At 3,000 subs I'll release a vid explaining how esper powers work! If you're already subbed then please share the video as that really helps the channel grow. Thanks for the support! :^)
Unless I missed it, one thing Magic has over science is its relation to the natural properties of the elements. In particular Magic can create fire without oxygen, while science can’t. Magic is very complex in that it requires extremely exact and premise set up. Like the healing magic Index taught to Komoe. She had to set up a temple to be very close to what is in Komoe’s house. Science or Esper Powers only requires whatever material, force, conditions, or theory to work and they use their Personal Reality to force this to occur.
@@90CJk Nah. Actual magic required preparation (chants, prayers, rituals). Actually Espers also do (calculations),but since an Esper's brain are pretty much supercomputers, the delay is neglible. Kunihata would prolly blitz Stiyl if it's a random encounter.
@@rampagepotato4307 Style could summon his fires instantly but were often small or not his strongest. When fighting Index she cast Saint George’s Holy Sanctuary instantly and Dragon’s Breathe as well. Orianna could cast instantly with her shorthand grimoires. Yes most magicians need to pre-setup to do this or be skilled. But each power has their flaws. Magic is very cultural and precise despite its fickle nature. As like the Stab Sword myth being the folk lore of the Croce di Pietro. Going on that how would you explain that phenomenon. It makes whatever land within a maximum scale of 47,000 square kilometers which to measure is bigger than most of the small US states and some countries become part of the church. It simply makes one fall under the Roman Catholic Church. It isn’t a mental manipulation or removal of free will. Even the Japanese original translation only allure to an emotional effect of happiness. But is extremely vague. So while Science can do things often with far less set up, Magic can touch on phenomena that science at least typical science can’t explain. Honestly I like the Espers as I dislike how the Idol Theory is the basis for like 98% of all Magic. Like I get that Magic is very cultural and inspired by it. But it’s just that when I’m listening to them explain their power I’m getting a history lesson. Which is good but often takes away from the plot. Like the cultural aspect is their reason for doing everything.
@@90CJk True. I actually like both sides. Each side had enough worldbuilding to fuel a side story or two. But I like Science side more since I'm more into Scifi stuffs. I'd love to be an Esper. Can you imagine having a supercomputer for a brain? Math wouldn't be a problem anymore. And even a Level 3 Telepathy would be so OP in real life. I'll be a God of the Casino.
Wow, I wasn't sure if this would help me wrap my head around the power system because it always seemed much harder to understand than the esper system, but this was really informative and easy to understand
Just a quick precisation the elements of each archangel is interchangeable with his counterpart so for example gabriel can be both water or fire but when he is fire michael a.k.a. his counterpart will be water and viceversa The same can be applied to uriel and raphael even though raphael is most closely associated with wind because of his healing powers while Uriel generally represents earth because of his connection with science and alchemy (both were associated with the earth and metals back in the day )
Mana doesn't come from phases though, phases are more where blueprints for different spells are stored based on different myths/filters that change how the world's laws work, While the props in Idol Theory are the instances that reference things in phases, and Mana the Fuel for the spell.
The phase itself isn't the mana source but more the contents of it. Plus the phases do affect magic as a whole such as the sparks and spray and affecting Aiwass.
SPOILERS ON THE SERIES PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT READING THE LN'S OR HAVE NOT CAUGHT UP! When you really think about it and break it down, it becomes more clear how insane Touma's Dragon's truly are when you throw this and everything else in the mix. No matter what religion you follow, no matter if it's Magic or Science, you will always find a Dragon in some part of the world. Unlike most Magicians or Gods that use idol theory and follow one Element, Dragons are the masters of the Elements and are not locked down to one Religion as they are found in all Religions. Dragons were seen as everything, a guardian of treasure, a monster the hero or God must slay, The Devil, a Fallen Angel, The counter to God, In the East Dragons were used for medicine and were the top dogs. In some eastern myths, it was disrespectful to put a Deity above a Dragon, because Dragons are the highest being in some Eastern myths. They were teachers to both Man and the Deities. Guiding them in life. I find it really interesting that Touma's Dragons each look like a Dragon from a famous Dragon mythos, Dragon King =Ryujin/Chinese Dragons, Coba Dragon=Egyptian Dragons but also they each have an Element or Religiones power, Spear Head can shoot Lighting, Angel can turn things into Salt, which is used for Purification in the Bible. What's more interesting is the MG'S wanted Touma to be their Scorer/Sheath a Guide or Teacher you could say, but on the other side of the coin Aleister needs Touma for his master plan and he hates God. I'm really sorry if my comment went off-topic. My brain started brainstorming as I was watching the vid.
