Thank you so much... I've had this brick sitting in my drawer for a while. Due to another device breaking, I tried this out of desperation for a backup device. I used a heat gun as others suggested because I don't have a hot air station, high setting for about 35 seconds at 3-5 cm distance from the chip and it worked. I was kind of shocked when it booted, and by how easy this was.

Thanks, worked perfectly for me. I didn't use any flux. Just heat gun for about 30 seconds.

What worked for me is literally just taking the sim tray out (I was gonna follow these steps but i guess it was too scared for me not to take it apart and started working...)

I don't have hit gun or hair dryer and I'm little scared to use iron. I saw a comment under a video that suggested people to just put it in the oven at 200 degree C for about 5minutes, and then wait for it to cool down together with the oven.
You don't just put flux on then put it back together. There is a large part missing I'm sure.
There is and you've missed it, he was cleaning it with a brush soaked in (I guess) IPA. It didn't clean between BGA balls, though.
Also, some fluxes are no-clean, while they will look like a mess, they won't cause any trouble if left uncleaned in most scenarios.

hi. i dont have any hit gun neither hair dryer. can i use iron instead? by using its only heat at the highest temperature. how long does it takes?

Sorry, but what did you actually do? Re-apply adhesive to the CPU or something?
It is a method of soldering balls under the Emmc chip issue, called reflow is used together with flux paste soldering.
hey huys i just realized this, the problem with lg chips are they tend to move so the only way to fix this is to make it stable/solid i own 2 nexus 5xs that were bootlooping and they work fine. all i did was to give the chips some heat and glued the chip to the board thank about it. but keep in mind the glue has to be able to withstand the heat
by glue you mean you just heated it up with some solder and pressed down on it?
@@garjarulle3808 no that will damage it, heat it up at about 115 °f for 10 seconds half an inch away from the chip
@@madsco27 I only managed to get a bootloop screen to show up one time, put it oven know makes a sound when I press buttons lmao toasted

You can use the hair dryer, but isolate the face, otherwise you risk flying smd :)
