses it on Touma and communicates with him. but she specifically warns him 'do not touch your head or i will have to reconnect with you!' Touma is SEVERAL STORIES below Shokuhou as she's looking down upon him from a high-rise building. she's behind mirrored glass and he can't see her. he can't sense her with his instincts. he doesn't even know whom she is or what her esper ability is at this point. but she can still connect with him. so, if IB worked like Railgun's EM field keeping Shokuhou 'out' or if IB was running through his whole body giving a minimal level of 'negation'. how did Mental Out touch Touma's brain?
but that's just my two cents worth of ideas. take em or leave em as you wish. :D

On the contrary, all of those powers and abilities that you mentioned actually worked on Touma, its only when the power touch his right hand that it went "poof". Touma cant control Imagine Breaker (yet), the closest thing to that is when he utilize it's slow negating speed to catch supernatural projectiles and redirect them, but that's just him turning a handicap to an advantage.
Itsuwa's healing spell that you mentioned for example, actually was healing for a split sec, but once it spread across until it reach his hand, it dissapeared. Same with Misaka's lightning, Kuroko' teleportation, etc. They all effected his body, but it just spead to his hand that it didn't work cuz it got cancelled midway.
You get me? IB can only protect Touma if the spell/ability effect his entire body. In the bridge scene, the lightning from Misaka *can* be negated, but what Touma cant nullify is the shock that was caused by them, similar to how Touma can negate Stiyl's fire, but he can't negate the burn that was created by the fire.
Another thing thats I want to mention, is that something that I hopefully not get wrong, is thats when Touma fought Accelerator for the first and third time, he didn't consider just grabbing the guy and punching with his left hand to finish him off, this is because Imagine Breaker wouldn't fully negate Accelerator's vector Shield. It will nullify the power specifically on the body part that he grab with Imagine Breaker. (Say if Touma grab Accel's left hand, then for that moment, Accel wouldn't be able to use his power *only* on that specific body part, the rest will still function). Some people actually think Touma can nullify someone's Esper power with just touching because of his fight with Misaka near that river, but what actually happens is that Misaka only tries to channel her power through her hand that was touching Imagine Breaker, making her think her power was gone. If she tried generate lightning with anything other than that hand, it would work.)
Now for Mental Out. Imagine Breaker has still weird function where it can still negate shiz even though its covered by a thin layer of object. Iirc, Touma was wearing gloves in WW3, and his Imagine Breaker would still able to negate magic through it. The same logic could apply when he touch his head to negate mental powers. The layer between his hand and his brain is thin enough that the negation could still apply.
Frankly speaking, these theories are interesting.... Although this does cemented facts that Touma is literally an unlucky Badass to a T.
Since he can punch metal or a beam till dent with raw muscle power alone without any reinforcement or augmentation from both sides. And still earn the full bulk of the damage of the fight even though he's survived from the encounter.
Infinite hell alone made him the only person alive that can utilize IB to it's fullest potential. Then again, he's already capable making the best of it before it if the theory that imagine breaker does provide some boost in certain aspect with literally zero luck to the wielder's name.
Also, if Imagine Breaker does give Touma some sort of boost, then it'll make his precognition even more broken as he technically could "boost" his base self to keep up with types of attacks that are out of his capabilities as "a normal highschool boy with too much experience in street fight" could handle.
Still nuts to take in that Touma only want to have a nice nap and not have to deal with any life threatening shenanigans after his sorry ass every day after everything is said and done...

They are separated power. We don't don't know for sure what their link is, at first we thought that IB was a power that sealed the IT and Dragons, but then there's a few occasions where Touma uses that power with his right hand still intact, so we don't know for sure, sometimes the narration also mentioned aot as Touma's own power.
If imagine breaker has consciousness on it's own and ack as a seal, it be really looking for touma because something inside of him need to be contained or something really bad will happen and only imagine breaker can hold it..

Accelerator is more of a backup plan and a convenient and powerful weapon for Aleister to use. Remember, Aleister prepares thousands of plans because he's cursed to a life of failure, he needs a lot of tools at his disposal.
I think it has something to do with his road to Level 6. Aiwass comes from a realm said to be related somehow to AIM,and he himself requires large amounts of it to manifest a lesser form.
That,and Aleister's beliefs. Specifically ,the Aeon of Horus.
The idea of the Aeon of Horus( at least,to my understanding) is to help humanity rise to an age of mass deification and Apotheosis, where each human would become their own "Horus". Aiwass is treated like a guide of this entity,whilst Aleister declared himself it's manifestation, as Aiwass' first ( apparent) student and the writer of the Book Of The Law.
In other words,whilst Touma was extensively important for his plans of revenge against the Majin,Accelerator( and espers in general )may in fact be his portent for the future of mankind itself. To reach the realm above their machinations and control it,as Othinus said. He'd either be the one to close the gap and reach it....

This may be...out of lore. But I had a thought of a superman fan story based on Touma's powers.
It focused on Jimmy Olsen's watch, which not only calls superman but is able to negate powers of rouge Kryptonians or medahumans mutated by kryptonite. The watch can sometimes call Superman by itself.
And when the watch is destroyed it unleshes these wierd monsters called the Kryptonian gods. After they are done they go back into the watch...newly repaired.

Great Video and even tho i just started reading the novels 3 days ago, after finishing watching all of toaru, your videos are making me really hype to what is still ahead of me .
Even tho its not related to the video, i had two questions regarding volume 1. The magic ritual index and komoe performed to heal index, was that a smaller degree of idol theory ,since instead of recreating something from legends they did it with an apartment.