TBH even elements themselves are more flexible, in other religions (like Eastern Ones) They use a different set like Water, Wind, and Steel. It's just the most dominant magic systems are primarily western based like Christianity and Thelema so we see more of those.
Index is amazing because everyone is here. Im going to consume it more in depth instead of just the power systems thank you for specializing in this aeon im better as a non specialist because you took the time to specialize in this.
This is it. The video that finally made get magic 😂. I even liked when you brought up the basic things I’ve heard about magic and just had Kuroko ask wtf are your talking about before going in detail. Great video.
Pretty sure it's implied phases existed pre-magic gods as you need phases to master magic to become a magic gods, magic gods can simply effortless add new ones, while a lot of original phases are made from collective belief of the rest of mankind.
Thx for the video I learned a lot about magic in series though that, I never new it was that good of a power system. It is sad that the fanbase of the to aru series is so small you would have at least 100.000 subs if the fanbase would be as big as HunterxHunter's or something like that.
You're welcome! Nah tbf, I only just started uploading content regularly on UA-cam a year ago and I've only made around 65 videos in that time. To even get to 10,000 subs, it took Mr Beast 450 videos to get there and a few years. Of course, I'm not expecting to get as high as 100k but there is a sizable interest in the series if we do go off views (a few Railgun T clips have over 1 million views and so does Gigguk's Toaru vid). So I basically have to tap into a portion of that audience in order to grow. But who knows? I'll just continue the grind and see where I end up :^)
i agree about Aeon deserving more subs 100 % , but not about Toaru fanbase being small it is one of if not most popular Light Novel to this date and has sold over 30+ million copies i would say it is close to HunterxHunter fanbase in size
tbh I'd say both Esper and Magic are equally hard, and they even the anime they don't go into depth about Esper Powers how they work either, the audience that watches the show are just more familiar with basic science then basic occultism.
So basically. Magic is done through following a long line of self imposed laws and symbolism paved through by the originator to the modern day. Raw true magic is derived from controlling the mana/law of the world Phases are layers made by the originators of a myth / magic law which paints the world under the law they follow, making it easier to do magic of that type. AIM fields aka the field that Espers produce are pretty much individual mini phases based on personal laws and thinking that can come together to get stronger. And esper abilities unlike magic doesn’t work on a long line of ‘laws’ but how one challenges and tests a law of the world. As a result. When the traditional line of magic laws meet with a mindset made to experiment and challenge the limits of a law or vice versa meet. They tear each other apart.
My headcanon for how does each source of magic get their power i think there are two categories The first is cosmic meaning that someone can get power from certain things of the universe because of the huge amount of energy and matter each of these concepts has at his disposal like the four elements but it can even be applied to the energy of the stars or the gravity of black holes The second is the mythological source this things come from the faith that the subconscious of humanity has in them or has had in them so much that they created those concepts and once they are created they remain in the subconscious of humanity feeding from people that learn about their stories this is also a reason on why Christian iconography is so strong because not only a lot of people believe in it but it was also present for a loto f time in the history of humanity and even people that are atheist know about it in their subconscious and in a way even knowing about those stories is a way to allow one of thise beings to continue to exist .
Awesome video! and i don't think it was that complicated either , welp i already knew most of these so maybe that's the reason but i still think it would be not that hard for someone who does't understand magic Need to slap this video to peoples faces who don't like magic in Index , maybe after watching this they will like it more. Looking forward to that Esper video :)
I'm still kind of not over the fact that in the anime the magic side still keeps using magic to kill Touma Kamijou despite knowing that he can cancel magic. Someone please give them a gun. Although, after his battle with Fiamma, I'm now not sure whether that would be enough to finish Touma.
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 Right? Like I'm sure the creators are going to resolve this conflict at some point, but in the anime during Daihasei Festival Arc Touma fought Oriana Thomson and he was no match against her physical fighting skills. If she had a weapon, she could have killed Touma; she's a goddamn mercenary. Also, in season 2 you'd think that with all the power and resources the Church has the agents of Rome should have been smart enough to stop this BUT NOOOOO. The whole time I was screaming "STOP USING MAGIC!" I don't know, I think I might be biased because I like the anime, its politics, and the plot, but for some reason I don't like the main character.

Great explanation on the magic system. My fav explanation on magic in the series is Levinia Birdway's explanation in NT 2 to the main characters. The way the anime protrays magic and religion is mysterious and makes you want to learn/watch more about the system. Also what do you think about the Index Endimyion movie?
@@AeonofHorus I agree, haha. Thought it was funny how they photoshoped the space elevator in those scenes where Touma is explaining it to Index. I like how ladylee and Arisa are mentioned in NT!
I don't personally think of Index Magic as Hard, more like Firm, in that while the system has rules and limitations the fact that said rules and limitations can still be exploited, and that nothing much that was concrete about said magic has been disclosed means that there are still numerous unknowns surrpunding it, as well as potential rules and limitations within the system. Just my 2 cents
To be fair from the begining most people will prefer science. Since the setting takes place in Academy City of the science side and most of the protagonists are of the science side, we get a bias view of magic from the begining.
Magic and esper are similar, magic just relies on the combined realities of others and life forces of others as a power source while espers relies on only their own reality as a power source. An esper using magic would require them to conform to another's reality which would alter their own reality, altering their reality would result in changing everything their body & essence was built upon, basically tainting a structure with a foreign object it hasnt properly adapted to at its foundation till it collapse
I have a question does magic god also aplied by idol theory and idol theory is imitate a myth or legend, can magician imitate magic god as ideal theory?
This doesn't even cover how other fictional mythos can be used as magic in the series. The Cthulhu Mythos for example, can be turned into religion and once it's established, mages can now channel the power of Cthulhu. That's pretty damn creative.
Well that is a complicated issue that has been touched upon recently in GT (yet we still don't know the exact laws which Alice and her fictional gang abide by). The Necronomicon is a grimoire in Index, and its Idol Theory originally comes from the Forgotten God. But yeah, hopefully we find out the method of how fictional elements can be implemented into magic in GT, then I would probably do a video about it.
The ley line law line 12 to latin translation oracion 67 are connected to the magic off numbers hence the index of index attached to the numerical sequence of 5 2 10 on the hands and walking appendages, this may help in your views 👁
Her Perfect Memory has nothing to do with her being immune, why she is is a mystery, her perfect memory is just what makes her ability to memorize them and have the knowledge on standby without other people having the access the originals valuable.
It does have something to do with her immunity cause the “poison” from grimoires is information that is of a different world, and contradicts common sense, a knowledge that is far too alien to be safely comprehensible to any normal human. The knowledge that a grimoire possesses is "poisonous" in the sense that it is too "pure" for the human mind to handle and must be "watered down", written in such a way that many of its meanings are obscured-in order for people to be able to read it without their minds being destroyed. Meaning perfect memory will keep her from trying to judge what is supposed to be right and wrong so her mind won’t be destroyed cause she isn’t gonna forget anything + her status of mind is very low or that of a baby that can speak which believes everything they see or in this case *read*.
@@Cakelover420 There is no where in the novels that states this, plus your theory only holds if we assume she has no comprehension of what she reads and is parroting, but it's shown in multiple scenes that she uses her grimoire knowledge to reference and analyze other people's spells.
@@dpolaristar4634 it was stated in OT1 Chapter 2 Part 2 for the first sentence, while the second sentence is from OT15 Chapter 3 Part 12. I didn’t say she didn’t comprehend or have it in her mind but doesn’t think or talk about it, her comprehension being like a child is me saying she won’t reject the information she’s reading since her memory erasing, children don’t reject things as much as adults when faced with something inconsistent or impossible to understand.
@@Cakelover420 It stated she had perfect memory it didn't state that was why she could resist the Grimoire, also if being child-like is the way to not get infected, why don't they have actual young, (Very Young) Children handle grimoires.
@@dpolaristar4634because they won’t remember it like Index does with her perfect memory, they would mostly forget it and this infection won’t effect if you don’t try to simplify it to understand which perfect memory won’t allow her to simplify it cause she won’t be able to get it out of her head.

So what I learn between magic and science. Is the science you can only have one power but you can mulipnation the power all you want with your mind. While magic can use many power all you want but require material and ritual to create magic.
I started the LN at the Daihasei arc but there wasn't much explanation of the manifestation of Magic after that , so which volume do I need to buy to properly read it?
I have a noob question/hypothetical situation because I'm not yet fully convinced that magic in the Index universe is a science. Science is a systematic collection of information and organization of knowledge which aims to explain and predict phenomena in the universe. Magic, in fictional Index world, however just seems like carefully crafted laws and systems of rationality, causes, and effect which leaves the gap between them open. The Spear of Destiny bit is an example, in which Idol Theory is applied but not explained. It's just Serendipity, figuring out how it should work. It's not subject to the scientific method, which clearly disqualifies it as science. Here's the hypothetical: if I was working for the Vatican (in the Index universe) how would I go investigating Angel Fall, that event when an angel was forced out of heaven? Let's say the events from Season 1 anime took place (just for ease of reference). How would I apply the scientific method to build and organize knowledge around this event? I don't think we can (but if anyone has an answer please let me know) because it's about Angel Gabriel plotting to destroy the world with the intent to go back to heaven with some sort of global spell. Okay, so how do I investigate how spells work with science? Is it even possible? Can we quantify anything? I do not think so. "Magic is the refusal of an explanation" I forgot who said this but I will try to find them. I loved your video, by the way. Also your video on Espers.
You said science aims to explain and predict phenomena in the universe. However, many aspects of the universe in Index are not scientific but magical in nature: e.g. the phases, the leylines, the trees etc You could perhaps try and view these concepts via a purely scientific angle and say "the phases present multiverse theory". Also if you take the stars which are seemingly scientific, it's been stated and seen that the stars can also be used for magic which gives them an entirely new meaning and purpose. So I think perception is important for determining the distinction between magic and science, and which means you choose to explain phenomena around you.
@@AeonofHorus I guess that could be acceptable in a strict lore-based sense but I would still have to defer to how science actually works, which has to constantly challenge theory before reaching a consensus about how an observation is explained and how it actually happens-a defensible conclusion of an experiment, for example. Take Acqua of the Rear for instance. We have two connected observations about his ability: (1) He can use normal human magic unlike other members of God's Right Seat, (2) this is caused by the Divine Mother's Mercy. Whomst? Like, I know I can just check out the fandom wiki for the basic explanations like I did here but there is a very huge unscientific leap here. There are tons of information missing between these two observations. Are there physical, chemical, or biological forces at play here? How does a supernatural being transfer power to the natural? Is there some sort of subatomic, quantum entanglement that aids in connecting transcendental powers to the mortal realm? To magic users that doesn't seem very important. What matters is the end results and the desired effects, how they are able to "contort" reality to their "will." Compare that with Vatican miracle examiners in our world. Before canonizing a saint they have to prove that a miracle has occured by **at least** deferring to formal and applied sciences like statistics and medicine. They systematically "rule out" all natural explanations thus making it "supernatural" thereby permitting canonization of a beatified venerable (a saint candidate). The miracle was beyond science, and that is what makes it magic. I guess what I'm saying is magic in the Index universe appears like science because of its systematic body of knowledge, but it's really not because while it's good at answering "why" questions about magic it is neither capable nor interested in answering the "how" questions. And that's actually part of why I like how magic works here, because there's a limitation: you have to do certain things to get certain results, requiring a certain type of rationality; and that makes it more interesting. You are now my go-to channel for anything Index-related. Keep up the good work!
@Kamijou Medi Damn!! beautiful well explain. Like I get how magic in Index work because that's there world and not ours our world logic does not really apply to them. a little bit outside of context. I always wandered if the logic we see in our universe is also relative to others like why do all objects with mass like our planet bends and curves the fabric of the universe? Why? Because apparently in our universe matter and energy distort space-time, why? It's just does. But Is this relative to every universe that exist outside of ours? Is there a reality, dimensions or plane of existence where does not apply to them? I believe this is why I like index so much because even to all want we see in Index is pure fiction and impossible in our ways of logic. Kamachi still gives a explanation and logic to both science and magic even tho they sound like complete bullshit sometimes.
Hey aeon what are your taughts on the magic-science treaty in the toaru universe? In my opinion it basically hinders the magic side as a whole. I just hope that kamachi introduces a faction of magicians in the series that outright disregard the treaty and tries to combine magic and science. What are your thoughts?
Only Aqua can use Telesma due to him being a Member of God's Right Seat same with Other GRS members, also lots of magicians can summon Telesma but they can't process it like their own Mana due to incompatability.
After all, I still didn't understand why the esper-powers are more like magic? Can you explain which side or characteristics makes them look like magic?
Bc the esper powers come from formulas Aiwass wrote for Aleister back when he was creating academy city and then he would use that to create the curriculum program to make espers. With Aiwass being an angel and Aleister being a magician you can sort of connect why esper powers have a bit of connection with magic
@@pierocolombo2643 I mean, how are the powers of Espers similar to magic? It was said in the video that Kamachi wanted to make magic more like science and esper powers more like magic. So how are Esper powers similar to magic?
@@hotkot5054 bc they are derivated from magic kinda, and if we want to get a bit more philosophical magic is just unexplained events without real science behind😂 Kamachi probably just wants to thin the line between magic and science in the series
@@pierocolombo2643 I don't care what formed the basis of the Espers' forces. I need an answer why esper powers should be more like magic. In the video it was said that magic is more like science because it is based on a complex energy system and as a result, complex knowledge is needed for its application. But how do Espers' abilities look more like magic?
I'm not good at English but I'll try to explain. The Esper power works like Schrödinger's paradox where there are 2 possibilities inside a box and when choosing one of them, it becomes the real one on the part of the chooser. Thus the Esper create a "micro-world", a space where their powers stop being an illusion and become real, this is called personal reality. And then the Espers replace the world around them with their "micro-world" or they replace the reality around them with their personal reality. This is why your powers affect the world. Interestingly, this process is interconnected with the theory of idols on which all magic is based. "To perform magic it is essential to establish your territory" ~Index (nun ) The personal reality would be the Espers' "territory". But while Espers warp reality to their will, magic needs a much more elaborate process to warp reality. Idol Theory requires the belief of a subject, an idol, that a user requires to extract their magic. Therefore, preparations, ingredients and rituals are needed for the magic to take effect. This means that each spell always has an explanation and a reason, each action has 5 possible causes and effects and each detail follows an operating logic. Even alternative possibilities (science) can be fuel for magic. Neoka Norito for example, casts magic with a method of utilizing the association between the seven metals of antiquity, the seven classical planets and seven of the ten Sephirah to reach the twenty-two channels that connect the ten spheres of the Sephiroth, influencing the tree to affect the world . He calls this spell the minimum collision theory. While the Esper power works just "because yes" like a magic lamp genie that makes any wish come true without having an explanation of how he did it. You imagine (impose your own will) and that's it, there's your Esper power. In short, the power of each Esper is linked to physics like the Accelerator that manipulates vectors BUT that's it, in terms of origin and functionality this power system is very "magical".
the real question here that sparked alot of debate tho, about the gemstones aka the natural espers, does that mean that even without AC espers would have been a normal thing and if so where are all the old espers that grew of ages after highschool since we havent seen an esper older than 18 years old (i would say mugino since she looks like she could be the olders level 5 in the series but ofcourse we cant be so sure since looks can be deceiving especially in anime or LNs), hope i am making sense unlike last time
Idk, I feel like there wouldnt be enough gemstones for them to be seen as normal. Well they go to college at AC after highschool but after that.... Sadly that’s never been explained, it’s always something I’ve been curious about. I actually asked the Astral Buddy mangaka (Nogi Yashito) if he knew or Kamachi told him, and he didn’t know and was curious himself. I imagine they must work in Academy City’s partner institutions across the globe (the ones which most the sisters were sent to) but that’s just my theory.
There are 50 gemstones out of 6 billion people in Toaru with Gunha being the only Level 5. Which means almost no one would ever meet an old Esper that knew what their powers did
Toaru power system is better than Jujutsu Kaisen. Also,if two people is trying to replicate the same thing such as the spear of longinus using Idol Theory will both of them get the same fraction of the original power?
Yeah since thats how it works with Saints. Index said the borrowed power can often be a really small fraction in comparison to the original, so its not as though multiple magicians borrowing the power would use it all up.
Start with Old Testament (volume 1), while it covers the events of season 1 it fleshes the characters and concepts out much better. And there are details that don't get covered. I plan to make a read/watch order vid at some point anyway.
For real tho how the hell is birdway talentless? She’s a twelve years old who have mastered golden style magic, that is basically the definition of a talented person.
@@bisayafascist5725 Toaru has a way of explaining talent. Touma in NT 6 praised her, saying that Birdway is relentlessly hardworking and achieved a position she deserves. It's like in Blue Period.
It was always kinda hard to wrap my head around the magic here since I have studied the sciences. All my life I have studied the science side and can understand what the author is trying to convey in espers but usually lost on magic since I never studied any religion. In Raildex, I just treat the magic side as some science I dont know like quantum theory.
One thing I always ask myself is:Is Jesus a magic god in Index or just the son of the christian God who is the magic god and lives in the phase of heaven?
@@Unlimi-PT I think I have another day to break my head about this, because homework. No seriously as someone who got into Raildex last year just by watching all the anime,I have a lot of questions concerning the magic side of things. But even I know that Aleister did nothing wrong.
Imagine the universe is a blank canvas or blank sheet of paper. If you paint all of it, that layer of paint is a phase, so the more layers of paint you add, the more phases exist.
Magic gods ain't strong at all, Kuroko can destroy them easily. Kuroko can just move a poison arrows or grenada into magic god's body, or move a truck door between their body, cut magic god into two pieces.
Magic isn't scientific at all. It's a convoluted mess, yes, But it can be reduced to "me uses power, me manifest spell, spell does shit". While espers are more intricate and science based. So yeah no.
At 3,000 subs I'll release a vid explaining how esper powers work! If you're already subbed then please share the video as that really helps the channel grow. Thanks for the support! :^)

Dang that's sounds cool.
That's make sense
TBH even elements themselves are more flexible, in other religions (like Eastern Ones) They use a different set like Water, Wind, and Steel. It's just the most dominant magic systems are primarily western based like Christianity and Thelema so we see more of those.
Cough, systematic oppression, cough.

I'll just continue the grind and see where I end up :^)
i agree about Aeon deserving more subs 100 % , but not about Toaru fanbase being small
it is one of if not most popular Light Novel to this date and has sold over 30+ million copies

A Certain Magical Index is a MASTERPIECE! Is it a big Fanbase in Japan??
tbh I'd say both Esper and Magic are equally hard, and they even the anime they don't go into depth about Esper Powers how they work either, the audience that watches the show are just more familiar with basic science then basic occultism.
Such a nice video👍 but I had to watch this about 2 times to fully understand how the Toaru magic side works😅
Thanks! It is complicated 😂
So basically.
Magic is done through following a long line of self imposed laws and symbolism paved through by the originator to the modern day.
Raw true magic is derived from controlling the mana/law of the world
Phases are layers made by the originators of a myth / magic law which paints the world under the law they follow, making it easier to do magic of that type.
They tear each other apart.
honestly i had no idea how the magic worked so this helps a lot thank youuu
no problem!
Idol theory is basically just symphatetic magic aka voodoo magic, it's prinicples have first been presented in a book called THE GOLDEN BOUGH!
I think it’s perfectly explained, thanks!
My headcanon for how does each source of magic get their power i think there are two categories
The first is cosmic meaning that someone can get power from certain things of the universe because of the huge amount of energy and matter each of these concepts has at his disposal like the four elements but it can even be applied to the energy of the stars or the gravity of black holes
The second is the mythological source this things come from the faith that the subconscious of humanity has in them or has had in them so much that they created those concepts and once they are created they remain in the subconscious of humanity feeding from people that learn about their stories this is also a reason on why Christian iconography is so strong because not only a lot of people believe in it but it was also present for a loto f time in the history of humanity and even people that are atheist know about it in their subconscious and in a way even knowing about those stories is a way to allow one of thise beings to continue to exist .
Awesome video! and i don't think it was that complicated either , welp i already knew most of these so maybe that's the reason but i still think it would be not that hard for someone who does't understand magic
Need to slap this video to peoples faces who don't like magic in Index , maybe after watching this they will like it more.
THANK YOU! I was always thinking why they always try to go after him knowing he can cancel supernatural activity. Like use a gun, dame.
@@bmwjourdandunngoddess6024 Right? Also, in season 2 you'd think that with all the power and resources the Church has the agents of Rome should have been smart enough to stop this BUT NOOOOO.

After watching anime: i like science over magic
After reading LN and Manga: i like magic over science
To be fair from the begining most people will prefer science. Since the setting takes place in Academy City of the science side and most of the protagonists are of the science side, we get a bias view of magic from the begining.
@@revolvingworld2676true
Magic and esper are similar, magic just relies on the combined realities of others and life forces of others as a power source while espers relies on only their own reality as a power source. An esper using magic would require them to conform to another's reality which would alter their own reality, altering their reality would result in changing everything their body & essence was built upon, basically tainting a structure with a foreign object it hasnt properly adapted to at its foundation till it collapse
I have a question does magic god also aplied by idol theory and idol theory is imitate a myth or legend, can magician imitate magic god as ideal theory?
Yes
Let's all help aeon get 3000 subs to get that esper explained
The ley line law line 12 to latin translation oracion 67
are connected to the magic off numbers hence the index of index attached to the numerical sequence of 5 2 10 on the hands and walking appendages, this may help in your views 👁

@@Cakelover420 It stated she had perfect memory it didn't state that was why she could resist the Grimoire, also if being child-like is the way to not get infected, why don't they have actual young, (Very Young) Children handle grimoires.

@@AeonofHorus Okay, Thanks a lot.
10 minutes in, i already forgot everything
And Necessarius directly investigate angel fall during the arc so idk what to say when you ask "how would we investigate it?".
Glad you enjoyed :)
"Magic…is the refusal of an explanation"-Abigail Thorn from Philosophy Tube
@Kamijou Medi Damn!! beautiful well explain.
Like I get how magic in Index work because that's there world and not ours our world logic does not really apply to them.
a little bit outside of context. I always wandered if the logic we see in our universe is also relative to others like why do all objects with mass like our planet bends and curves the fabric of the universe? Why? Because apparently in our universe matter and energy distort space-time, why? It's just does.
But
Is this relative to every universe that exist outside of ours?

"To perform magic it is essential to establish your territory"
~Index (nun )
The personal reality would be the Espers' "territory".
Hey question, Platinum Wings Accelerator, is he immune to reality warping?
Random question but I need to know
There's no feats of him nulling it.
the real question here that sparked alot of debate tho, about the gemstones aka the natural espers, does that mean that even without AC espers would have been a normal thing and if so where are all the old espers that grew of ages after highschool since we havent seen an esper older than 18 years old (i would say mugino since she looks like she could be the olders level 5 in the series but ofcourse we cant be so sure since looks can be deceiving especially in anime or LNs), hope i am making sense unlike last time
Idk, I feel like there wouldnt be enough gemstones for them to be seen as normal.
Which means almost no one would ever meet an old Esper that knew what their powers did
Science has truly started advancing in the padt few hundread years.
Magic has been advancing for thausands.
Thats not even mentioning time dialation
why doesn't something like this video exist in the anime?
Sadly a lot of the exposition explaining this in Index was watered down considerably or cut out the anime
Do you think the polytheistic deities will ever make a serious appearance and play a role in the future?
I think I need to watch your video 2 to 3 times to really understand the concept of Magic side😂
Yeah the concepts are still a bit tricky
Toaru power system is better than Jujutsu Kaisen. Also,if two people is trying to replicate the same thing such as the spear of longinus using Idol Theory will both of them get the same fraction of the original power?
Yeah since thats how it works with Saints. Index said the borrowed power can often be a really small fraction in comparison to the original, so its not as though multiple magicians borrowing the power would use it all up.

I don't think "God" is a magic god. Magic Gods are mortal and they are not omnipotent so they cannot be God.
